“Our young and rambunctious poodle, Twinkie, had an amazing week at Erika’s!! We’ve used rover before but this is the first time we felt the experience went above and beyond, and we felt confident the whole time not only that Twinkie was safe but that she was possibly having the best week of her life lol! Erika was extremely professional and responsive and sent us many pictures throughout the stay. About: I have been taking care of animals for as long as I can remember and have been pet-sitting since age 10 for family, friends, and neighbors. I have almost always lived with at least one cat or dog (or both!) throughout my life. I also have experience caring for rabbits, ferrets, gerbils, fish, parakeets, bearded dragons, and cockatiels. I currently live with two indoor tortoiseshell cats who are comfortable with dogs, and one of my cats is leash-trained. I have raised and trained at least 11 dogs from puppies to adulthood (3 as my own and the others for my parents). Most of my cats I adopted as teenagers, but I have raised a few kittens from a young age. I have done extensive dog training with the 3 dogs I raised as my own in the past, and I am familiar with both dog and cat training techniques. I live in a cabin the woods in Boston, NY, on a power line gravel road. Although I do not have a fenced in back yard, your dog will enjoy going on leashed walks down the power line road multiple times per day! I earn a living through a mix of substitute teaching (summer starts June 25th!), remote research and writing gigs, tutoring, child care, and pet care. I have a flexible schedule and incorporate pet care into the mix as much as possible because I love animals. If I am boarding a dog at my home, I will not be house sitting at that time (and vice versa). While boarding or house sitting, I will consider dog walking and drop-ins depending on the needs of the client and driving distance. If you board your dog at my home, my cats and I wake up early (about 6am) and I like to go outside for a walk down the power line road right away, and then eat breakfast. Your dog will be able to spend time with me all day (on a leash when we are outside), and if I need to leave my house, they will be in their crate for no more than 4 hours (2 is my strong preference). We will go for at least one more walk before dinner, too. I will be sure to give them plenty of play time and exercise throughout the day (depending on their level of activity and how hot it is outside). No matter what, they will get a lot of love and attention! I live in a cabin in the woods in the Town of Boston, NY, so although I do not have a fenced-in yard, there is very little traffic or people around. I will be able to go on long leashed walks with your dog down the power line for exercise, and there are a few friendly neighbor dogs that would love to say hello if your dog is up for that. I do live with two cats: one of them will hide a lot while your dog is here, but the other is very dog-friendly and will want to interact with your dog. I will monitor and separate them as needed (I have a spare room). I have always crate-trained my dogs and so long as your dog is comfortable in their crate, I will use it as a safe place for them to be while they are staying with me.
“Our two very busy dogs recently spent four nights in the care of Jennifer and her whole family while we were spending the Thanksgiving holiday at a nearby Airbnb that did not allow dogs. It could not have gone any better. The dogs were warmly welcomed and got lots of attention. It felt like we were dropping them off at summer camp. They even got to try herding goats for the first time! Both of Jennifer’s dogs seemed to do very well with ours. We got plenty of updates throughout the visit. We hope to be able to bring our dogs to Jennifer again next year.”

About: I've never understood the "cat person versus dog person" rivalry because I grew up with and love them both! I currently live with two cats and their personalities are completely different even though they are both females and look alike! I enjoy slowly building trust with cats by respecting their boundaries. I love to play and cuddle with cats, but I never force a cat to do anything they don't want to do, which helps them open up to me. I see how cats thrive when I am calm and give them a regular routine.

I’ve recently started to help take care of family and friends cats and have researched and learned a lot of things. I love to give my kitty friends space when they need it and all the love and snuggles. I love deep cleaning litter boxes to make sure that they have a clean place to go potty. About: I have my own dog named Finn who is a 1 year old newfiedoodle. He is pretty relaxed but we enjoy going on walks and hanging out. I have always loved pets and been happy to help take care of the pets of my family and friends. I currently have weekends off to be available for pets. I also do not work in the summer months (July and August) and have time to watch and walk pets much more often. Our yard is not fenced but we have 20 acres of land to go on safe walks with a leash. About: I’ve taken care of many different dogs over the years and have worked at PetSmart as a pets hotel associate. I have two dogs (10 and 3 years old). I’ve also owned four cats and babysat family and friends pets before! I am home all day so I am fully available to provide care to pets. About: I’ve taken care of many animals in my life. Neighbors, friends and family have all relied on me to watch their pets including barn animals. I’m currently working part-time so i’m looking for something that I can do on the side. I’m available 2 days of the week and every morning or late night. I have one cat and 2 dogs at home. Diesel is a 2 year old black lab and Rudy is a 3 year old pit mix. I enjoy taking them for walks or just hanging out in the yard throwing a ball around.

