“John was great from the start! I inquired about using him as a last minute weekend sitter. I was in full panic mode because our usual sitter was unavailable due to emergency. John arranged a meet and greet several hours later where he and our dog took to each other instantly. His house is clean and accommodating for a pup, or more! His fenced in backyard is great and the neighborhood he is in is quiet and safe. The very next morning is when we needed him for, so our dog was dropped off bright and early. I got a couple updates a day via messages and every message included at least 3-4 photos and videos. From the start you could tell he was attentive based on the questions he was asking me. We’ve never used Rover before and Luna has never stayed with anyone other than a few family members so it was a first for all of us. We would 10/10 use John again and we hope this review helps others feel at ease with his services!! :)”

“Where do I even begin? Heidi and her family were life savers. I had a different host that I had booked well over a month before my trip, and on the day of drop off I could not get a hold of her. I was in pure panic mode, and I found Heidi. She lives even closer to my home so that was another bonus. I got all the pictures and updates constantly. She treated my fur baby as if she were her own. She gave my girl a homemade pup cup, sweet potato and rice on her food, and all the snuggles. I know that she was truly in the best hands, and the first host falling through was a blessing in disguise. I would definitely book with her again!”

About: I’ve spent many years around cats of all personalities, from shy and independent to playful and affectionate. I’m happy to let a cat warm up to me at their own pace. I’ve personally cared for a cat who required daily medication on a strict schedule, so I understand the importance of keeping their routine consistent. I’m comfortable giving injections and mixing medication with food. For medications that require more hands-on administration, I’m happy to discuss the details beforehand to make sure I’m a good fit. About: I have taken care of animals my whole life. Been boarding and running daycare full time for 10+ years. I have studied dog behaviors, CPR trained, used to train and have spent my life learning dogs. I board 7 days a week and run daycare Tues-Fri We have a large dog specific room which daycare is run out of (while boarding your dog can join daycare for no extra cost) this room has a dog door that leads to the large fenced in yard. If you bring your pet to my house they will be treated like one of my family members! I work full time Monday-Friday 7:30-4, but my husband works from home and I am home all day during the weekends. About: Aside from my 3 personal pets, I have raised 4 Seeing Eye dogs and pet sat for over a dozen families. I have experience in dog first aid, potty training, and reactive dogs. Socialization is important and I have the knowledge on how to do so safely for each individual dog. All breeds of dogs are welcome. I work from home and am available 24/7. In addition, through the years, I have also been a pet parent to a horse, guinea pigs, hermit crabs, tropical fish, goldfish, and hamsters. Family and friends routinely ask me for pet care advice since I have had pets for so many years and trained my own puppies through self teaching. I also have experience administering medications. I care for my own four dogs on a daily basis ranging in age from 3 to 17 and have raised them from puppies. We have play time and snuggle time at different times each day. There is plenty of extra time and love each day to care for your fur baby too. I have a fenced yard on just under 1/2 acre, and my four dogs love to romp and play which is part of their daily routine. They also love long walks or going for a car ride. They are all crate trained and feel that their crate is their special place, so the doors are always open for them to have their alone/rest time when they want to after play time (if they are not trying to claim a spot on the couch or in the recliner). One especially likes the couch and the others love to sleep in bed at night.
About: I previously worked at a doggie daycare and pet boarding facility and have been pet sitting for several years. I am comfortable giving medications (both pills and injections) to both cats and dogs and other animals with proper instructions. I currently have a flexible schedule to care for your pets as needed. I'm very active and able to exercise your pet as much as possible, or just hang out and give them TLC if that's what they prefer! I'm available to watch your pet in your home so that they can stay in a place that they are comfortable and familiar with and stick with their normal routine!
About: I have owned cats my entire life and spent years volunteering with numerous animal rescue groups. I have been rescuing outdoor kittens since I was young and have had many pets from dogs to rabbits to guinea pigs to rats and mice and gerbals and reptiles and fish. I work full time from home so I have some flexibility during the day but only if you are super close to me. After work there is full flexibility. I do my best to make sure that your fluffy family is able to keep as much to their normal routine as possible. About: My name is Stuart, I am relocating to the area as I am starting a position at Albany Medical Center (AMC) in October. As I wait to begin my next chapter, nothing would make me more happy than to spend time with animals! I have always had a knack for the outdoors and have always had a soft spot for animals. I am an avid runner and am almost always be found running or hiking. I can guaranteed your dog will get the exercise and care he/she needs under my supervision. I have experience volunteering at the Lake Placid Vet as-well as volunteer experience at the Saranac Lake Animal Shelter. There is fenced in dog parks within the complex for easy bathroom visits as well as prolonged paved trails right next to my apartment that go into the woods for longer walks in the evening around lunchtime and in the morning. Dog Gates secure the dog within our second floor, preventing entry to third floor bedrooms and first floor mudroom. Dogs will have eyes on them at all times when not with owner.
About: I've always had a love for animals and have been taking care of pets for the past 10+ years. Making sure your pets are comfortable in my care is my top priority. I have experience working with several types of pets, from guinea pigs to cats to dogs. I've also volunteered at animal shelters as well. I have a gentle presence with animals but can be firm if needed (rarely). The usual routine when I dog sit is to make sure they are fed, have water, go outside as needed for the bathroom and to play, go on walks, make sure pets feel comfortable with a different person taking care of them. I always make sure to follow the necessary steps to ensure that your pet is safe with me, based on the information you provide as the pet parent (re: if they use a leash, if the yard is fenced, when they do/do not wear their collar, etc). I will follow the same routine that you & your pet follow to maintain comfort & safety.

John arranged a meet and greet several hours later where he and our dog took to each other instantly. His house is clean and accommodating for a pup, or more! His fenced in backyard is great and the neighborhood he is in is quiet and safe. The very next morning is when we needed him for, so our dog was dropped off bright and early. I got a couple updates a day via messages and every message included at least 3-4 photos and videos. From the start you could tell he was attentive based on the questions he was asking me. We’ve never used Rover before and Luna has never stayed with anyone other than a few family members so it was a first for all of us. “Where do I even begin? Heidi and her family were life savers. I had a different host that I had booked well over a month before my trip, and on the day of drop off I could not get a hold of her. I was in pure panic mode, and I found Heidi. She lives even closer to my home so that was another bonus. I got all the pictures and updates constantly. She treated my fur baby as if she were her own. She gave my girl a homemade pup cup, sweet potato and rice on her food, and all the snuggles. I know that she was truly in the best hands, and the first host falling through was a blessing in disguise. I would definitely book with her again!”
