“Boarding with Ellen was outstanding. We had a family emergency that made taking our large dog with us impossible. He’s five-years old and had never been away from home - I am sure it was challenging for him. While not aggressive or disobedient, at about 120lbs he can be intimidating. Ellen was clearly very comfortable with him during our meet and greet visit and was very confident he’d be fine with her. He absolute was! She made him very at home on her beautiful farmette with her pack of critters. They all looked clean and loved. I noted her calmness with the dogs and confidence in their interaction under her watchful eye. The dogs have plenty of space to run and socialize. She made sure we gave her his “regular” food and medications, and verified other foods he would be allowed to have. She sent regular updates and photos during his stay. Each action shot was accompanied by a thoughtful narrative of the photo. We really enjoyed pictures of his quiet time, napping with the other dogs in her home was comforting. They all looked content. We needed an extra day of boarding because of the unpredictability of our travel and Ellen made it so easy. Our dog made new friends and we did too.”

Her house has a huge fenced yard, surrounded by a woody area, which I think was perfect for Dublin. This is just a one-time boarding opportunity, as we were traveling through the area, but we'd certainly board our dog with ther again if we could.”

About: I have taken care of cats for years and absolutely love them! I’ve mostly cat sit for friends and neighbors. The only thing I would be uncomfortable with cats is giving them medicine.

About: I have grown up with dogs my entire life. I have experience with both large and small dogs breeds. I currently have 2 dogs- a golden retriever and a lab mix. I work a full- time job Monday- Friday 7-3, I am available evenings and weekends. I have holidays off and will also be available then. I'm good with animals I'm a hard worker and I would definitely take good care of your fur baby. I wake up walk the dogs feed them every two hours they go on a walk I like right by a dog park.bruah them bath them if they need it I go above and beyond for your fur baby's. About: I have a wide variety of experience with all sorts of animals. I’ve had large and small dogs, cats, rodents, amphibians, and lizards, I even had a pot belly pig, sheep & duck as a child. About: Although we are new to the area, we are definitely not new to caring for dogs. We recently purchased the well-known dog kennel in Smithsburg and are in the process of restoring it. Parts of the kennel are already fully functional, and we’re excited to begin welcoming dogs while we continue improving the property. It’s a place many people in the community already know, and we feel lucky to be able to carry on its history. Dogs have always been a big part of my life. I grew up with them and honestly can’t remember a time when I didn’t love being around them. That same love has followed me into adulthood. Over the years I’ve naturally become the neighborhood go-to pet sitter. Friends, neighbors, and family have trusted me with their pets for years, and I always care for them the same way I care for my own dogs — with patience, attention, and lots of affection. One of the things I’m most proud of is the therapy work I did with my dog. I trained and certified her as a therapy dog, and for 10 years we volunteered together in hospitals and nursing homes. That experience actually inspired my career path, and I went on to become a certified occupational therapist. My sweet therapy dog has since passed away after a long and wonderful life. She was incredibly special to me. I’m now starting that journey again with my new puppy, Merango, and hope to continue therapy work in the future. Right now I’m taking some time away from my occupational therapy work to focus on renovating and restarting the kennel. It’s something I’ve always dreamed about doing, and I’m excited to bring new life to a place that so many people in the community already know. I also have experience caring for senior dogs and dogs with medical needs, including giving medications like insulin injections. Our property has large outdoor fenced runs that give dogs plenty of space to move around and enjoy the fresh air in a quiet farm setting. injections. I’m currently focused on renovating and restoring the kennel property, which allows me to be home most of the day and provide consistent supervision and care for the dogs staying with us. We are early risers in our home and typically start the day around 7 AM with potty breaks and breakfast. Mornings are usually spent outside enjoying the property — going on walks around our 20-acre farm or spending time in the fenced runs while I do morning chores. Around lunchtime everyone, animals included, usually settles in for a quiet rest period. I check that everyone has fresh water and food if needed before nap time. In the mid-afternoon we head back outside for more activity. Depending on the dog, this may include running in the fenced fields, exploring the property on a guided walk, or simply relaxing in the fresh air. Dinner is around 6 PM, followed by a calm evening inside. We finish the day with a final potty break and check-in before bedtime around 9 PM. My goal is to give dogs a peaceful farm stay with plenty of space to move, fresh air, and a consistent routine so they feel comfortable and relaxed while they’re away from home I understand how much trust it takes to leave your dog in someone else’s care. When I first started using Rover for my own dogs, I remember feeling nervous too. I always appreciated sitters who kept me updated, so I make a point to do the same. I’m happy to send photos and updates so you can see how your dog is doing and feel confident they’re happy and well cared for. On our property, dogs have access to spacious individual indoor/outdoor kennel runs where they can relax comfortably. About: I’ve taken care of dogs ever since I was a kid, and I have experience with taking care of many different breeds, young and old. I love animals and will do everything I can to make yours comfortable and happy. Work is currently slow, so I have the time to give your pets all the attention they need. About: My entire life pretty much I've grown up around animals! I've had different rodent, and currently have 2 cats. The last 10ish years my family and I have cat/dog sat for multiple family members and friends. The last year I've cat sat for my neighbor multiple times. As far as regular work goes, I'm only doing part-time due to the limit on how many hours are being given. I'm also not enrolled in school, so my schedule has more than enough time to fit in some extra pet care. I have experience with giving medication (mostly pills), so if your fur baby has meds that are needed to be given, I'm more than willing. Like a lot of animals, I enjoy basking in the sun. So, taking your animals on long walks isn't an issue either. Your animals needs are my priority.

