About: I have been taking care of animals for as long as I can remember and have been pet-sitting since age 10 for family, friends, and neighbors. I have almost always lived with at least one cat or dog (or both!) throughout my life. I also have experience caring for rabbits, ferrets, gerbils, fish, parakeets, bearded dragons, and cockatiels. I currently live with two indoor tortoiseshell cats who are comfortable with dogs, and one of my cats is leash-trained. I have raised and trained at least 11 dogs from puppies to adulthood (3 as my own and the others for my parents). Most of my cats I adopted as teenagers, but I have raised a few kittens from a young age. I have done extensive dog training with the 3 dogs I raised as my own in the past, and I am familiar with both dog and cat training techniques. I live in a cabin the woods in Boston, NY, on a power line gravel road. Although I do not have a fenced in back yard, your dog will enjoy going on leashed walks down the power line road multiple times per day! I earn a living through a mix of substitute teaching (summer starts June 25th!), remote research and writing gigs, tutoring, child care, and pet care. I have a flexible schedule and incorporate pet care into the mix as much as possible because I love animals. If I am boarding a dog at my home, I will not be house sitting at that time (and vice versa). While boarding or house sitting, I will consider dog walking and drop-ins depending on the needs of the client and driving distance. If you board your dog at my home, my cats and I wake up early (about 6am) and I like to go outside for a walk down the power line road right away, and then eat breakfast. Your dog will be able to spend time with me all day (on a leash when we are outside), and if I need to leave my house, they will be in their crate for no more than 4 hours (2 is my strong preference). We will go for at least one more walk before dinner, too. I will be sure to give them plenty of play time and exercise throughout the day (depending on their level of activity and how hot it is outside). No matter what, they will get a lot of love and attention! I live in a cabin in the woods in the Town of Boston, NY, so although I do not have a fenced-in yard, there is very little traffic or people around. I will be able to go on long leashed walks with your dog down the power line for exercise, and there are a few friendly neighbor dogs that would love to say hello if your dog is up for that. I do live with two cats: one of them will hide a lot while your dog is here, but the other is very dog-friendly and will want to interact with your dog. I will monitor and separate them as needed (I have a spare room). I have always crate-trained my dogs and so long as your dog is comfortable in their crate, I will use it as a safe place for them to be while they are staying with me.

As a retired caregiver, I’m home all day and can give your pet plenty of attention and companionship. Pet care fits naturally into my daily routine, allowing me to provide consistent care, regular walks and playtime, and plenty of love and attention throughout the day. I enjoy having pets as part of my daily life and take pride in making sure they feel happy, safe, and comfortable. I offer care in your home or at my quiet, dog-free home. For dogs, the day can include daily walks, playtime, fetch, cuddles, and plenty of one-on-one attention. I’m happy to care for puppies through senior dogs and will follow your pet’s normal routine, including meals, medications, and rest time. There are no children or other pets in my home, making it a calm and peaceful environment. My goal is for your pet to feel like part of the family while you’re away!

Pet care fits naturally into our daily routine because caring for our own dog has already been part of our lifestyle for years. I work outside the home but have flexibility to take breaks and come home throughout the day for walks, potty breaks, playtime, feeding, and check-ins. I understand every pet has their own routine and energy level, and I do my best to keep them comfortable, active, and cared for while you’re away. Creating a safe, comfortable, and trustworthy environment is very important to us. I've had my dog Layla since she was 3 months old and she’s now 9, so I understand how important it is to leave your pet with someone who treats them like family. I follow each pet parent’s instructions closely, including feeding schedules, walks, routines, medications (if applicable), and preferred care styles. I offer boarding in our spacious two-bedroom apartment with access to nice grassy areas nearby for walks, potty breaks, and outdoor time. Small dogs are welcome on the furniture if that’s part of their normal routine and helps them feel more comfortable and at home. I also have our friendly dog Layla, who is already used to sharing her space and being around other pets, helping create a welcoming and pet-friendly environment. Our goal is to make every fur baby feel safe, relaxed, and cared for while you’re away.
About: I have past experience working for Wag where I walked a number of different dogs over the course of about a year and a half. I also have experience with raising, training, and caring for my own pups as well as my two cats! I work as a freelancer currently, so I will have plenty of time to stop in and care for your pet any day of the week you need me! I can accommodate any and all needs that your pets have while you are away from home! In my experience with Wag as a dog walker, I entered and re-secured many homes while owners were away.
