About: I used to work as a Vet Tech for 3 years. Up until a few years ago I have always had an indoor dog and/or cat. When our fur baby Milly (Pit/ Staffy) passed and we found we enjoy entertaining a variety of breeds. Since then we have got another pit baby Ollie. About: Hi I'm Melanie! I run a small nonprofit called Time is Precious Pet Rescue and my dream is to open a fully operational shelter and transport system. I've loved animals since I could walk and have hundreds of dogs and cats come through my care along with small mammals, reptiles, amphibians, farm animals, and birds! I have work experience as a kennel technician in veterinary, municipal shelter, and boarding/training environments. I hold a CVA level 1, several Fear Free Pets certifications, and a USDA transporter certification through my rescue work. I'm currently a part-time online student at Lone Star college so my availability is wide open I will try my best to stick to your pets current schedule as much as possible to make their time away from you as easy on them as it can be. During my time at the clinic I became very familiar with harnessing, leashing, and collaring rambunctious dogs as well as coaxing reluctant animals into their kennels I use a fear free approach (lots of treats and toys!) and do not condone dragging pulling or pushing pets unless it is the safest course of action in an emergency situation. I am also experienced in giving medications and monitoring pets for signs of distress or illness.

My husband and son love dogs and all animals. His previous pair of dogs was sadly stolen from him and he hasn’t been ready to get another pet. That recently changed when our son started showing extreme interest in dogs and other animals. We want to test the waters with dog boarding and walking to see before committing. For us, a pet is forever. I work from home and my work is flexible. I can accommodate changes in schedule. My office is in the galleria area and my house is in humble. I can do dog walks in the galleria area as well. I have a fenced backyard and empty rooms to house the dogs if they need to have their own space.
