About: Hello there, I am a certified Veterinary technician, I have been in wildlife and small animal care for the past 14 years while dog sitting on the side. I am new to the Pittsburgh area and looking to find new clients! My previous experience includes zookeeping and wildlife rehabilitation in the Boston area for 7 years and then working for a professional dog sitting/hiking company in Medford MA for another 5 years. I moved to Pittsburgh to get my CVT (Certified Veterinary Technician license) in 2024, and now work at a lovely little small animal clinic. I am also very experienced with exotics, particularly birds. I work full time Monday-Friday so I am primarily seeking weekend and holiday pet-sitting arrangements. I cannot currently offer in my own home pet care due to landlord request, but I have been dog/cat/house sitting in clients homes for 14 years and am experienced with maintaining specific pet routines and training schedules. I have a leave no trace policy when it comes to other peoples homes. I am also very happy to water plants and manage aquarium care as needed. I also do not drink or party, I just need a sofa and a good book.

About: Hi, I am Mamie (I have gone by Mamie since birth but am technically named Mary) and I am a lifelong pet person, and professional sitter. I am relatively new to Rover specifically, but am in my 40's and have cared for other people's pets for over 15 years, both here in Pittsburgh and in Seattle where I am originally from. I am fully privately insured for pet sitting and dog walking and carry broadened property damage coverage, animal bailee coverage and veterinary reimbursement coverage. I do two check ins a day with lots of pictures, and am a quick responder to messages (my average response time is 6 min). My most consistent feedback is that i am very communicative and professional, and that owners feel secure and never worry about their pets well-being when they are with me! My mother was a vet tech and I grew up rescuing many animals, and continued that tradition into adulthood, so I have ample experience in a multitude of pet types and situations I work as a housekeeper around the Pittsburgh area from about 7am-3pm mon-thursday, so will not be available in the home or for potty breaks during those hours. The absolute longest I would leave a pet during a house-sitting is 8 hours on those days, but quite often it's only 4-6 hours that i am working. All other outings/errands would be less than four hours, tops, but usually only about an hour. I am comfortable with more or less any pet, from rodents to lizards and I am not squirmish about even the creepy crawlies and slithery noodles. I can and have given almost every kind of medication there is, including subcutaneous injections, and am comfortable doing so with care and compassion and confidence. I am clean, responsible, and trustworthy. I will only take jobs with a meet and greet beforehand, and you can get a feel for my vibe and professionalism at that time, but I am sure you will like me and feel comfortable having me in your home. As a housekeeper I am used to going into strangers homes and having a high level of integrity and care for their space and belongings. I also am very clean and fastidious. I keep things looking like I wasn't there as much as possible, and will clean litter boxes daily and change water bowls daily and do deep cleans of water fountains 1x a week. I work as a housekeeper from 7am-3pm mon-thursday around the greater Pittsburgh area. If you have multiple dogs who need round the clock supervision and you book me at least three weeks before the sitting start date, than we could work that out and I could block out my housekeeping schedule for that time and just be available for the sitting job (my rates will be increased in this situation as I am priced for my current availability, not constant care and being unable to make my normal wages during the sit). In clients homes I am respectful, clean, tidy, responsible and trustworthy. I mind my business and am not judgemental. I will spend lots of time loving and socializing your pets, and I set alarms and try to keep potty breaks frequent to avoid accidents and less stress.

About: What sets me apart is how comfortable and patient I am with all kinds of pet personalities. I know every dog and cat is different, some are energetic and playful, while others may be shy or need a little extra time to warm up. I’m attentive to each pet’s routine and individual needs, whether that means walks and playtime, lots of attention, or simply giving them a comfortable and calm environment. I’m also comfortable caring for pets of different ages and adjusting to the specific instructions their owners provide. My full-time job offers a lot of flexibility since I build my own schedule and have the ability to work remotely rather than being in the office every day. This makes it easy for me to fit pet care into my routine and adjust my availability day-to-day. Whether it’s walks, drop-ins, or spending a little extra time with your pet, I’m able to plan my schedule around their needs and make sure they’re getting plenty of attention and care! I’m most comfortable with the everyday care that keeps pets happy, healthy, and comfortable while their owners are away. This includes feeding, fresh water, walks, bathroom breaks, playtime, exercise, and of course plenty of attention and company! I’m also happy to follow any specific routines or instructions you have for your pet. My experience is primarily with general pet care rather than grooming, so I like to focus on making sure pets feel safe, cared for, and stick as closely to their normal routine as possible.
“Somdipa watched my Boston terrier, Dude, while I went on vacation for a week, and everything went great! I felt confident that he was well taken care of the whole time. Dude didn't want to leave, so I could tell he had a fun time. Would be very happy to have Somdipa watch Dude again in the future!”
