About: I’ve had at least one pet in my house since I was a baby. At my peak as a teenager, we had 3 dogs and 2 cats. I’ve had a very sweet cat for the last 10 years and cared for many dogs in between. Knowledgeable in basic training skills for dogs as I had a hand in all our dog trainings growing up. My schedule varies, but can make most things work with advance notice. Evenings and weekends would be best! I do work full time and am looking to use Rover as an opportunity to meet lots of friendly pets more than a primary income. I am open to most pet care strategies and am willing to adjust to your needs. I have definitely had crated dogs in the past and totally understand that sometimes a muzzle or other restraint techniques is necessary as a dog gets used to their surroundings. I have experience with both friendly and not-so-friendly cats and understand how to meet their needs.
“This was our first time leaving our dog, Bernie, with Shona (for an entire week) and we can’t say enough good things about the care he received. We consider our dog to be a member of the family and we were initially nervous about leaving Bernie with a stranger. But Shona met with us ahead of time, and we could tell she was warm and caring. After the first day we could tell that Bernie was well taken care of and happy while there. We received multiple pictures daily of Bernie doing things he only does when he is relaxed (cuddling, belly rubs, passing out on the couch). Bernie cuddled witwh her teenage kids. Shona was very communicative and immediately responsive. We immediately booked her for our next vacation. We highly recommend Shona and will use her in the future for all of our boarding needs.”

Any other time would be spent taking your pet on walks, brushing out their fur, giving them treats and all the attention they deserve! I can stay with/walk pets before work on weekdays. Weekends I would be unable to walk them unless you are okay with my hours and I am doing overnight or long term pet sitting. We consider our dog to be a member of the family and we were initially nervous about leaving Bernie with a stranger. But Shona met with us ahead of time, and we could tell she was warm and caring. After the first day we could tell that Bernie was well taken care of and happy while there. We received multiple pictures daily of Bernie doing things he only does when he is relaxed (cuddling, belly rubs, passing out on the couch). Bernie cuddled witwh her teenage kids. Shona was very communicative and immediately responsive. We immediately booked her for our next vacation. We highly recommend Shona and will use her in the future for all of our boarding needs.”

“We have never boarded our 2 yr old dog Niki before and after a previous afternoon visit that went really well, went with Amanda for a first boarding experience we needed. Amanda was wonderful! She assured us regularly with notes and pictures of our Niki doing well, playing with the other dogs and seemingly happy. When we picked up Niki she was happy to see us but it also was evident she had a positive experience and was not anxious at all. Seemed like Niki had attached herself to Amanda as well! So glad to have found Amanda and her set up for boarding. She is very nice, clearly a terrific dog lover, and the area for dog play is large and inviting. We will absolutely use Amanda again when we need boarding. Great place!”

About: I have been taking care of dogs my entire life and have owned five dogs over the years. I have experience with Chihuahuas, Pit Bulls, Dachshunds, Terriers, and Chiweenies. Having cared for dogs throughout my life, I understand how to properly care for our four-legged companions and am committed to ensuring they are happy, healthy, and well looked after. I am available Friday through Sunday, as well as before and after my college classes Monday through Thursday. I also have flexibility around my part-time job at a food restaurant, allowing me plenty of time to provide attentive, reliable care for your four-legged companions. Caring for pets is something I truly enjoy, and I will treat them with the same love and attention I give my own. I live near two dog parks in a walkable area, making it easy to provide your four-legged companion with plenty of exercise when needed. I also have a variety of dog toys to keep them entertained and engaged. If I am caring for your pet in your home, I will bring dog waste bags and a few of their favorite toys—or some of my own—to ensure they have a fun and comfortable experience.
