Highly-rated overnight sitters - Independence
About: I'm a huge animal lover - big and small! I've had dogs and cats my whole life. We have a sweet cat who absolutely loves every dog that comes through our home. We currently have a Great Dane and Great Pyrenees as well as chickens, 1 guinea pig, 2 rabbits and fish. I'm all about making sure our babies are happy and healthy and living the best life we can provide to them. After doing much research and lots of experience, I've learned a lot about a dog's language and how to respect them. I will treat your pets as if they are my own and will love on them just the same. I can't wait to meet your fur-babies! Rover is my full time job right now so I’m available to take care of your pup throughout the day as need be, whether that’s just hanging out or a walk or potty break, etc. I have a large fenced in yard and our 2 dogs will gladly keep your pup company and enjoy running around. I can easily crate if need be as well.
“Monica and her family exceeded our expectations in taking care of our babies. From the get go Monica was very professional and diligent in understanding our dogs needs, schedules, etc. She sent us daily updates and photos, which were so nice to see as this was our first time using Rover. They always seemed to come at a great time when we thought “I hope they’re doing okay and we miss them” Overall our experience was a 10/10, our dogs had an amazing time, and we will absolutely use Monica again!”

“Heather was great! She watched my two kitties long term, they can be a handful and she was great with them! She also accommodated my specific needs and took them last minute! Will definitely use again if needed!”

“This was the best pet sitting experience we could have hoped for! It is our first time using Rover and Laurie was an absolute delight. She treated Sadie as if she were her own and updated us daily with photos. We will 100% recommend and use her again ! 10/10!”

“Lindsay and her family were so sweet and accommodating. They went out of their way to learn about my puppy and sent updates. They were there when I needed them. Thank you!”

“Cassandra took excellent care of our 8 year black Lab (Lambeau). We are fairly new in the area and have always had our dog stay with family and friends during our travels. I was so comfortable with Cassandra during our Meet and Greet I didn’t hesitate at all about leaving our dog with her and her family for 7 days! Our dog has a little anxiety regarding walking on hardwood/ tile floors and she went the extra mile to insure he was comfortable in her home, by allowing me to bring runners, rugs so he could come and go in her home/yard! She sent pictures which we so appreciated. We will definitely use her again.”
“A last minute callout for work brought us to Kaitlyn, and we are so blessed that it did. One of our three dogs isn't a great traveller and needed a home for a couple days. Kaitlyn was able to take her and from minute one it was a perfect experience. Great yard and sleep space for our girl. Great updates and videos of how the stay unfolded. Optional elevated care like grooming and special treats. Kaitlyn is a true care-giver and our pup was in the best hands. If you need a temporary home for your beloved four-legged fur-baby, look no further. Thank you, Kaitlyn!”

“Cheryl is impossibly lovely. Our dog is a nervous boarder - he often struggles the first few days. But he didn't spend a single night in his crate while in Cheryl's care. She was super flexible with the start and end time of our stay and clearly gave our pupper a second home while we were away. We couldn't ask for a better experience.”

“Maria and her husband did a great job taking care of Munch. They kept me updated regularly with adorable photos of Munch enjoying their company, the company of their dogs, and their large, fenced yard. I would use them again without hesitation.”
“Emily and Patrick were wonderful! From the beginning, they were asking thoughtful questions about Ruby's needs, routine, and personality. Their dog, Eli, became a new fur friend to our pup, Ruby and the photos and videos they shared while we were away gave us peace of mind. They were also accommodating as we had to change our drop off and pick up times. We will definitely be booking them again!”

“Stacey was very promt in her responses and accommodating to my shifting schedule! Our GS had a wonderful time running around with her mastiffes and returned healthy and happy to us! We would definitely let our doggo stay with her again!”

“We had great experience with Jena and Nick. Dexter received lots of love, personal attention, playtime, daily walks. Their pet Sebastian was a very nice dog and became great buddy of Dexter in a short time. They have a very nice and clean fenced backyard too. Dexter really enjoyed his time with Jena, Nick and Sebastian… We really appreciate their effort in making sure Dexter felt it at home…Thank you Jane, Nick and Sebastian for being so lovely to Dexter.”

