About: I grew up with the sweetest little dog and miss having pets around. I was the primary care taker, taking her for walks, to the vet, playing with her and so on. I love getting exercise and taking dogs for walks or runs. I walked dogs as a part time job in high school, have taken care of friends dogs when they are out of town and taken care of many dogs through Rover. To date I have been the proud mom of one pug and six cats, as well as several reptiles, fish and guinea pigs, and every one has been an honor and a joy. About: I didn’t get to experience the joy of growing up with dogs or cats but as soon as I was able I began taking in fosters from the NYC shelter system. It was quite a learning experience spending time with many dogs (and a few cats) of all different types and personalities. I no longer foster but I bring the experience and dedication from working with so many shelter pets to caring for your furry family members. And as a pet parent now myself I have been through many sitters so I understand what makes a good one! A note on boarding and meet and greets: I’m happy to have boarding candidates come by to meet me and check out the space but I do not do meet and greets with my own dogs. My dogs are dog friendly but they are too chaotic and excitable to meet new dogs and owners right away. New dogs are kept separate at first and introduced at their own pace when everyone is calm. This minimizes stress for everyone and allows for better interactions. I currently work out of the house Monday/Wednesday/Friday but my schedule is somewhat flexible. The rest of the week I work at home and I am often available all weekend. Dogs in my home have access to a securely fenced large yard for running and fetch, as well as a quiet neighborhood for walks. If the weather is warm dogs have access to a dog door so they may go outside as they please. If your dog likes to play with other dogs mine will certainly be happy to accommodate but they can also have separate spaces if quiet time is needed. In your home I will make every effort to keep your pets schedule as familiar as possible while offering lots of love and stimulation. As someone who has had many sitters come through and stay at my house I understand the importance of trust and cleanliness so you can be away without worry.
About: Hello! I’m a professional writer who works from home and often watches my neighbors’ dogs just because I think it’s fun. I joined Rover to help others who might need last-minute dog sitting. My own golden retriever Emmett chills with me all day and we go for walks around the block at lunchtime and we’d love for your friend to join us! I host one dog at a time (in addition to Emmett). I’ve been around dogs and pets of all kinds my whole life and am happy to just spend some quality time feeding, patting, walking or running with a good pooch. I’m super comfortable with all breeds, just maybe not strong enough to handle anyone over 100 pounds unless they’re super well trained. I’ve seen Emmett and my previous dogs, Henry and Teddy, through all kinds of ear infections, hot spots, and geriatric arthritis treatments and am really good at finding ticks! My brother has Emmett’s brother, Gary, so you’ll see the two of them in a few pics together. I’m a remote freelance writer so my schedule is very flexible. I walk Emmett every day at least three times a day so it’s really easy to add an additional dog to the mix. I’m home all day so we all hang. Our yard is unfortunately not fenced but because I spend a lot of time at my computer I balance that with a lot of midday dog walks. When your pet stays here it’s very chill; as long as your dog gets along with Emmett they’ll have full range of the house and can snooze wherever and then we’ll go walk about around the block a few times, which nets out to be about a mile.
“Jacqueline was very friendly and communicative, and Bunsen took an instant liking. We received photos of her well-being during her stay and of her mile walk. Jacqueline’s home is conveniently located in a popular historic town, making drop-off/pickup easy on the way to/from Hunter Ski Resort from our hotel. Bunsen was well cared for and happy. She was also so tired, that she managed to rest during the long car ride back home! We would book Jacqueline again.”

