“In November my previous Rover pet-sitter found full-time employment so I needed to find a new sitter for my amazing cat Huckleberry and quickly because my husband and I would be traveling over Christmas week. I immediately started my search for local pet-sitters on the Rover app. When I read Arthur’s bio I was immediately struck by his focus on cats. This was not something I had seen before as cats typically seem to be an afterthought or at least second to dogs in most pet-sitters bios. I contacted him right away and asked about his availability for Christmas week and could he come by that weekend for a meet and greet. He said yes to all and the rest is history! About: I didn’t get to experience the joy of growing up with dogs or cats but as soon as I was able I began taking in fosters from the NYC shelter system. It was quite a learning experience spending time with many dogs (and a few cats) of all different types and personalities. I no longer foster but I bring the experience and dedication from working with so many shelter pets to caring for your furry family members. And as a pet parent now myself I have been through many sitters so I understand what makes a good one! A note on boarding and meet and greets: I’m happy to have boarding candidates come by to meet me and check out the space but I do not do meet and greets with my own dogs. My dogs are dog friendly but they are too chaotic and excitable to meet new dogs and owners right away. New dogs are kept separate at first and introduced at their own pace when everyone is calm. This minimizes stress for everyone and allows for better interactions. I currently work out of the house Monday/Wednesday/Friday but my schedule is somewhat flexible. The rest of the week I work at home and I am often available all weekend. Dogs in my home have access to a securely fenced large yard for running and fetch, as well as a quiet neighborhood for walks. If the weather is warm dogs have access to a dog door so they may go outside as they please. If your dog likes to play with other dogs mine will certainly be happy to accommodate but they can also have separate spaces if quiet time is needed. In your home I will make every effort to keep your pets schedule as familiar as possible while offering lots of love and stimulation. As someone who has had many sitters come through and stay at my house I understand the importance of trust and cleanliness so you can be away without worry.

About: Hello! I’m a professional writer who works from home and often watches my neighbors’ dogs just because I think it’s fun. I joined Rover to help others who might need last-minute dog sitting. My own golden retriever Emmett chills with me all day and we go for walks around the block at lunchtime and we’d love for your friend to join us! I host one dog at a time (in addition to Emmett). I’ve been around dogs and pets of all kinds my whole life and am happy to just spend some quality time feeding, patting, walking or running with a good pooch. I’m super comfortable with all breeds, just maybe not strong enough to handle anyone over 100 pounds unless they’re super well trained. I’ve seen Emmett and my previous dogs, Henry and Teddy, through all kinds of ear infections, hot spots, and geriatric arthritis treatments and am really good at finding ticks! My brother has Emmett’s brother, Gary, so you’ll see the two of them in a few pics together. I’m a remote freelance writer so my schedule is very flexible. I walk Emmett every day at least three times a day so it’s really easy to add an additional dog to the mix. I’m home all day so we all hang. Our yard is unfortunately not fenced but because I spend a lot of time at my computer I balance that with a lot of midday dog walks. When your pet stays here it’s very chill; as long as your dog gets along with Emmett they’ll have full range of the house and can snooze wherever and then we’ll go walk about around the block a few times, which nets out to be about a mile.

About: Hi! We’re Travis and Meredith, both absolute dog lovers (particularly big dogs) with a 12 year old mid-sized pup ourselves. We are active and would love to get your dog exercise and nature time! We have been pet sitting for 6 years and have lots of experience with large energetic dogs! Meredith is also available for dog walking! Our dog Sammy is a neutered 12 year old male. He is sweet as can be and either a total couch potato or pulling on a hike, no in-between. He gets along with every dog he’s met and we are very experienced at managing him with other dogs! Both of us work from home and we have a beautiful fenced yard that your pup will get plenty of access to. We are able to accommodate most every type of activity level. We can accommodate neighborhood walks, playing fetch, hiking long or short in preserves - just let us know what your pupper needs! Our home has a small fenced yard, and a large gravel run that we can play fetch in! Our home is counter safe and we keep the house clean and free from anything dogs can get into.
About: I have a lot of experience taking care of dogs since I was young. I would love to take care of your beloved pets. I adore animals! I currently work part-time and have a lot of availability in between my work schedule. I can easily pet care during the week and on the weekends. I am 100% present and naturally intuitive with animals. I am there for whatever they may need. They will be cared for and loved when they are with me.
About: I will keep you updated throughout the day letting you know how your pet is doing. If you'd like, I can even send you pictures showing how happy your pet is. I freelance in film production which allows me to be flexible with days and time. I have a wired sleeping schedule too which will allow me to go whenever to watch your pet. About: As a social worker, I'm highly attuned to both human and animal needs/issues, and love getting to know and cater to unique personalities - or provide loving care for those who are ill or have special needs. I started taking care of neighbors' pets at an early age and though we only had fish and birds and a cat at home, dogs and other animals became a special love of mine. I have been cat, dog, bird and other little furry friend sitting for over four decades and have done so for several years as a 5 star sitter on Trusted Housesitters. I love making new furry friends, both for sharing my positive, attentive energy with them, and for nourishing in the innocent sweet playfulness they often offer. I’ve often been told that other than happy pets, there was no sign I had even been there! I am currently freelancing/focusing my time on writing projects so I often have a flexible schedule....and love taking work breaks with furry friends! A veteran 5-start pet-sitter, I am new to Rover and am figuring out how the calendar and geography works so it can reflect where I am and when I'm available. Most folks comment that they can barely tell I've been there. Cleanliness, respect, and loving care are my hallmarks. I make sure to honor any requests and instructions for people's homes, which often have quirks and special needs -- and to of course respect privacy too, just as I would as a social worker. As for furry friends, they get exceptional, reliable, patient, playful, caring energy from me while I make sure that all their food, litter, or other needs are met.
About: I have owned 2 dogs of my own, one cane corso and also a rot weiler. I believe dogs are just like kids, they need your time and attention. I love playing or even just keeping your pet company while you’re away! I’m currently a full time nursing student looking to make some extra money as I am not working right now. About: I’ve worked in animal welfare for 20 years and have experience with every size, breed and need! I’m comfortable administering medication and most importantly, I love animals so much that I’ve dedicated my life to them :). I work full time from home. I have flexible hours and usually go on several walks around my neighborhood a day. The longest I’d be away from home ranges from 2-4 hours and that can be adjusted based on your pets’ needs. I have a fenced yard and lots of love to give! There’s plenty of space in my house for crate(s) and I also welcome dog snuggles if they are allowed to sleep in the bed. I don’t have any other pets in the home but have lots of friends with dogs if yours likes the company.
