About: I have been taking care of animals for as long as I can remember and have been pet-sitting since age 10 for family, friends, and neighbors. I have almost always lived with at least one cat or dog (or both!) throughout my life. I also have experience caring for rabbits, ferrets, gerbils, fish, parakeets, bearded dragons, and cockatiels. I currently live with two indoor tortoiseshell cats who are comfortable with dogs, and one of my cats is leash-trained. I have raised and trained at least 11 dogs from puppies to adulthood (3 as my own and the others for my parents). Most of my cats I adopted as teenagers, but I have raised a few kittens from a young age. I have done extensive dog training with the 3 dogs I raised as my own in the past, and I am familiar with both dog and cat training techniques. I live in a cabin the woods in Boston, NY, on a power line gravel road. Although I do not have a fenced in back yard, your dog will enjoy going on leashed walks down the power line road multiple times per day! I earn a living through a mix of substitute teaching (summer starts June 25th!), remote research and writing gigs, tutoring, child care, and pet care. I have a flexible schedule and incorporate pet care into the mix as much as possible because I love animals. If I am boarding a dog at my home, I will not be house sitting at that time (and vice versa). While boarding or house sitting, I will consider dog walking and drop-ins depending on the needs of the client and driving distance. If you board your dog at my home, my cats and I wake up early (about 6am) and I like to go outside for a walk down the power line road right away, and then eat breakfast. Your dog will be able to spend time with me all day (on a leash when we are outside), and if I need to leave my house, they will be in their crate for no more than 4 hours (2 is my strong preference). We will go for at least one more walk before dinner, too. I will be sure to give them plenty of play time and exercise throughout the day (depending on their level of activity and how hot it is outside). No matter what, they will get a lot of love and attention! I live in a cabin in the woods in the Town of Boston, NY, so although I do not have a fenced-in yard, there is very little traffic or people around. I will be able to go on long leashed walks with your dog down the power line for exercise, and there are a few friendly neighbor dogs that would love to say hello if your dog is up for that. I do live with two cats: one of them will hide a lot while your dog is here, but the other is very dog-friendly and will want to interact with your dog. I will monitor and separate them as needed (I have a spare room). I have always crate-trained my dogs and so long as your dog is comfortable in their crate, I will use it as a safe place for them to be while they are staying with me.

“Our two very busy dogs recently spent four nights in the care of Jennifer and her whole family while we were spending the Thanksgiving holiday at a nearby Airbnb that did not allow dogs. It could not have gone any better. The dogs were warmly welcomed and got lots of attention. It felt like we were dropping them off at summer camp. They even got to try herding goats for the first time! Both of Jennifer’s dogs seemed to do very well with ours. We got plenty of updates throughout the visit. About: I’ve always had cats around and have taken care of strays and making sure they always got the love and food they needed! I’ve recently started to help take care of family and friends cats and have researched and learned a lot of things. I love to give my kitty friends space when they need it and all the love and snuggles. I love deep cleaning litter boxes to make sure that they have a clean place to go potty. I also enjoy brushing cats and am very good at getting their nails clipped, even if they’re grumpy!
About: I have 2 cats that my husband and I have had for 5 years. We've had our male black and white cat Milvan since he was a kitten and we've had our female black cat Xena since she was a kitten for 4 years. We ended up getting Xena as a playmate for Milvan and they get along wonderfully and love to play. Milvan has an autoimmune disease where his body destroys his red blood cells. We have to take Milvan to the vet regularly and give him medication daily. We give him an oral liquid by syringe. We have given him pills in the past so I am familiar with that sort of medicine form as well. Milvan can be a difficult cat to work with and tends to bite. We got him and didnt realize he was a couple weeks too young to be out of his litter. So he didnt learn how to play properly with others. Since getting Xena, he has learned how to play from her but still does bite people. He bites from overstimulation like rubbing his belly. These are my first two cats and I love them to pieces. Even with Milvan having all of his medical issues, I wouldn't trade him for anything. I have a love for all cats in general. It would be my pleasure if I could get the chance to take care of your cat or cats.
About: I've never understood the "cat person versus dog person" rivalry because I grew up with and love them both! I currently live with two cats and their personalities are completely different even though they are both females and look alike! I enjoy slowly building trust with cats by respecting their boundaries. I love to play and cuddle with cats, but I never force a cat to do anything they don't want to do, which helps them open up to me. About: I’ve taken care of many animals in my life. Neighbors, friends and family have all relied on me to watch their pets including barn animals. About: During my high school years, I attended a BOCES program specifically for small animal care. There, I learned how to handle and restrain many animals such as cats, dogs, and other small friends! I have three rabbits, two dogs, and my kitty. About: I have my own dog named Finn who is a 1 year old newfiedoodle. He is pretty relaxed but we enjoy going on walks and hanging out. About: I used to dog walk a couple dogs. Then I moved onto horses. So I know I can handle the hardest canines. They’re fun to have around. I’m working but also just thinking about doing this instead. Work gets boring and this wouldn’t. I love animals and they tend to love me back. I have a giant yard. They can’t be off leash but we can have fun running in the grass. I have animals that will stay upstairs when the dog or cat is here.