“Rocky very much enjoyed his stay. Loved playing with the other dogs. Got pictures and videos of him having a great time! Would definitely recommend Nick and Marissa for a safe environment. Will definitely use them again”

“Alisha was so wonderful with our cat! We felt so relaxed knowing that she was checking in on her and she sent the sweetest pictures and updates! We will definitely be reaching out again for the next time we need someone to care for Luna. 😊”

About: I have about two years of experience caring for cats and am comfortable administering medications, including insulin injections. I'm not one to shy away from a challenge—I have been able to hold and manage cats with strong personalities while making sure they receive the care they need. I love getting to know each cat's unique personality and I always try to respect their boundaries. I understand how important personal space can be, especially for cats, and I let them set the rules for interactions. Whether your cat wants lots of cuddles or prefers quiet companionship, I'm happy to provide the care and attention they need. I treat every pet as if they were my own, giving them patience, love, and attentive care. I would love to make sure they feel safe, comfortable, and loved while you're away. 🥰
“Ashley was great! She stopped in to check up on our two cats. She’s friendly, on time and instilled confidence. I look forward to rebooking with Ashley on future needs. Thanks Ashley!!”

“Corinne is truely an exceptional Pet Sitter. She was our best Christmas present, as we booked her last minute (after a scheduled visit was cancelled). Our 20 yr. old kitty, normally pretty shy with strangers, fell in love with her on 1st meeting and let Corinne hold & pet her on every visit. She was the best communicator, sending lots of pictures and short messages. We are so happy and thankful to have found Corinne and will definitely book her again!”

“Grace was patient and calm with Bailey, who’s a bit skittish and unsure with new people. Bailey relaxed around her quicker than she does with most people. Thanks Grace!”

“This is the second time I’ve used Kaitlin and absolutely love her taking care of my kitty. Makes traveling so much easier and feeling way less guilty as she takes great care of her and shows up and spends quality time with her.”

“Cassandra and her children took great care of our cat when we were on vacation! They gave him lots of playtime interaction and pets during each drop-in visit. Cassandra also took care to keep our cat's bathroom and feeding areas tidy. We really appreciated the text updates and pictures during each visit. It was a positive first experience using Rover and we will definitely reach out to Cassandra to care for our cat again in the future. I would highly recommend her - thanks Cassandra!”

About: Howdy y'all! My name is Shane. I have two cat children named Princess Yue and Waffles. They are my absolute pride and joy. For as long as I can remember, I have always had a special connection to cats. As most cat owners are aware, these amazing little animals are truly special. As a veteran, a huge part of helping me manage my disabilities has been the companionship of cats. I am always looking for an excuse to see or pet a cat. I have looked after my own childhood cats, stray cats, and friends' cats, and I am looking to further expand my experience while helping you and your cat! Whether it's growing up with a cat in my life at all times, summoning street cats with a "pspsps," making friends with barn cats, or understanding the gift of being a cat parent, I will take care of your pride and joy with the utmost respect, patience, and love.

“Erin was a total joy to have sitting in my home. She fulfilled her work schedule and returned to my 2 Maine Coons. She is gentle, respectful, and kind to my kitties, and worked well with my one shy kitty, who sought refuge under my bed. I am very pleased with her care, and will definitely use her again! She also took care to leave my home as she found it. What a joy! Roslyn”

“Cassandra was WONDERFUL! My cats were happy when I got home, but I could tell that they were lovingly cared for. Cassandra sent me pictures every day and messaged me to see if there was anything else that she could do for me. The house was immaculate when I came home and the sheets were washed. I would HIGHLY recommend this lovely caring young lady!”

“Brianna takes such good care of my pets when I’m away! My cats wait for her by the door with each visit. My babies are so friendly and social that it’s hard to leave them, and my cat needs daily meds. Brianna spends time with them in addition to daily care tasks like food, litterbox, and water! She even cares for my pet pigeon! I come home from trips to a house that’s clean like I left it and happy kitties! She takes the best check in photos and is so thoughtful and kind.”

