About: My own dogs are always the #1 teacher. They show me how to best care for them - with food, play, training, medications, travel, sleepless days and nights when they've been ill, and giving them all them comfort I can. I've volunteered at dog shelters, spent hours walking dogs in all kinds of weather, and offered comfort to friends who've had to say goodbye to their best fur friends. I currently work from home and have a flexible schedule that allows me to give your pets plenty of attention - playing, feeding, and scratching behind the ears. I take my dog for swims in the river, off leash romps in the woods, and leashed walks around town. We also play fetch and tug-of-war in the house or on the deck. About: Hello! My partner and I have dog-sat for friends many times, but the request doesn’t come frequently enough! We’re happy to host your pet and treat it as if it were our own. We work nearby our apartment and can walk your dog during the day. We are fine with pets on our furniture and in our bed, but will respect any training you have in place. We’ll joyfully take your pet on long walks and adhere to feeding schedules. I have trained my family dogs in the past, and are happy to teach your pup a few new tricks! We ask for well-behaved, house-trained dogs OR crate-trained provided you have a crate. We’ll adore your pet completely while you’re away with all the attention you would provide to be sure it doesn’t get too lonely without you! Happy to send through photo updates so you can sleep easy knowing they’re in good hands. I have been working from home and accommodate just about every dog’s schedule! Generally, most of the dogs we sit are walked 2-4 times a day and fed twice. About: I didn’t get to experience the joy of growing up with dogs or cats but as soon as I was able I began taking in fosters from the NYC shelter system. It was quite a learning experience spending time with many dogs (and a few cats) of all different types and personalities. I no longer foster but I bring the experience and dedication from working with so many shelter pets to caring for your furry family members. And as a pet parent now myself I have been through many sitters so I understand what makes a good one! A note on boarding and meet and greets: I’m happy to have boarding candidates come by to meet me and check out the space but I do not do meet and greets with my own dogs. My dogs are dog friendly but they are too chaotic and excitable to meet new dogs and owners right away. New dogs are kept separate at first and introduced at their own pace when everyone is calm. This minimizes stress for everyone and allows for better interactions. I currently work out of the house Monday/Wednesday/Friday but my schedule is somewhat flexible. The rest of the week I work at home and I am often available all weekend. Dogs in my home have access to a securely fenced large yard for running and fetch, as well as a quiet neighborhood for walks. If the weather is warm dogs have access to a dog door so they may go outside as they please. If your dog likes to play with other dogs mine will certainly be happy to accommodate but they can also have separate spaces if quiet time is needed. In your home I will make every effort to keep your pets schedule as familiar as possible while offering lots of love and stimulation. As someone who has had many sitters come through and stay at my house I understand the importance of trust and cleanliness so you can be away without worry.

They are 14 years young, so they have started to have some slight health decline (cataracts, arthritis, hyperthyroidism), so I have gotten better and better at senior cat care. One of my kitties requires a pill twice a day, so I am an expert at administering pills to cats as well. I am also very good about making sure they have the freshest litter and litter boxes. I even house their litter boxes in special enclosures to give them privacy and a place of their own to do their business. From caring for my own pets, to feeding the squirrels and birds in my backyard, to rescuing stray cats - my love for animals knows no bounds. All animals deserve love, and I promise to care for you pets as if they were my own ❤️ I work full-time for a non-profit, but I work from home 3 days a week and only go into the office 2 times a week. This means I have some flexibility in my schedule on week days. On weekends I am wide open! At my home, I have a routine with my animals. They are fed right around the same times everyday, they are given fresh water twice a day, my one cat gets his medicine at the same time twice a day, and they all get a lot of pets and some treats daily as well. My puppy gets at least 2 walks a day, some swim time if the weather is nice, and A LOT of play time with her many toys every day. My cats do not like to play much now that they are older, but I do my best to keep them active with the few toys they show interest in. I have also converted my back porch into an enclosed catio in order to fulfill their dreams of being outdoor cats! “Janice and her family took such good care of Moo while we were gone. We don’t typically leave Moo when we go places, so we were a little nervous to not be with her for the weekend but all our worries were squashed when we arrived at the property and saw all the land and how Janice and her family loved Moo. We got many pictures and updates which were incredibly appreciated. We will be using Janice whenever we need someone to watch Moo or if Moo just needs a farm getaway! Can’t recommend enough.”
“First of all, I was super nervous to leave my precious Teddy with someone we didn't know (and the first time he'd have been left with someone we didn't know) & Rebecca was fantastic! Kept me in the loop with how teddy was doing, got him calmed down cause he was nervous too/ sent me photos of my lil guy throughout his stay with them... I couldn't say enough good things about our experience! Teddy seemed to love them too and that's what matters to me. I'll definitely be wanting Rebecca to watch him on our future summer adventures where pups aren't allowed. THANKS SO MUCH!”

About: Animals have and always will be an integral part of my human nature. To make sure animals are provided with exercise, love and compassion are ways I express my values as an animal advocate. Keeping routine is my forte. I have most experience with dogs, all breeds and sizes! Walking is how I keep routine and promote a sense of well being for both my own animals and others 😌 Currently seeking full time pet care. Exercise takes time and I enjoy the physical aspect of a healthy lifestyle. Keeping a balance of short and or long walks. Depending on the breed I could make exercise minimal or lengthy. Currently I have a 15ft by 5ft outdoor kennel. Yard is well maintained with space and away from any roads. Private residence. I keep my small dog on a lead. Lead is also an option for other animals. My yard has plenty of space for playtime and fetching.

“I highly recommend Amanda! This was my first time using Rover as well as my 5 year old dog's first time staying with anyone other than family. Amanda was great with communication from the beginning and reassuring throughout the whole process from initial contact to setting up a meet and greet to regular updates while we were away.
