About: Although we are new to the area, we are definitely not new to caring for dogs. We recently purchased the well-known dog kennel in Smithsburg and are in the process of restoring it. One of the things I’m most proud of is the therapy work I did with my dog. I trained and certified her as a therapy dog, and for 10 years we volunteered together in hospitals and nursing homes. That experience actually inspired my career path, and I went on to become a certified occupational therapist. My sweet therapy dog has since passed away after a long and wonderful life. She was incredibly special to me. I’m now starting that journey again with my new puppy, Merango, and hope to continue therapy work in the future. About: I’ve taken care of dogs since I was a child. My friends and family rely on me for dog sitting when away, and my lab loves all other dogs! I currently work from home and don’t travel much on weekends. So I have time to walk, play, and take care of other pups. I take my lab out every 4 hours for a nice long walk, and we love going to dog parks and hiking if that’s something your pup likes to do as well! I’m in an apartment so walks are my go to for my lab. We go out every 4 hours or so, with a long walk in the morning before breakfast, a long walk at lunch, and a long walk in the evening. I trained my first German Shepherd at age 11 and placed second in obedience and showmanship competition. Have also grown up with having a cat. I am comfortable taking long walks with high energy dogs or spending time with cats who prefer a quiet cuddle session. I also have experience with senior dogs and cats. About: I have experience, taking care of cats, dogs, and chickens. I am willing to take care of smaller animals, such as hamsters, birds or guinea pigs as well. During the summer, I am home most days of the week. I am a full time teacher so I am off during the summer. Therefore I am very reliable and flexible with times. I have a fenced in yard that’s big enough for dogs to get some exercise. I have two kids who enjoy seeing and meeting new animals.

They are very attentive, they do a meeting before the drop off day, they truly want to make sure my furbaby will feel welcome and safe. They asked all the right questions, food, timing, snacks, what is he allowed or not to do and so on. They have a backyard which is great for my chocolate lab to play and they have a playful dog that was perfect for Rocco.