“Alisha has been my regular sitter for about 2 months now & I feel very lucky to have found her! My dog, Cooper, is treated like part of the family & is always worn out when he gets home. I feel confident that he is safe & I still get consistent updates on what they’re up to all day. She is one of the best you could find!”

“Booked doggy daycare for the day and as always Cassandra was great! My husband and I have peace of mind while we are away because we know our puppy is in good hands. Cassandra sends updates/pictures and stays in communication. Best part is that our puppy loves her and her family!”

“Michael and his wife are honestly the best. They take such good care of our Millie and her tag starts wagging as soon as she knows she’s going to their home. She has a wonderful time with them and her furry friends and comes home worn out!”

“Basil came home tired and worn out. I think she had a good time staying at Heather's with her man, and the kids! Would recommend her! Shes punctual with replying back, very informative, and fairly prices, and she accommodated basil with her special need.”

“We love Wendy. My only regret is that I didn't find her sooner. We've moved too far away now, but she was so great to help us with last minute doggy daycare when we had a day of house showings before our move. We will miss her. She pampers the pets that stay with her. It's obvious that they become part of her extended family. You will not regret booking Wendy, I promise.”
“I dropped my puppy off for a daycare for the first time! Tara was very nice and she sent me photos and progress reports regularly throughout that day! Will definitely be using her again ?”

About: With over 20 years of hands-on experience caring for dogs of all breeds, ages, and personalities, I provide a calm and structured environment where every animal feels secure and cared for. Your pet will be staying in our home's dedicated and separate room that has direct access to a half acre, surrounded by 6-foot privacy fencing, ideal for a safe play and exercise. I am a certified Yellow Dog Walker through Animal Friends and specialize in positive reinforcement, earning each dog’s trust through patience, consistency, and respect. Dogs from different households are introduced carefully and only if both owners approve. Every dog in my care follows a reliable routine built around their owner’s preferences. Feeding, playtime, cuddle breaks, and outdoor exercise are all kept on schedule, with regular potty breaks every few hours to maintain comfort and consistency. I am experienced in administering oral and topical medications, as well as muscular injections. In the rare event of an emergency, I act quickly and responsibly by providing first aid, contacting the owner immediately, and working with their veterinarian or PVSEC, which is 15 minutes away, if advanced care is needed. Boarding, overnight care, and in-home sitting are all available. Clients receive daily photo and video updates to stay connected and reassured. My family takes pride in maintaining a clean, attentive, and loving environment. Choosing our care means your pet is treated with the same responsibility, structure, and affection we give our own. Pet care is fully integrated into my daily routine, as I work from home full time boarding horses. I maintain a structured schedule that begins early in the morning with feeding, medication administration if needed, and outdoor time in the fenced yard. Throughout the day, I rotate between play sessions, walks, and quiet time to keep pets balanced and comfortable. Evening routines include another round of feeding, bathroom breaks, and wind-down time before bed. For boarding and overnight care, I remain on-site to ensure consistent supervision. I plan my workday and personal schedule around the animals’ needs so no pet is ever left waiting for attention or care. Every pet in my care is treated with the same level of safety and respect as my own. My home and facility are designed for secure, low-stress care, featuring a half-acre yard enclosed by a six-foot privacy fence where dogs can exercise freely under supervision. I never mix pets from different households unless both owners confirm compatibility. Feeding areas, bedding, and play equipment are cleaned and sanitized regularly. I monitor all pets closely for signs of stress, discomfort, or illness and respond immediately. In the rare event of an emergency, I apply first aid, contact the owner, and consult their veterinarian or PVSEC if advanced care is required. Trust is built through consistency, transparency, and communication, with daily photo or video updates provided to owners for peace of mind.
About: Growing up I always had a dog and cats. They bring so much joy into my life. I am currently taking time off from nursing as we had our first son in August. So I am a stay at home mom. My husband and I have an English Cream Golden Retriever who is now 5 years old! I have experience training puppies, giving medications, walking dogs. Very flexible. Occasionally might have to have my 10 month old son with me for drop ins or walks. Would want to make sure cats/dogs are comfortable around kids. Thanks! They would get a lot of outside time! Large yard in the woods. Can keep them on a leash if needed as it is not fenced in.
About: I've owned Golden Retrievers my entire life, groom them, trim them, train them, treat them! There's plenty of room for them to stay active whether it's inside or out. They will be a part of our family while they are with us. I have a fenced in yard, making it easy for your pet to be safe and get some exercise too. I have been watching dogs in my home for about 25 years. I work from home Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, and I am gone on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday from about 10-4, so I am almost always home aside from the occasional errands. Your dog will never be in trouble if this happens. You won’t have to worry about your dogs when they are with me. They will be treated like family. About: I've been a dog owner for 16 years. I currently have a sweet German Shepherd puppy and in the past I've had a German Shepard, a boxer/lab mix and a full boxer. My family and I are also on the go a lot, so I understand needing help with the dogs when you're out of town. I'm excited to help take care of your fur baby while you're taking time away! I work full-time from home with a relatively flexible schedule. I am available to stop in the mornings and afternoons to let your pups out or to feed them. Evenings vary, but just ask and I'll see if I can make it work! I am unable to care for pets at my home at this time, but I am happy to follow any instructions you may have for caring for your pet at your home.
“We have used him twice and he went above and beyond both times walking my dog, from taking him in his car to a better location for a walk to potty breaks and putting him back in his cage and setting it up the way it was before for his anxiety I would absolutely recommend to anyone”

