“Nyla and Corey took excellent care of my pets while I was visiting my brother in Alexandria. They were able to accommodate a last minute request due to an unforeseen work situation I was in. Corey was able to pick up my pups and bring them home which was a huge help, as I am not very familiar with the DC Metro area in addition to the horrific traffic. They sent me photos during the day to let me know how my dogs were doing, which was great as I am a helicopter pet parent. What began as a last minute doggy day care issue became a blessing as I will always utilize Corey and Nyla in the future when visiting my brother in Alexandria. I should also mention that I have a bossy female toy poodle Lu and a mini Aussie puppy Finn. They are both well trained but get super excited being around new people and Finn needs mental and physical stimulation throughout the day. They both came home to me happy and sleepy, I know that Finn would not be sleepy if he did not get the stimulation that he needs especially at this stage of his life. Thank you, Corey and Nyla! About: I had two dogs growing up (Snowball and Mocha) and in recent years, have dog sat for friends, friends, and for Rover clients. It's rewarding and super fun for me! I enjoy the long walks in my neighborhood (I live in an awesome neighborhood for that) and lots of cuddles/belly rubs with the dogs I am sitting! I work from home most of the week and have plenty of time during the day for neighborhood strolls/walks with my rover pups. I love going for walks to take a break so would take the dog out at least 3 or 4 times a day with me. My husband and I live in a 2 bedroom/2 floor condo with a balcony. The dog would have access to the first floor. We have hard wood floors, a ton of really great light and are on the 3rd floor. There are no elevators in this building. We have a ton of neighbors who have dogs, an elementary school near by with a nice track/green space, and lots of side walk space for walks.

About: My entire family has dogs and I’ve always loved them. I had a dog in high school, Oreo; she was a pitbull mix and she was my first dog. I learned most of my training experience from Oreo and taking her to training sessions. One of my previous jobs was at a dog grooming establishment, I was there for a year and two months as the receptionist. During my time at the dog grooming place I formed relationships not only with our human customers but also the furbabies. I’ve met all kinds of dog breeds through my old job and in passing throughout the streets of DC. My old coworker called me the dog whisperer. When customers came in and said their dog might not take to me I always managed to get them to warm up to me. I can’t tell you how many times I heard “they’ve never done that with anyone before”, not only from owners but my coworkers too. I’ve calmed the most rowdy dogs like it was nothing because I love dogs with my entire heart. I have a huge soft spot for big dogs, especially pitbulls and german shepherds. I’ve worked with many breeds, sizes, ages and temperaments. There’s not a dog I’ve encountered who I haven’t been able to work my magic on, I hope to continue doing so with Rover. I’m currently working full time but I live extremely close to my job, like 5 minutes away, so I’m able to check on the dogs throughout the day. I’ll make sure to use a dog cam to make sure they’re okay as well. On my days off I’ll be home to watch them all day. I live in an apartment with surrounding grass areas for the dog to relieve themselves. I used to dog sit for a previous roommate of mine while in an apartment, so I’m familiar with timing bathroom breaks according to the time it takes to get outside. The dogs are free to roam my living space, I’ll make sure to close off the bedrooms unless they are with me. There will be a designated area for their things (crate, bed, toys, etc). I’m pretty flexible, I want to maintain the dog’s routine as much as possible especially their training.

About: I’ve grown up surrounded by animals my entire life — from our childhood Irish Setter, Sadie, to our five cats and three birds. Beyond family pets, I’ve also cared for my own animals, including my boss’s elderly Chihuahua, Tu, who is now a sweet 15‑year‑old “little old lady” that I look after entirely, as well as my pony, Sea Star. I bottle‑fed Sea Star as a child, trained him to ride, and taught him to pull a cart throughout high school. I have hands-on experience that I believe typical pet-sitters do not hold. Some examples include dog-sitting for our neighbors for two summers in middle school, managing their eight rescue dogs with no issues and also volunteering to feed and care for a friend’s 13 horses once a week, morning and night, throughout an entire winter. I also just completed a 2 month house sitting job for a family this summer. I maintained their home, their many, many plants and also took detailed care of their 3 adorable cats. Over the years, I’ve taken responsibility for all of our family pets as well when parents or siblings have gone away on trips (canaries, parakeets, 2 dogs and 5 cats.) I’m comfortable with animals of every temperament, size, and background, and many people say I have a natural ability to get animals to warm up to me quickly even if they struggle with fear and/or anxiety. I am happy to walk and play with pets as often as requested and I am comfortable giving any sort of medication. I am currently a student at Northern Virginia Community College, but I am part time this summer so I have plenty of time to take good care of your pet(s)! I offer fees on a sliding scale based on income- contact me about my rates and I’m happy to adjust. I am a very attentive caregiver and will give your pets lots of attention while I’m on the clock. I am also happy to sit around and just keep them company if your pets are slow going like mine are.

I follow each care, instructions closely, including feeding schedules, freshwater, medication, walk, exercise, playtime. I also make sure your home is treated with the same respect as your pets. Communication is very important to me, so I send regular updates and photos to give you peace of mind that your pets are happy, healthy, and receiving the care that they deserve. My goal is to make your time away as stress-free as possible for both you and your pets.
