I worked as an animal care associate at the Humane Society of Chittenden County in Burlington, VT, where I learned safe handling techniques, gained medical knowledge, and cared for a wide variety of breeds and behavioral cases. “Shelly watched our dog for a few hours on relatively short notice so that we could go to a Pirates game. She was flexible with drop off, and walked the dog a couple of times in a few hours, which was just what the dog needed after 8 hours in the car. She also took the dog to the local dog park without issue. $72 was a little pricey for 4 hours of daycare, and we didn't get pictures like we expected (I see some were taken, so maybe it was an app issue), but all in all it was basically just what we needed and we're grateful!”

About: I brought our two cats, Chili and Lok-Lok, all the way from China, but I grew up with dogs in my family and love both. About: I don’t have much experience with dogs if I’m being honest. The only experience I had with a dog was with a baby pitbull and that was for about a year. That being said, despite my lack of experience I am willing to learn. My love for animals in general is why I am open to learning. I will still provide the same love, care and affection for a dog as I would a cat. My daily and weekly routine is very open for pet care. I am currently on maternity leave so I have lots of availability throughout my days. I treat them like their family and not strangers or “just for the money type of thing”. If the client has special requests as far as how they would want their pet taken care of, I would follow those requests and update the clients along the way.

We recently said goodbye to our senior Boston Terrier in January of this year. We have owned multiple Boston Terriers for the past 20 years. I also recently fostered a Goberian (half Golden Retriever/half Husky) for 4 months so am comfortable with large dogs as well as small. I work a hybrid schedule that I manage myself so can be home most of the time with your pet. If I do need to be in the office I am only gone for 4-5 hours at a time. I have a fenced in, brick courtyard that's great for quick potty breaks and lounging in the sun. But I also really enjoy long walks so can accomodate whatever your pet prefers. Happy to discuss everything and will do whatever is best for your pet. We also own a Syrian Hamster named Cookie Dough that is completely secure in her enclosure. Your pet would have to be ok with children (extra play time for your pet) because I have a 9 year old daughter who is here most of the time. I will be the person providing care to your pet 100% of the time. At no time will my child be responsible for or left alone with your pet. Any additional questions, please ask. We are not yet ready for our own full time dog and we miss having one around so I figured we would give Rover a try. Look forward to meeting you and your pet. I own my home and I have a fenced balcony that pups can relax on and enjoy the weather instead of being cooped up inside. I have an unfenced yard for potty breaks. If your pet needs to be crated, you will need to provide that as I do not have a crate here. As far as visits in your home, I will follow whatever instructions you provide and treat your home and pet(s) as my own. About: I have owned dogs most of my life, but currently have none of my own, so I enjoy watching other people’s! I work from home so I’m pretty flexible with my schedule and don't mind staying over night to take care of a pooch or cat. I love all dogs, any shape or size. I'm doing this partly to help dog owners out but also to get myself out there and exercising. Taking long walks are great, what better way than with a dog in hand! I don’t mind longer stays or difficult animals. I have plenty of experience with both. I own two cats and can handle even the most moody feline. I’m an all around animal lover and would love to watch yours!

About: I have owned my rescue dog Rita for five years, and grew up caring for cat and in dogs in my household. Rita is a high-energy dog who requires lots of exercise and has developed some special needs as she has gotten older. I will give any pet the care and attention that I give to Rita! I am generally available for walks and drop-in visits in the afternoons, evenings, and weekends. I have some flexibility to meet additional needs, as well. I keep my dog leashed and at my side whenever we are on a walk and closely monitor her when she is interacting with other dogs or people. I am happy to treat your pets with the same attentive care that I give to Rita!

“For years I’ve struggled with not having a support system in place to feel at ease when going on vacation with my dog. I may not have a close family to do so but I do have Kasey and Alyssa. These two watched my bulldog Frank and did an amazing job. Cared about all my concerns and over protective dog dad issues.
