About: Now that I have graduated college and I am living back home! I have a lot of time to do one of my favorite things which is to care for animals! I have experience rescuing dogs and giving them loving homes. In the past I have trained with a dog trainer to get a better sense on how to better work with dogs. I am an early bird, I usually start my days at 5:30! I make sure to get some exercise and take a morning walks. I have a very strong ritual of waking up early and being active. I usually take the afternoons to read and prepare my applications for JD/PHD programs. In between these two things in my schedule, I have a lot of free time that I would love to spend with your pets! I also do not mind traveling to different boroughs if needed!! In my own home, I have a very large living room space, which gives pets spaces to stretch, lay out, play and or explore. In clients home I always make sure to know what boundaries/ areas are off limits for the pets and respect that.

“In November my previous Rover pet-sitter found full-time employment so I needed to find a new sitter for my amazing cat Huckleberry and quickly because my husband and I would be traveling over Christmas week. I immediately started my search for local pet-sitters on the Rover app. When I read Arthur’s bio I was immediately struck by his focus on cats. This was not something I had seen before as cats typically seem to be an afterthought or at least second to dogs in most pet-sitters bios. About: I Work nights! I am off Thursday and Friday nights. I've rasied my 80lb. Female dog from when she was 4 weeks old to about 6 years. I'm very active and love to take my dog out for runs. Very disciplined and have taught my big girl to behave politely in NYC. I've taken care of huskies and smaller dogs like chihuahuas and poodles for neighbors as well! I work overnights and just moved to an Tamnersville. I would love to walk or just spend time with a dog. My dog is home on staten island with family and I miss spending time with dogs so much! Hygiene and cleanliness at home are priority. A lot of canine care is knowing what each dogs' wants and needs are. Each dog will communicate to you what they want and need. Communication with the owner is key along with ensuring the dog is well fed and stimulated!

About: I used to think I was a dog person—until one day my roommate got a kitten. And since then had subsequent roommates with cats that I cared for as if they were my own. I’ve since gotten my own cat child Umami who I love immensely, for the few years I’ve had her. She’s been indoor-outdoor as I respect her desire for freedom and exploration, but am the happiest when she comes back for not just food but cuddles too. About: I didn’t get to experience the joy of growing up with dogs or cats but as soon as I was able I began taking in fosters from the NYC shelter system. It was quite a learning experience spending time with many dogs (and a few cats) of all different types and personalities. I no longer foster but I bring the experience and dedication from working with so many shelter pets to caring for your furry family members. And as a pet parent now myself I have been through many sitters so I understand what makes a good one! A note on boarding and meet and greets: I’m happy to have boarding candidates come by to meet me and check out the space but I do not do meet and greets with my own dogs. My dogs are dog friendly but they are too chaotic and excitable to meet new dogs and owners right away. New dogs are kept separate at first and introduced at their own pace when everyone is calm. This minimizes stress for everyone and allows for better interactions. I currently work out of the house Monday/Wednesday/Friday but my schedule is somewhat flexible. The rest of the week I work at home and I am often available all weekend. Dogs in my home have access to a securely fenced large yard for running and fetch, as well as a quiet neighborhood for walks. If the weather is warm dogs have access to a dog door so they may go outside as they please. If your dog likes to play with other dogs mine will certainly be happy to accommodate but they can also have separate spaces if quiet time is needed. In your home I will make every effort to keep your pets schedule as familiar as possible while offering lots of love and stimulation. As someone who has had many sitters come through and stay at my house I understand the importance of trust and cleanliness so you can be away without worry.

About: Hello! I’m a professional writer who works from home and often watches my neighbors’ dogs just because I think it’s fun. I joined Rover to help others who might need last-minute dog sitting. My own golden retriever Emmett chills with me all day and we go for walks around the block at lunchtime and we’d love for your friend to join us! I host one dog at a time (in addition to Emmett). I’ve been around dogs and pets of all kinds my whole life and am happy to just spend some quality time feeding, patting, walking or running with a good pooch. I walk Emmett every day at least three times a day so it’s really easy to add an additional dog to the mix. I’m home all day so we all hang. Our yard is unfortunately not fenced but because I spend a lot of time at my computer I balance that with a lot of midday dog walks. When your pet stays here it’s very chill; as long as your dog gets along with Emmett they’ll have full range of the house and can snooze wherever and then we’ll go walk about around the block a few times, which nets out to be about a mile.

Meredith is also available for dog walking! Our dog Sammy is a neutered 12 year old male. He is sweet as can be and either a total couch potato or pulling on a hike, no in-between. He gets along with every dog he’s met and we are very experienced at managing him with other dogs! Both of us work from home and we have a beautiful fenced yard that your pup will get plenty of access to. We are able to accommodate most every type of activity level. We can accommodate neighborhood walks, playing fetch, hiking long or short in preserves - just let us know what your pupper needs! Our home has a small fenced yard, and a large gravel run that we can play fetch in! Our home is counter safe and we keep the house clean and free from anything dogs can get into.
About: When I was 8, I wrote a poem about how badly I wanted to hang out with animals all day, added my parents' land line #, and then made a ton of copies for each mailbox in the neighborhood. I was sole proprietor of the Elizabeth's House, Dog, Cat, & Plant Sitting operation for about 10 years until I left home for undergrad. Now at 38 I've continued to offer my services to any family, friends, coworkers, etc. in need of a responsible, thoughtful, detail-oriented person for house, pet, and or plant sitting. About: Now that I have graduated college and I am living back home! I have a lot of time to do one of my favorite things which is to care for animals! I have experience rescuing dogs and giving them loving homes. In the past I have trained with a dog trainer to get a better sense on how to better work with dogs. I am an early bird, I usually start my days at 5:30! I make sure to get some exercise and take a morning walks. I have a very strong ritual of waking up early and being active. I usually take the afternoons to read and prepare my applications for JD/PHD programs. In between these two things in my schedule, I have a lot of free time that I would love to spend with your pets! I also do not mind traveling to different boroughs if needed!! In my own home, I have a very large living room space, which gives pets spaces to stretch, lay out, play and or explore. In clients home I always make sure to know what boundaries/ areas are off limits for the pets and respect that.

“Kate has a very warm demeanor and my first impression when I brought our dog Astrid over to her house for a meet and greet before boarding, was that she would care for our dog as if she were her own. Astrid is usually quite anxious when she’s first introduced to a new person and a new environment, but she appeared to be more at ease much quicker with Kate at her house than she typically is. Kate sent us regular pictures and updates, was very flexible about our schedule for pickup and drop-off, prompt and easy to communicate with, and we didn’t worry about Astrid at all. We will certainly reach out to Kate again when planning future boarding accommodations for our sweet Astrid.”