About: I have been fortunate enough to have had animals most of my life. These have ranged from dogs, rabbits, chickens, horses, cows, and fish. I have volunteered time at a wildlife rehab and also worked a few years at a dog daycare facility that would average about 50 dogs a day. About: I love dogs and had one for 17 years! Our good boy recently crossed the rainbow bridge and we miss him so much. I have experience with young dogs, but also with senior dogs I am currently available during the day every weekday, so whether it’s an early morning or late afternoon walk, I can be there no problem! About: I have my own dog named Finn who is a 1 year old newfiedoodle. He is pretty relaxed but we enjoy going on walks and hanging out. I have always loved pets and been happy to help take care of the pets of my family and friends. I currently have weekends off to be available for pets. I also do not work in the summer months (July and August) and have time to watch and walk pets much more often. Our yard is not fenced but we have 20 acres of land to go on safe walks with a leash. I also have a large crate and can crate if needed.

About: I used to dog walk a couple dogs. Then I moved onto horses. So I know I can handle the hardest canines. They’re fun to have around. I’m working but also just thinking about doing this instead. Work gets boring and this wouldn’t. I love animals and they tend to love me back. I have a giant yard. They can’t be off leash but we can have fun running in the grass. I have animals that will stay upstairs when the dog or cat is here.

About: I have been taking care of animals for as long as I can remember and have been pet-sitting since age 10 for family, friends, and neighbors. I have almost always lived with at least one cat or dog (or both!) throughout my life. I also have experience caring for rabbits, ferrets, gerbils, fish, parakeets, bearded dragons, and cockatiels. I currently live with two indoor tortoiseshell cats who are comfortable with dogs, and one of my cats is leash-trained. I have raised and trained at least 11 dogs from puppies to adulthood (3 as my own and the others for my parents). Most of my cats I adopted as teenagers, but I have raised a few kittens from a young age. I have done extensive dog training with the 3 dogs I raised as my own in the past, and I am familiar with both dog and cat training techniques. I live in a cabin the woods in Boston, NY, on a power line gravel road. Although I do not have a fenced in back yard, your dog will enjoy going on leashed walks down the power line road multiple times per day! I earn a living through a mix of substitute teaching (summer starts June 25th!), remote research and writing gigs, tutoring, child care, and pet care. I have a flexible schedule and incorporate pet care into the mix as much as possible because I love animals. If I am boarding a dog at my home, I will not be house sitting at that time (and vice versa). While boarding or house sitting, I will consider dog walking and drop-ins depending on the needs of the client and driving distance. If you board your dog at my home, my cats and I wake up early (about 6am) and I like to go outside for a walk down the power line road right away, and then eat breakfast. Your dog will be able to spend time with me all day (on a leash when we are outside), and if I need to leave my house, they will be in their crate for no more than 4 hours (2 is my strong preference). We will go for at least one more walk before dinner, too. I will be sure to give them plenty of play time and exercise throughout the day (depending on their level of activity and how hot it is outside). No matter what, they will get a lot of love and attention! I live in a cabin in the woods in the Town of Boston, NY, so although I do not have a fenced-in yard, there is very little traffic or people around. I will be able to go on long leashed walks with your dog down the power line for exercise, and there are a few friendly neighbor dogs that would love to say hello if your dog is up for that. I do live with two cats: one of them will hide a lot while your dog is here, but the other is very dog-friendly and will want to interact with your dog. I will monitor and separate them as needed (I have a spare room). I have always crate-trained my dogs and so long as your dog is comfortable in their crate, I will use it as a safe place for them to be while they are staying with me.
“Our two very busy dogs recently spent four nights in the care of Jennifer and her whole family while we were spending the Thanksgiving holiday at a nearby Airbnb that did not allow dogs. It could not have gone any better. The dogs were warmly welcomed and got lots of attention. It felt like we were dropping them off at summer camp. They even got to try herding goats for the first time! Both of Jennifer’s dogs seemed to do very well with ours. We got plenty of updates throughout the visit.