About: I love all animals. People call me the dog whisperer and say animals gravitate a lot towards me. I treat them with so much love and affection. I’d be happy to start your pets day with a good walk or play session, give them all the pets/cuddles, an afternoon exercise and a leisurely evening stroll. About: I have had dogs for the past 30 years. I am an approved foster home for a pug rescue. I have rescued several dogs! The last two years, I have been a dog walker! The dog I recently rescued was a client I walked whose mom was disabled. She needed more care than her mom could give her. We bonded from the first walk, and I knew I could be her forever home! I have a blind/deaf pug as well. I do a lot of housesitting and dogsitting it’s always a joy! My home is on an acre. I have my own business out of my home, and so I am home all day and your pet will not be left alone! I am home all day running my health coach business. Pet care will keep me busy and your animal happy..and the resident dogs will love having playmates! I do have a portion of my yard fenced in so the dogs have lots of room to run and play and be dogs. Dogs are rarely crated unless they are used to that and the owner request that they have time in their crate. I am home the majority of the time. I work from home on a part-time basis so I am with the dogs the majority of the time. When the dogs come to my home, it is like they are on their own little vacation. They have a good time playing with the other dogs and go home tired.
About: I am an absolute animal lover! I have had dogs, birds, fish, a cat, bunnies, mice, lizards, guinea pig, and hamsters! I have been around animals since I was probably about 4 or 5 years old. My grandpa gave me my very first dog (a beagle named Lady) and it was love at first site. Ever since, I have always had a dog! I currently have an almost 12 year old staffy mix named Stoli and 12 fish (mixed kinds). Stoli and I always enjoy a good run or hike or trip to the lake for a swim. After working at the animal hospital I enrolled in school to become a Certified Dog Trainer, which I completed several years ago. I then started volunteering at a local animal shelter where I helped work with the dogs before getting adopted and sometimes after. About: Over the years I have taken care of many pets and clean dogs cats reptiles birds fish and over the years I have gained a vast knowledge and inquisitive experience with dogs I am currently a major in environmental biology and ecology and with a minor in animal behavior in psychology I enjoy it all dogs and have no prejudice against any dog or cat and I am willing to take care of any pad and I’m not afraid of any type of animal that is presented in front of me and willing to do almost all tasks Required in service for taking care of the dog or cat and I will also take care of other non-included pets if needed as long as the services aren’t too distracting from the primary role of taking care of the main pet that I was hired to do so I work from home and have a free and open schedule with full availability and no time constraints, I also am flexible and can make arrangements for any occasion, if given notice! I treat all pets, the same in all pets the same way. I treat them inside of them myself. They are given every ounce of love that I have, and every opportunity to do all the fun things that I would do with my own pets.! I have no bias or fear of any specific animals and I’m willing to take any breeder any type of dog or cat!
About: I have always had some kind of pet growing up and love them! My grandfather had cows, chickens, pigs and dogs on his farm and I would jump at any opportunity to go see them! I have my own Personal experience in pet care from having my own pets and caring for the pets of family members and friends. I currently have a cat that is 9 weeks old that is very friendly and loves to play! Before having my current cat I had a yorkie that I loved but passed of old age. About: I have a strong love for animals, and have grown up with many different species my whole life. I currently have 3 cats, but I love dogs as well and hope to get one of my own someday. I have worked at multiple doggie daycare/boarding facilities and have worked at a veterinary hospital for over 4 years. “Boarding with Ellen was outstanding. We had a family emergency that made taking our large dog with us impossible. He’s five-years old and had never been away from home - I am sure it was challenging for him. While not aggressive or disobedient, at about 120lbs he can be intimidating. Ellen was clearly very comfortable with him during our meet and greet visit and was very confident he’d be fine with her. He absolute was! She made him very at home on her beautiful farmette with her pack of critters. They all looked clean and loved. I noted her calmness with the dogs and confidence in their interaction under her watchful eye. The dogs have plenty of space to run and socialize. She made sure we gave her his “regular” food and medications, and verified other foods he would be allowed to have. She sent regular updates and photos during his stay. Each action shot was accompanied by a thoughtful narrative of the photo. We really enjoyed pictures of his quiet time, napping with the other dogs in her home was comforting. They all looked content. We needed an extra day of boarding because of the unpredictability of our travel and Ellen made it so easy. Our dog made new friends and we did too.”

“Sam is such a wonderful dog lover and knew exactly what our dog Dublin is like and how to introduce him to other dogs. We didn't know this prior the drop off, but she had a few other dogs in different sizes, including her own dog, so it was wonderful for Dublin to be able to play with them and socialize. Her house has a huge fenced yard, surrounded by a woody area, which I think was perfect for Dublin. This is just a one-time boarding opportunity, as we were traveling through the area, but we'd certainly board our dog with ther again if we could.”

About: I’ve taken care of dogs ever since I was a kid, and I have experience with taking care of many different breeds, young and old. I love animals and will do everything I can to make yours comfortable and happy. Work is currently slow, so I have the time to give your pets all the attention they need. I am available anytime throughout the week and most weekends. I have two friendly dogs that would love to keep yours company. I do not have a fenced yard, but walk them on my private lane often, and take them to the dog park. My pets get fed twice a day, but I can feed yours as often as you’d like - they also have some treat throughout the day.
