“We were passing through town and needed daycare for our chihuahua. Shihong took Peanut on short notice, picked her up to take her on a walk around the block with his dog, Cotton, and reported back that things were going well! Peanut had a couple accidents in the house and he was unfazed. He was diligent about socializing her to his dog and by the end of the day they were snuggled in the crate together. Wish we could bring Peanut to Shihong every day! Highly recommend.”
About: I've cared for dogs of different sizes over the years and I love to cuddle, walk, and pamper pups. We have a fenced in back yard and I like to take long walks with dogs if they're up for it. We have a 4 year old boxer/hound mix who is sweet with people but not great with other dogs. We keep him away from guest dogs, there's lots of room in the house for each dog to have their own space and still get lots of love from me and the family. I work from home and have a very flexible schedule. I take breaks through the day to care for puppies, whether that's a quick potty break, fun walk, or play time with balls and toys. When boarding, I make sure pups get any meds they need, plenty of time outside, and snuggles on the couch (if they're the snuggling type). I know some dogs need longer or shorter walks, and I make adjustments based on what they need.

“Alexander was super kind. Our dog seemed very happy after arriving at his place. When we met at the end of the day , she was happy to see us, but a bit of a sad glance back as we left Alexander. Two things to note: actually lives closer to Watkins Glen than the address on profile (as of July 25th, perhaps it's been updated). There is no fence on the property, but the driveway is long with trees and is removed from the road which isn't super busy. Our dog gets distracted by squirrels, etc. So we left him with a long lead for her and she was very safe on the property. Bonus: she is now napping. Generally a sign of a fun time.”

Dogs, cats, birds...practically every creature you can imagine. Currently I have a cat of my own, and a friend’s dog who I watch fairly regularly. It works out well because I’m a very active person who likes to get outside as much as possible—hiking when the weather permits and bringing him along with me. This is in part due to my ever-changing, flexible schedule. Currently working at a grocery store so my hours are always different. When I finish working though I head straight over to where I need to go. Sometimes I head over before I have to work too. I take the animals outside when they need to go to the bathroom. While I’m out there I watch carefully over them. I comfort and pay attention to them. I talk to them like they are humans.

We were very anxious but Kathy and Tim put us at ease right away by sending photos and describing her activities. They treated her like a special guest. She loved sleeping on their couch and exploring their large back yard. Our dog can be stubborn, but they really paid attention to her needs and figured out how to get her outside on a hot day. About: I’ve cared for dogs for 10 yrs and have owned a cattle dog mix for 6! I’ve fostered and pet sat dogs, cats, and kittens throughout that time. I have experience giving medication, basic training, and am detail oriented when it comes to any special instructions. My priority is following your lead when it comes to what's best for your pet's safety, nurturance, and play! Right now, my care schedule is flexible! I'm available for boarding in my home or pet sitting in yours. I work part-time, two days a week as a direct service provider from my home and 1-2 events per week at Cornell. I'm intentionally staying open so I can spend time at home with my dog and am never away for long! I love taking long walks around my quiet, rural neighborhood or spending time exploring the area. I live in a quiet, rural cottage with a screened in porch, backyard and tie out. My cattle dog mix is super playful and loves other dogs! Happy to also provide care in your home, especially for cats and other animals.
About: For any and all services I provide I will be seeking guidance from the pet owner for preferred handling as people treat their pets differently (allowed on furniture, leash vs off leash, feeding times, etc.) Most of my pet sitting experience has been at their home and i have cared for up to four dogs and two cats (plus chickens and fish). I have also babysat for a cat and a few different dogs at my place. I enjoy an active lifestyle and live near state lands so lots of hiking is usually on the agenda (for dogs anyway). I recently put down my aging cat and have found life is lonely without him, but I am not ready to replace him just yet. Rover seems like a great way to get my fix and earn some extra money along the way. I work full time Monday through Friday and have hour long lunch breaks if midday breaks are needed for your pets. Weekends are for serious play! I live on a low traffic road near a state forest. Access to trails from my back door and a large (unfenced) yard to roam. When staying in someone’s home I treat it like my own with care.
