Christina P asked us to bring Stella to her house a few days before our trip. We had a good feeling as soon as wet met her! Stella took to her right away. It took some getting used to that evening for Stella to feel comfortable with the other dogs (bc of her being so timid), but we left her home feeling confident that Stella would be in good hands. While we were on vacation, Christina was very good at sending photos of Stella in a very timely and consistent manner. When we brought Stella home after our trip, she didn’t skip a beat! She was very well adjusted after her 8 night, 9 day stay with Christina! We noticed no anxiety when we brought Stella home, and she went right to eating her food at her normal schedule. About: To comfort any animal brings comfort to myself. I have experience with all kinds of pets and love all animals but cats are what you’d find in my home. It’s a common misconception that cats don’t require much attention but as a domesticated animal they thrive on human companionship while also having many natural instincts to accommodate. Some require more attention than others depending on their personality. One of the most important instincts to satisfy is the need to hunt/play. There are some automatic or interactive toys that work well but for the most part the best toy is something on the end of a string attached to a wand/rod and their human’s participation. This way you can mimic the evasive movements of an actual prey for your cat to hunt. This provides exercise and stimulation and I would be happy to play with your cat(s) I’m very good at befriending anxious or less trusting cats and identifying the things that exacerbate their anxiety and finding solutions to comfort them. I also have experience administering medications. With a cat the easiest route of administration is a liquid solution mixed in with some wet food or treat or squirted into the back side of the mouth with an oral syringe. Giving a cat a pill can be more difficult but it can be done. I would wrap them in a towel or blanket, lubricate pill so it doesn’t stick to fingers or tongue, tilt head back and insert pill into back of the mouth, return head to level position and rub their throat and/or slightly blow on the nose to stimulate swallowing reflexes, then give them a treat and love them! When possible I scoop our 3 cats’ boxes after every use. I’m happy to clean and scoop your cat’s box(es) with the same vigilance. A clean litter box is one factor in ensuring a healthy and happy cat!

I have worked with all kinds of dog, both in terms of breeds and behaviors. I was also the head trainer and a manager of one of the largest boarding facilities in Vermont, Oh My Dog. I have plans for a small kennel and training out of my house long term. Available all week days and possibly weekends with reasonable notice. I have six acres of wooded land that backs up to hundreds of acres of state owned land. I have a fenced in play yard, and two side kennels that get all day shade. Also have space to accommodate crates as well!

You are welcome to bring bedding and toys to help your pet feel at home 💞 but it is not required. Before moving to Chattanooga, I cared for the same family’s dog for over two years, building a strong bond with both the pup and the family. “Stella stayed with Christina P for 8 nights. We have never boarded Stella for that long, so we were a little nervous about it because Stella is timid. Christina P asked us to bring Stella to her house a few days before our trip. We had a good feeling as soon as wet met her! Stella took to her right away. It took some getting used to that evening for Stella to feel comfortable with the other dogs (bc of her being so timid), but we left her home feeling confident that Stella would be in good hands. While we were on vacation, Christina was very good at sending photos of Stella in a very timely and consistent manner. When we brought Stella home after our trip, she didn’t skip a beat! She was very well adjusted after her 8 night, 9 day stay with Christina! We noticed no anxiety when we brought Stella home, and she went right to eating her food at her normal schedule. Our dog is an indoor/outdoor dog. He spends most of his time inside, but he likes to play outside in our fenced in yard during the day as long as the weather is good. We have a screened-in porch with a fan for him to rest in while he is outside, too. He is free to go in and out of it as he pleases. Our dog is free-fed, but we are also used to following feeding schedules from caring for our elderly dog who recently passed, as well as my family’s dogs. I provide a safe, supervised, and loving home environment with consistent care and attention. If desired, I can offer daily walks, whether your pets are boarding with me or receiving drop-in visits. I can also play fetch and provide medication administration, as I have a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Every dog deserves companionship and care.