About: I have 3 pets of my own that I love so so much (2 cats and a dog). I have always cared for my neighbors pets as they have relied on me for the past few years every now and then. I have experience with both cats and dogs and have been pet sitting locally for 3 or 4 years now. I am comfortable with walking, feeding, and bathing pets. Hopefully you can rely on me to look after your pets this summer! I am currently in college at Duquesne University and am looking for some extra work this summer. I am looking to start work at a daycare part time but not until later so I thought this opportunity would be perfect. I will have plenty of free time until then to look after your pets! I have 2 cats and a dog who are my baby’s. I do not do boarding in my own home due to a temperament issue of our younger cat, but gladly will visit your fur baby’s and care for them that way! I am very trustworthy and can communicate well if there are any issues. I know some animals have dietary restrictions and such and will make sure to follow any instructions of care necessary.

“Cassandra was so great! We had her walk our high energy boxer while on vacation and it was a gift knowing that he was getting the workout he needs while we were away. I’d love to use her again in the future!”

About: I’ve owned dogs and cats my whole life. I am very good with animals! I am happy to feed and play with your pet! I also have experience caring for disabled and aging pets and am able to administer any needed medication! I currently work on the week days only. So my weekends are completely free to play and take care of your pet! I will be sure to give them lots of love and attention! I will treat your pet like my own and ensure their happiness and safety! I also follow any rules, expectations, or instructions you have given me!
About: Hi, I actually go by Asher but Rover won't let me update my name yet. I'm a former direct support professional for disabled humans. Lydia was my first dog, a 75 pound shepherd mix with anxiety that I slowly trained because she came from living in a shelter her entire life. I know what it's like to worry about leaving your pet in a kennel where they can pick up diseases or pests, and they have dozens of animals to look after. In my home your pet would have their own space, be taken for walks regularly, and be given much more attention than at a kennel. Animals need attention in order to thrive, but sometimes busy lives make it hard to give all they deserve. Hiring help is the best way to meet their needs while you're taking care of the other parts of your life. March 2025 note: I am only able to do walks and drop ins at this time. My dog only accompanies me when prearranged with the owner's permission. I work overnights thurs-sat and have sun-weds free to do Rover care. Early mornings and evenings are best for me. I typically walk about 25k steps a day and can lift over 200lbs, so that carrying my 90lb dog in an emergency isn't an issue. This makes me ideal for large and giant pet owners, especially those with senior dogs. I have experience with senior and disabled pets. I've never hesitated to put an animal first when it's in distress, but my ideal is to help prevent your pets from ever becoming distressed in the first place. Have experience with high anxiety, reactive, and shy animals.
About: Animals have always been a huge part of my life. (my soul dog’s ashes are in my paw tattoo 🐾🩷) I grew up with Rottweilers and currently have two of my own, Gino & Haus, they're my whole world! I also have a handful of kitties🥰 My passion for animal care goes back as far as I can remember. From baby videos of me crawling on my dog and giving him a big hug & kiss, to completing a veterinary training class in 10th grade, where I learned the basics of animal health and handling! There even was one time I rescued two dogs on the side of the highway who had dug out of their backyard!! I now have about 3.5 years of hands-on experience working with animals, including two years at doggy daycares, where I've cared for dogs of all breeds, sizes, ages, and