About: I've been a lifelong dog owner and have cared for dogs most of my life. I've frequently dog-sat for friends and family over the years, including feeding, walking, administering medications when needed and providing lots of attention and playtime. I work from home full-time, so your dog will receive plenty of supervision, attention, and companionship throughout the day. My partner is retired and also home most of the time, so there is almost always someone here with the pets. Because of this, dogs are rarely left alone and get lots of care, playtime, and comfort during their stay. Dogs under 40 lbs. please. We provide a calm, safe, and welcoming environment and follow each dog’s normal routine for feeding, potty breaks, walks, and playtime. Our home has a fenced backyard where dogs can safely enjoy time outside. We also have a friendly 5-year-old dog who is low-energy and well socialized. She enjoys the company of other dogs but is also respectful of dogs who prefer their own space. Your pet’s safety and comfort are very important to us. We introduce dogs slowly, supervise interactions, and treat every dog in our home like part of the family. We are also happy to send photo updates so you can see how your pet is doing while you’re away.

“Joshua was great at watching our cat, Lola for 2.5 weeks. We were very nervous, because Lola had never been left with a stranger before, and doesn't have the best attitude sometimes 😉 At the meet and greet, Joshua had his dog Brewster, who was very sweet and calm, but Lola was hissing and swiping every chance she had. Joshua had never watched a cat before but he was confident everything would be fine- and it was. Lola seemed to get very comfortable with Joshua very quickly. He was even able to pick her up, which we weren't expecting. Now that Lola is home, she seems very calm and has adjusted very well. I think a big part of this is because of Joshua's patience and kindness with her. We will definitely go with Joshua again if needed. Thanks so much!”

My first dog was a mini poodle and I also have owned/fostered a pit bull, a collie, and many hound mixed. My aunt owns an animal shelter where I used to live in Connecticut and I spent a lot of time there exposed to various breeds. Nothing makes me happier than seeing my dog or other dogs living their best life. I can accommodate small dogs that just want some love but also active dogs since I walk about 6-8 miles a day already and would love company. There is a dog park on my street as well if they’d prefer an open area to run. I work from home and have a very flexible schedule. I find myself just wandering around, walking around the parks, and can accommodate your schedule! I have one small 7 year old beagle mix that your dog could spend time with. Our days would consist of many walks (some on their own and if they don’t mind / prefer company, some with my dog) snuggling, and playing at the dog park which is normally empty.
