I worked as an animal care associate at the Humane Society of Chittenden County in Burlington, VT, where I learned safe handling techniques, gained medical knowledge, and cared for a wide variety of breeds and behavioral cases. “Christy has watched Peach throughout her entire life; sometimes it was a weekly basis, a few times she watched her at a last minute Emergency notice, and had even boarded her over a long weekend. Peach isn't a big fan of humans but loves going to Christy's, getting to visit with her friends. Peach loves her dog Louie and playing with the other pups that she takes care of. I enjoy the photo updates, I am happy that Peach feels safe and I feel comforted while she is in Christy's care, and that Christy allows the dogs on the furniture-Peach even got to sleep in bed when she stayed. About: I don’t have much experience with dogs if I’m being honest. The only experience I had with a dog was with a baby pitbull and that was for about a year. That being said, despite my lack of experience I am willing to learn. My love for animals in general is why I am open to learning. I will still provide the same love, care and affection for a dog as I would a cat. My daily and weekly routine is very open for pet care. I am currently on maternity leave so I have lots of availability throughout my days. I treat them like their family and not strangers or “just for the money type of thing”. We recently said goodbye to our senior Boston Terrier in January of this year. We have owned multiple Boston Terriers for the past 20 years. I also recently fostered a Goberian (half Golden Retriever/half Husky) for 4 months so am comfortable with large dogs as well as small. I work a hybrid schedule that I manage myself so can be home most of the time with your pet. If I do need to be in the office I am only gone for 4-5 hours at a time. I have a fenced in, brick courtyard that's great for quick potty breaks and lounging in the sun. But I also really enjoy long walks so can accomodate whatever your pet prefers. Happy to discuss everything and will do whatever is best for your pet. We also own a Syrian Hamster named Cookie Dough that is completely secure in her enclosure. Your pet would have to be ok with children (extra play time for your pet) because I have a 9 year old daughter who is here most of the time. I will be the person providing care to your pet 100% of the time. At no time will my child be responsible for or left alone with your pet. Any additional questions, please ask. We are not yet ready for our own full time dog and we miss having one around so I figured we would give Rover a try. Look forward to meeting you and your pet. “Wow! Krista is just fantastic. We’ve used several Rover sitters over the years and she is hands down the absolute best. Clear communication, flexible, great house and yard. Our dog had some special needs and she managed to listen to all of our laundry list of instructions. Plus, her dog Griffin is so well tempered and got along so well with our dog. They played every day. I picked my dog up to spend about an hour with him and when I brought my dog back to Krista’s, his tale was wagging like crazy just to get back into her home! And my dog has pretty intense separation anxiety! Krista is a true “dog person” and has the intuition and experience to take great care of your pup.”