temperaments. I treat every pet like they're my own and I always try my best to give them a safe, loving, reliable person they can trust just as much as they trust you, no matter how long it takes them to warm up to me. Working with animals is more than just a job to me—it's what I love, and I plan to make it my lifelong career. I work at a doggy daycare with a flexible schedule, so my availability varies from week to week. I am almost always able to stay overnight for house sitting, and depending on my work schedule, I can spend all day, all morning, or all afternoon and evening with your baby. I always try to spend as much time as I can with your baby. (leaving work is as hard as you can imagine) My most common shift is 1:00 PM–7:00 PM, though I can also work morning, afternoon, and split shifts, though the weekday morning shifts are extremely rare. My weekday shifts are never longer than 6.5 hours, and the only time I may be away for up to 10 hours is on the occasional Saturday when I'm scheduled for a longer shift. On Sundays, I usually work split shifts, which means I'm able to come home and spend about 2½ hours with your pet between work periods. If it's a good fit for your baby and you're comfortable with it, I'd also be happy to talk about bringing them with me to my work so they can enjoy extra socialization, enrichment, and attention, while never leaving my side! I'm committed to keeping your babies routine as normal as possible and will always communicate my schedule ahead of time so you know exactly what to expect!! Your babies safety, happiness, and well-being are always my top priority. I love to take the time to learn each pet's routine, personality, and other special needs so they feel comfortable and cared for while you're away, as if you haven’t even left! I am experienced in administering medications, following food schedules, and providing extremely gentle and personal care. Walks, drop-in visits, or overnight stays, I'll always make sure your baby gets plenty of exercise, attention, playtime, and affection (and making sure they know it!!) while I keep their routine as normal and consistent as I possibly can! I treat every pet as if they were my own, and pay close attention to their behavior so I can quickly notice and respond accordingly with any changes or concerns. You will also always get regular updates and photos about how they were and their day!
“Leah did such a great job with our five month-old puppy, which is a tall order because he has A LOT of energy! She even took some time to work with him on a few tricks. I would highly recommend Leah as she is reliable, conscientious and very patient.”

“Brianne is a fantastic person and does a great job with our difficult 1 year old puppy. She has a level of patience and understanding of his needs. I can’t recommend her highly enough and would use her every day if I could.”

Whether it’s a long walk, a game of fetch, or a cozy cuddle session, I’ll make sure your pet feels loved and comfortable while you’re away. I’ll also keep you updated with plenty of photos and messages for peace of mind! Pet care fits naturally into my daily routine. I enjoy being active and spending time with animals, so caring for pets is something I genuinely look forward to. I believe every pet deserves individualized care based on their unique needs, personality, and routine. In a client’s home, I work to maintain their normal schedule by providing feeding, fresh water, walks, playtime, exercise, and lots of affection. I also make sure the home is kept clean and secure while you’re away. My goal is to help pets feel comfortable and stress-free in their familiar environment. I pay close attention to any special instructions, including medications, dietary needs, or behavioral preferences, and I provide regular updates and photos so owners can feel confident their pets are happy and well cared for.
“Our dogs absolutely love Brianna and so do we!! She’s really detail oriented and attentive to them and super kind and on top of bookings. We look forward to more bookings with Brianna.”

