About: I have two cats of my own. I’ve had them my whole life. The one is about to be 16 soon and he needs to wear a diaper whenever he’s roaming the house. Both of our cats were saved from the streets from a young age and we cared for them and still have them. I also go to college for animal studies and have kennel duties that require me to clean the cat room where theres like 10 cats in a night room. So, I know how to care for many cats at one time and for cats that need special treatment as well.

About: I’m a dog mom that works from home 95% of the time. With 4 dogs and almost an acre for a fenced in backyard, there is a lot of time for fun activities, cuddles, and the zoomies both in and outside of the house. I have experience with both puppies and elderly dogs, and have enough space throughout the house that either can be made comfortable in a space if needed. My daily AND weekly routine are very flexible as I can adjust my own schedule when needed. Even on work hours, I have a lot of free time on my hands that allow for short walks or some fun activities in the yard. My dogs always have time made for them, so I would love to include your pups in our free time. My backyard is fenced in and is a very large plot to allow for a quick stretch of the legs and multiple potty breaks. Smaller dogs will be taken on a leash as the fence is a rail type fence, but larger dogs will be allowed to roam freely around the yard. If your pups are not dog friendly it is a MUST know so that space can be separated from my own, but still allow them room to run and grow comfortable in a new space. Dogs are let out every 1-3 hours, depending on what is needed and can be adjusted as needed.

The best days for me to care for your pet in Lancaster or York are Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and weekends. If requested, I may be able to accommodate services in Lancaster on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons. I thrive on routines and like to keep somewhat of a normal routine for my dog. This includes feedings, giving medications, multiple walks, and enrichment activities (in or outside, depending on weather). My dog has anxiety and spring/summer are the most difficult for her, so I keep on music or background sounds while in the house, and make sure she is always on a leash when outside. I am willing and open to following any routines you have for your pet, however, I am not comfortable with electric fences or shock collars. I always have my phone easily accessible and am a quick communicator, so I can provide pictures, texts, or calls as requested if you’d like to check up on your fur baby.

“Amanda was just what we were looking for! Our fur baby is a11 year old Golden Retriever with some heath issues. We really wanted to find a caring person with children( she loves kids) we knew this would cheer her up,and we were right! As a matter of fact when we picked her up it was almost like she wanted to stay! She was depressed for the first day we brought her home, which to us it was a good sign that she had a good time! We will be bringing her to Amanda in October. I highly recommend her!”

Accommodations were well suited for her since she likes attention and was able to make friends with other dogs. Michaela is nice and professional. The home is clean and safe for dogs with a fenced in yard. I always plan at the last minute but that wasn't a problem. I received swift responses. This was our first time using Rover but were very happy with the experience.”