My favorite thing is to be home with my dogs on the weekend so most likely the shortest amount of time your pup(s) will be home without a human is 2-4 hours max. When I am home, the dogs are my first priority, with many walks, brushing, massage and pampering included in each visit! If your pup needs a bath and is well-behaved in the tub, I'd love to freshen them up! (I do not cut nails). All of my pups are on flea and tick prevention year round. About: I’ve taken care of dogs of all sorts since I was 10. Always had dogs growing up and loved and cared for them all the time. She is very sweet, a big girl at 95lbs but extremely submissive in all situations! She would love a play mate and extra walks! Work from home M-F. On my lunch we always take a walk usually about 2 miles and Genny get plenty of potty breaks and outdoors time! About: I love dogs and like to walk dogs to earn some extra money for my household. I had a male Australian Shepherd named Gonzo who passed away 3 years ago when he was 10 years old. He was pretty big for his breed weighing in around 70lbs so I can handle big dogs. I took Gonzo to training classes which honestly trained me more than it trained him so I feel pretty confident in my dog handling skills. Gonzo had a fear of people which lead him to nip at people. We worked hard working with him to help him overcome this fear as best as we could. I think this experience has taught me a lot about reading a dogs emotions and catching signals before a bad situations appears. I now have a 2 year old mini aussie who we rescued named Betsy. We had to work with her to help her with her fear. She is finally in a place where she can comfortably encounter people and approach with no fear. Betsy gets a little excited around other dogs she's not allowed to approach but she is making excellent progress. Just like with Gonzo, we are socializing Betsy and training to give her confidence. A dog should be able to go on walks carefree and with a feeling of safety. I feel that a dog needs a confident yet a friendly companion while taking walks and I can provide just that. My schedule is a little sporadic so I dont have a set schedule and usually do one-off jobs since I can't guarantee a consistent commitment due to my odd schedule. I typically care for pets at their home. Depending on how your pet is around other animals and pets, I would consider taking care of your pet or pets at my own home. I have one dog, two cats, and a bearded dragon.

About: I have been fortunate enough to have had animals most of my life. These have ranged from dogs, rabbits, chickens, horses, cows, and fish. I have volunteered time at a wildlife rehab and also worked a few years at a dog daycare facility that would average about 50 dogs a day. I have a bachelors degree in Animal behavior, ecology and conservation. I have always had a special place in my heart for animals. I currently have 2 rabbits and a dog. About: I have my own dog named Finn who is a 1 year old newfiedoodle. He is pretty relaxed but we enjoy going on walks and hanging out. I have always loved pets and been happy to help take care of the pets of my family and friends. I currently have weekends off to be available for pets. I also do not work in the summer months (July and August) and have time to watch and walk pets much more often. Our yard is not fenced but we have 20 acres of land to go on safe walks with a leash. About: I've had pets my whole life. I currently have a yellow lab named Spanky and a cat named Daisy. Your pet will be in good hands and receive great care. I am currently on summer break from college and have full availability at the present time, except for Mondays. Transportation to your home is not an issue. We have 23 acres of land in the country, which gives our yellow lab plenty of space to play. We also have a barn that has a doggie door to an outside fenced area.
About: I used to dog walk a couple dogs. Then I moved onto horses. So I know I can handle the hardest canines. They’re fun to have around. I’m working but also just thinking about doing this instead. Work gets boring and this wouldn’t. I love animals and they tend to love me back. I have a giant yard. They can’t be off leash but we can have fun running in the grass. I have animals that will stay upstairs when the dog or cat is here.
About: I love dogs and had one for 17 years! Our good boy recently crossed the rainbow bridge and we miss him so much. About: I have been taking care of animals for as long as I can remember and have been pet-sitting since age 10 for family, friends, and neighbors. I have almost always lived with at least one cat or dog (or both!) throughout my life. I also have experience caring for rabbits, ferrets, gerbils, fish, parakeets, bearded dragons, and cockatiels. I currently live with two indoor tortoiseshell cats who are comfortable with dogs, and one of my cats is leash-trained. I have raised and trained at least 11 dogs from puppies to adulthood (3 as my own and the others for my parents). Most of my cats I adopted as teenagers, but I have raised a few kittens from a young age. I have done extensive dog training with the 3 dogs I raised as my own in the past, and I am familiar with both dog and cat training techniques. I live in a cabin the woods in Boston, NY, on a power line gravel road. Although I do not have a fenced in back yard, your dog will enjoy going on leashed walks down the power line road multiple times per day! I earn a living through a mix of substitute teaching (summer starts June 25th!), remote research and writing gigs, tutoring, child care, and pet care. I have a flexible schedule and incorporate pet care into the mix as much as possible because I love animals. If I am boarding a dog at my home, I will not be house sitting at that time (and vice versa). While boarding or house sitting, I will consider dog walking and drop-ins depending on the needs of the client and driving distance. If you board your dog at my home, my cats and I wake up early (about 6am) and I like to go outside for a walk down the power line road right away, and then eat breakfast. Your dog will be able to spend time with me all day (on a leash when we are outside), and if I need to leave my house, they will be in their crate for no more than 4 hours (2 is my strong preference). We will go for at least one more walk before dinner, too. I will be sure to give them plenty of play time and exercise throughout the day (depending on their level of activity and how hot it is outside). No matter what, they will get a lot of love and attention! I live in a cabin in the woods in the Town of Boston, NY, so although I do not have a fenced-in yard, there is very little traffic or people around. I will be able to go on long leashed walks with your dog down the power line for exercise, and there are a few friendly neighbor dogs that would love to say hello if your dog is up for that. I do live with two cats: one of them will hide a lot while your dog is here, but the other is very dog-friendly and will want to interact with your dog. I will monitor and separate them as needed (I have a spare room). I have always crate-trained my dogs and so long as your dog is comfortable in their crate, I will use it as a safe place for them to be while they are staying with me.