I assure that your fur babies will get exercise/play time, potty breaks, and any other special care they would need At your home, I’ll have no problem continuing your schedule with your fur baby. About: Caring for pets has always been part of my life, not just something I do, but something I truly love. I share my home with my big-hearted Golden Retriever Lucy Goose who brings joy, structure, and a lot of personality into my daily routine. Through her—and the many pets I’ve cared for—I’ve gained hands-on experience with feeding schedules, daily walks, playtime, enrichment, medications, and recognizing subtle changes in behavior or health. I’ve also had the joy of hosting pets with special needs, recently including a vivacious little pug puppy with epilepsy. Providing a calm, consistent, and loving environment is something I take pride in. Every pet in my care is treated with patience, respect, and genuine affection—just like one of my own. While away, your pet is my family and I am fiercely protective of my family. Hi, I’m Jess! I’m a lifelong animal lover and dog mom to a sweet Golden Retriever who’s very much part of my everyday life. Caring for pets is something that feels natural to me—it’s woven into my daily routine, not something squeezed in as an afterthought. My Lucy Goose is a large Golden Retriever with the sweetest, most gentle “little dog energy.” She’s very social, kind, and welcoming, and does wonderfully with dogs of all sizes. She has happily shared her space with smaller dogs and special-needs pets, and all interactions are always supervised to ensure everyone feels safe and comfortable. I work during the week for about 6–8 hours a day, and outside of that time my life revolves around walks, fresh air, playtime, and creating a calm, loving home. Pet care fits seamlessly into my schedule, and I’m intentional about making sure every pet in my care gets plenty of attention, affection, and consistency. I treat every pet like they’re my own—learning their quirks, honoring their routines, and making sure they feel safe and comfortable while you’re away. Whether your pet loves long walks, backyard playtime, or quiet companionship, I’m happy to meet them right where they are. I provide a safe, calm, and loving environment where pets can truly relax. My home includes a fully fenced backyard for secure outdoor play, and I supervise pets closely throughout the day. I also have a few pup gates to ensure safe calm and private pet feedings or if quiet time is needed. I also use cameras for added peace of mind and awareness while I am out and about. Whether pets are in my home or yours, I follow routines carefully, respect boundaries, and keep a watchful eye on behavior, comfort, and wellbeing.

“Rocky very much enjoyed his stay. Loved playing with the other dogs. Got pictures and videos of him having a great time! Would definitely recommend Nick and Marissa for a safe environment. Will definitely use them again”

“Nelia took excellent care of Daffy while our family was away! She sent us 2 to 3 updates each day, along with pictures of our dog, which gave us tremendous peace of mind. The photos showed that Daffy wasn't simply being boarded, but was truly being included in the family's daily activities. We could not be happier with the care and service Nelia provided. If you're in the Pittsburgh area and need a reliable, caring dog sitter, we highly recommend her. We will absolutely use her services again in the future. Thank you, Nelia, for taking such wonderful care of our fur baby!”

“Wendy took AMAZING care of our pup!!! She sent us tons of video of him during our trip and she even sent him home in a fancy outfit with a goodie bag!! I could not recommend her more!”

“Great communication, easy drop off and pick up, affordable rate, and our dog seemed very happy and comfortable to be. I think our dog loved pal’ing around with Chang’s friendly pup Valley because she came home completely tired out. Would definitely recommend and rebook.”

“Mary and her family took amazing care of our dog while we traveled. She updated us with photos and he couldn’t wait to get out of the car when I dropped him off. We absolutely recommend her for watching your fur babies!”

“Our dog Woody had a great stay with Victoria. It was our first time leaving him and we loved seeing the videos of him that she sent twice a day. She was easy to communicate with and very responsive to any questions. He came home happy and tired from playing with all of his friends.”

“Angela and Joseph were absolutely wonderful with Amelia and Zelda! From the very beginning, they were kind, attentive, and incredibly caring. I felt completely comfortable knowing my dogs were in such good hands.”
