I have worked in the veterinary field for the past 8 years and have pet sat countless pets when I lived in Corvallis previously. I graduated with a b.s in zoology at OSU so you can say that animals are my life. I have an 8y/o German Shepherd husky mix, Grayson, and have grown up with large to giant breed dogs, some of whom were reactive. Hence, I am comfortable walking any size dog. Grayson is dog friendly (occasionally selective) if you ever wanted your dog to walk with a friend but not needed. I work 4 10s but have Saturday, Sunday, and Monday off to walk your dog. I can possibly cat sit if you live very close. Mondays are the most ideal day to walk your dog. I will treat your pet like the special and cute babies they are. I am very receptive to following through on training you have been working on with your dog on walks.

About: I’ve had cats and dogs my entire life, and since 2020 I have owned many species of reptiles and amphibians. Currently, I own two cats, two dogs, a Kenyan sand boa, a Brazilian rainbow boa, a leopard gecko, and three spiders. I also have experienced caring for animals with specialized care and for seniors. “Allen has been the best caretaker for my Mini-Aussie, Mikka! We had a very thorough meet-and-greet for all questions and to meet his beautiful pup, Kaya. Mikka has spent the day with them 2 times now while I go to work and Mikka is now "a regular" every week. She has developed few anxiety issues during the pandemic and can be a bit reactive around other dogs, so I've been very hesitant about doggy day care in any other capacity, but Allen has listened to my concerns and been extremely careful with keeping an eye on her or introducing her to any other dog he's watching or who is using the magical little private gated dog park behind his house. He's been super helpful in correcting some of her behavior issues (like a very loud persistent bark that has made me crazy!), sends photos and updates frequently, and is very quick to communicate even in between stays. I'm so relieved my anxious dog is getting playtime and has such good care that I can trust every Tuesday, and she's making new dog friends finally. Thank you, Allen!”

I've used daycare facilities for my little pug, Olive, in the past and she used to come home semi-traumatized by the experience. Definitely not the case with Susie. The second we pulled into her driveway, Olive had her tail wagging and couldn't wait to spend the day with Susie and family! Susie was sooo sweet and I know her daughter loved little Olive too...I can't speak highly enough of them. Seriously, if you're debating who to go with for your doggy...go with Susie. She is kind, extremely flexible, experienced and has such a warm and inviting home. About: Having grown up on a 20 acre farm for most of my life, I have cared for all shapes and sizes of animals - from horses to snakes, and everything in between! When I moved into an apartment for college, I missed the "dog energy" in our household and set to volunteering hundreds of hours at the Humane Society, which also included basic training skills and walking the most aggressive 100+lb leash pullers. This later evolved into working at a veterinary clinic where I was trained to monitor recovering animals and administer medications safely and with as little stress as possible through Fear Free certification. Animal body language is my second language! I love the outdoors as much as the indoors, and am more than happy to accommodate medical needs. ♡ If you would like extras taken care of during your pets stay or our visit, such as bathing, grooming, nail trims, or a run, just let me know! My dog, Leo, and I are constantly going on hikes and we are more than happy to tucker your pups out with a day trip, just reach out for rates. I currently work as a Braille Librarian for the state and used to teach Low Vision/Blind learners, and I am also fluent in American Sign Language (ASL), so I have a soft spot for dogs that may be Deaf, Blind, or DeafBlind. To top it all off, I am working on weaseling my way into Guide Dog puppy raising, and all the training tips that come along with that. ( : I commute to Salem Wednesday and Friday, which means my schedule during those days is usually pretty limited to anything after 430pm. Otherwise, my weekends are typically completely free and ready to be filled with whatever your fur babies need! Using the Fear Free method, I work with a pet's body language to determine what will work best in the current situation, and when methods may be effective versus stressful. I am ready to go at your pet's pace with whatever they may need, and clearly communicate the process along the way.
About: Loved and cared for my dog for 15 years but she has sadly passed; I also regularly dog-sit for friends. I also appreciated flexible scheduling for drop-off/pick-up and the opportunity for a pre-meet & greet at a nearby park to help acclimate. We’d definitely book again.”