“Venetia showed up on time (a little early even to get the lowdown on my dog!) and helped burn some puppy energy! She took my 1 year old dog on a nice nature walk with beautiful pics :-) She was very patient with some naughty behaviors we're working on (jumping!) and her calm demeanor put my boy at ease to go off with a stranger. She responded promptly to my requests and was VERY thorough with getting all of Reshi's information. Will be using her services again soon and would def recommend Venetia for your pets needs :-)”

About: Hi, I'm Marceline! Growing up with a wildlife rehabilitator for a parent, I was surrounded by animals from day one. From bottle-feeding baby raccoons to gently caring for injured birds, I learned early on the patience, empathy, and responsibility that animals deserve. That lifelong passion turned into a career of caring: I spent 4 years at a cat shelter, helping to socialize, medicate and find loving homes for many cats. Beyond that, I've volunteered extensively at Farm sanctuaries and animal shelters, gaining hands-on experience with dogs, cats, pigs, chickens, and more! Whether your pet is playful and energetic or shy and sensitive, I'm dedicated to providing calm, attentive, loving care that meets their unique needs. I know how important it is to trust someone with your animal family. You can count on me to treat your pets like my own - with respect, reliability and plenty of love. Let's connect - I'd love to meet you and your pets! Because I have an open schedule, I'm able to dedicate focused time throughout the day for walks, feedings, play, medication and whatever unique care each pet needs. I plan my day around their routines, not the other way around - whether that means early morning visits, midday potty breaks, evening cuddle time, or sleepovers. I'm used to structuring my day with animals in mind, especially my own cats and hermit crabs. Being attentive to animals' behaviors and needs is second nature to me, and I always make sure they get plenty of love, attention, and consistency throughout the day. When you leave your pet in my care, you're not just hiring someone to feed or walk them - you're trusting me with a member of your family. I take that responsibility seriously. Creating a safe, calm, and loving environment is at the heart of everything I do. I closely follow your pet's routines, dietary needs, and any medical requirements to make sure they stay happy and healthy. Im experienced in handling a wide range or animals - including those with special needs, and I always keep a close eye on behaviot and well-being When I visit your home for your pet, I strive to create a low-stress environment where they feel safe, relaxed, and loved. From cozy resting spots to familiar routines and gentle handling, I make sure your pet feels right at home with me.

About: I've always loved spending time with dogs since I was a kid. Raising and training Remy, a Vizsla male with unlimited energy (who is now 5), has fast tracked my dog care experience. I absolutely love it. A few years ago, I started caring for dogs over Rover. It's been a wonderful experience for us, and I've especially enjoyed learning how to communicate with dogs of all shapes, sizes, ages, and personality types. Cats are good people too! For cats I'm happy to provide drop-in services and potentially house sitting if it works with my schedule. I'm not often free for clients at the moment, but would be happy to help as I can on my days off from work. I try to keep my schedule up to date as well as available services. I'm happy to adjust to you and your dog's needs in terms of exercise, exposure to other dogs, and on/off leash comfort levels. I'd love to chat over the phone or by text to figure out if I'd be a good fit for your pets and their needs.

“Patricia is the BEST! She's so so patient and gentle with my puppy who is learning to walk on a leash. My pup is so hesitant/distracted/adorably stubborn during walks and I feel so comfortable knowing that Patricia won't drag her along. You can tell she has a real connection to animals... She is reliable and I have peace of mind while I'm at work, knowing my puppy gets all the love, belly rubs, and a good walk from her doggy walker. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a patient, kind, and reliable dog walker/pet sitter!!”

About: I grew up with all different types of animals my whole life. I have been a dog mom for 13 years. I am great at walking dogs who have aggression towards other dogs, I know how to find a calm route to take and distract them before conflict arises! I recently lost my 90 lb alapaha blue blood bulldog mix to a terminal illness and am looking forward to spending time with other people's dogs. I am a self employed artist, volunteer, and executive director of a free store that I physically staff on Saturdays, so I have a very flexible schedule. I will care for pets in your home with so much attentiveness and love! Just give me a set of instructions and I am happy to hang out :)

About: I grew up in a cat household and became a dog mom as soon as I left home. I absolutely love all of the cats and dogs I’ve been fortunate enough to meet in this life. I raised my pup, Grumble, from 3 weeks old until she left this world at 11 years old.
