“I was scrambling to find dog boarding when my friend canceled on me at the last minute. I had no backup plan and actually thought I’d have to send my dog to a kennel for the week. Luckily, as I was looking up kennels, I found information on Rover. So this was my very first time using Rover and I was extremely nervous. Turns out, there was absolutely no reason for me to be. Rover is very easy to use and I was able to find Julie & Kenneth N’s information. After seeing/reading the positive reviews I made immediate plans to meet them and have them meet my Husky, Max. When Julie & Ken arrived, they were very friendly, easy to talk to and most importantly, they love dogs. I was able to book Max to stay with Julie & Ken for the entire week that we were on a family vacation. As promised, I got daily emails (with pictures) of how Max was doing and Julie even let me know how helpful Max was in the kitchen — by being watchful to ensure Julie didn’t drop anything while preparing lunch. I loved all of the text communications I received — Max was smiling in some of the pics. That put me at ease too. If you want top notch boarding for your dog, then I highly recommend this dog-loving duo. Your dog will be well taken care of and will be happy with Julie & Ken. She went above and beyond—sending me some of the best photos and videos I’ve ever had of him, including clips of him playing and socializing with larger dogs (which was a first for him!). It meant so much to see him having that kind of fun and confidence. Megan also kept me updated with daily “doggy report cards” and personalized notes, which were such a thoughtful touch. When I picked him up, it was clear he had an incredible time—he was almost sad to leave! He even made a new best friend with her dog, Kava. No worries at all as the dogs will always be coming first in this household. I have a small fenced in yard for the dogs to go out. We also have a friendly dog park right out back of the house as well in which we take the dogs to frequently and know most of the dogs that go to the park as well. We have 3 stories so the dogs will get plenty of exercise going up and down the stairs as well.

About: I have one small 3 legged rescue and just adopted another rescue September 2025 who is recovering from being hit by a car. Both are chihuahua s Prior to moving to Virginia I fostered both cats and dogs. I was known as a foster failure since I adopted many of my fosters and at one time I had 8 dogs. I love all animal but have a special place in my heart for dogs. I am retired and have lots of time on my hands and would love to spend some time with your dog when you are not able to. I will treat them as if they were mine9. I have two small dog that does fine with other dogs. My yard is fenced and secure. I believe dogs belong in the house since they are part of the family.

About: Hello I have unfortunately never had any dog friends growing up. I watch dog sometime sporadically through the years when friends find out that I love dogs. I can help with medications given, dog walks, dog check in or do in home boarding. I do live a short walk from a park, so can also do playtime and walks at the park as well! I am currently not working so I am available at all times of the day for drop ins visits, long or short walks or boarding in my home. I have a fenced in back yard with a lot of space. I have 3 senior dogs that love other dogs, but I also have plenty of space to keep dogs separated if needed. I also live walking distance from my local park. Smoke free home.
