About: With 3 fur babies of my own, being a cat caretaker for friends and family, and previous experience working alongside my college town cat rescue, I've learned and gained a wealth of knowledge over the past 5+ years. I personally keep my babies on a feeding schedule, including bedtime and treats. Their litter boxes are cleaned once a day and their personal room is vacuumed two to three times a week. I do my best to dedicate 30-40 minutes of play time a day with them, if they are willing to engage. Sometimes, they prefer to snuggle and that's never something I'll turn down. I take pride in the fact that I am well educated in animal behavior and recognizing body language signals, which I heavily take into account when caring for a new friend. About: I live on an acre of land with more than half of it being yard With more than half of it being Space. I am able to create a bond with animals by giving them affection, attention, and treats. For walking appointments, my schedule is flexible between 10 AM and 7 PM But I’m also available to to offer overnight boarding care and check-in. About: I grew up with dogs and have loved animals my entire life. I have been a pet sitter for many friends and neighbors over the years and had my own canine companion for 10 years. She passed away in November of 2023. Animals deserve to be loved and treated like family. About: I've always enjoyed being around animals, and over the years I've had the chance to care for both dogs and cats for family. I've watched my girlfriend's family's three senior cats (now 15, 14, and 21 years old) several times while they've been out of town, making sure they're fed, have fresh water, and keeping their litter boxes clean. Caring for a 21-year-old cat has taught me how important patience and consistency are with senior pets. I've also cared for my brothers' dogs—a 5-year-old Siberian Husky and a 7-year-old German Shepherd/Husky mix—sometimes for several days at a time. That includes feeding, walks, playtime, bathroom breaks, and giving them plenty of attention. I'm comfortable with high-energy dogs as well as older cats and always treat every pet like they're my own. I'm currently a full-time student finishing my last semester of college while working part time as a digital forensics intern. During the summer, my internship is Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., and I'm available for pet care anytime after my internship each day. Once the fall semester begins, my internship is on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, while my classes are on Tuesdays and Thursdays until 4:00 p.m. I'm also available most evenings and weekends, so I have a very flexible schedule and am happy to work around you and your pet's needs. Whether I'm caring for pets in my home or visiting them in theirs, I always focus on making sure they feel safe, comfortable, and respected. About: I am a big dog lover and I have grown up around all sorts of animals. I love to hike and will take your dog with me! I also love cuddles, playing fetch, and anything else that your dog likes. My pup is an escape artist so I have a dog gate that prevents dogs from getting out of my front door when I open it. If your dog is a puller on leash, I am very used to that! :) I am a big believer in positive training--I am happy to take puppies/dogs that are sensitive/need some extra help warming up. I think that fear-based/negative reinforcement training (things like yelling at dogs/pinning them to the ground--things that trainers still unfortunately do) are very bad and hurtful for dogs. You can assured that your dog will only receive encouragement and pets and treats at my house :) Also, one of my dogs has a disease that requires a daily pill and monthly shot, so I am very familiar with injections and pills. (I take medicine very seriously as I know the consequences can be dire of missing a dose). A little about me: I grew up in Montana and recently moved to Storrs upon graduation with my BA; I am looking to earn a little additional income and spend some time with dogs. I am a graduate student at UConn in the department of economics, currently. My schedule is fairly flexible and allows me to get home often. About: I have cared for my own animals my whole life and have just recently said goodbye to my dog of 15 years. Though my family is not ready quite yet for another member, we miss having a dog in the house and would love to help care for yours! I love all animals, but have always had a special place in my heart for dogs. I work full time, but am fortunate enough to have the flexibility to work from home when needed so your furry pals will not go long stretches without love and attention! Our yard is partially fenced, however we have a lead for dogs outside, as well as the equipment and precautions to keep your pets safe if needed like crates, gates, etc. Our two cats are very friendly and good with dogs. They do spend most of their time on the second floor, so your pet would have free rein of our first floor!
