“We left our two small dogs with Alex for a three day weekend. This is the first time our dogs have not been with us and without any exaggeration, we could not have hoped for a better experience! One of our dogs has separation anxiety issues. Within a short time of being left there Alex had him relaxed and having fun playing and feeling comfortable in his unknown surroundings. We did leave both of them with Alex for a short three hour dog sitting session a few days before so it wasn’t totally unknown, this may have helped a bit. But Alex is a bit of a dog whisperer himself, and is very in tune to the dogs condition and needs. They gave us wonderful updates with videos and photos, as well as texts, keeping us up-to-date on what activities the dogs were involved with at the time. Which was very reassuring. They provide a wonderful environment for the animals.”

About: Dogs have been a part of my life for a long time. I grew up surrounded by them, but I was lucky enough to work with them as well. I've worked in a Veterinary Hospital as a Kennel Attendant, as well as volunteered at dog rescues where I helped with rehabilitating dangerous large dogs. I've also worked at a doggie daycare center, where I was responsible for assigning dogs to play groups and monitoring their behavior to ensure their safety. Because of this, I've learned to effectively monitor dog behavior and body language to interpret when they are comfortable, scared, or need to be separated from other dogs. I have experience giving medications and insulin injections, and know how to be careful with older or injured dogs with limited mobility. I'm a stay-at-home mom, so I would be by your dog's side all day. Because of this it can be time for walkies or running around in the fenced yard basically any time doggo needs it. The door to the yard connects to the main living room, so if they want to bounce between being inside and outside it's easy to do so. My son and I also enjoy going for stroller walks around the neighborhood, so doggo gets to tag along with us for that as well to get some sniffs in. I have a fenced in yard for your dog to sprint around, and can take them for walks around the neighborhood. If your pup still gets bored we can take a car ride and go for some walks on nearby nature trails. In my home your pup is welcome to lounge on the furniture with me, and could follow me around throughout the day if they were feeling clingy (like my dog). Dog toys are always scattered around the house, and your pup can help themselves. For boarding, dogs also sleep in the same bedroom as me so they will not be alone overnight. (Exceptions being the dog may sleep in a separate room if they have potty issues, as the bedroom is carpeted.) My standard poodle Eleanor will always be with us, and will occasionally want to play as well. She is typically pretty mellow (after initial meeting) and doesn't run around much, but occasionally she finds a dog she clicks with and will want to play chase with them around the yard if they reciprocate with her. Have an older dog? Don't worry, she is just as happy to lay around with them. ***We do have a baby in the home, which is important to note. Baby is never allowed to touch the guest doggos, and is never left unattended with your dog EVER. We may temporarily keep baby and dog separated in different rooms via a baby gate if the baby is crawling around as we get to know your dog and their reaction to the baby. I am very diligent when it comes to ensuring the safety and comfort of your dog while in the same house with a baby, and their interactions will be monitored and in most cases limited. If you know your dog is reactive to small children, please kindly understand our family home is not a good fit for them.
About: I started walking my next door neighbor’s Boston Terrier when I was around 10. She knew I was an animal lover, and even let me experiment with some training with her pup. This led to me getting into agility training and just general dog training, which I have started to pick back up again. I am known as the family dog sitter, as my family has a combination of Pit Bulls, Bernedoodles, and hunting breeds, so I’ve worked with dogs of all shapes and sizes and stubbornness! About: I had a cat for 20 years and cage aninals when i was young. I have owned a dog with anxiety so patience was key. He needed Medication for that and his hips. I own two cats and a hedgehog. My cats come to a whistle, know how to sit and lay down, go to their blanket where ever it is. My older cat is great in the car and the younger cat I am currently training. I cut their nails and bathe them myself. Both are leash trained. I handle my hedgehog daily so that he is well socialized. My cats never bothered the rats or the hedgehog when let out of the cages. They would sleep woth the dog when no one was home. I work 12 hour over night shifts for my regular job. I am looking for day time and, when off night time or overnight opertunities to fit my shifting schedule. I work in Macedon and live in West Henrietta so I am flexible with locations. I am a quiet private person. I have two cats and a hedgehog. I previously owned rats, a dog, leopard gecko, and other caged animals Cages, boxes, bowls and, other cage items are cleaned daily as well as deep cleaning every 4 to 5 days or as needed. I enjoyed taking the dog as well as my cat for a walk! I have patience with animals with anxiety. I walk or handle pets that friends have such as snakes and birds.

“We left our two small dogs with Alex for a three day weekend. This is the first time our dogs have not been with us and without any exaggeration, we could not have hoped for a better experience! One of our dogs has separation anxiety issues. Within a short time of being left there Alex had him relaxed and having fun playing and feeling comfortable in his unknown surroundings. We did leave both of them with Alex for a short three hour dog sitting session a few days before so it wasn’t totally unknown, this may have helped a bit. But Alex is a bit of a dog whisperer himself, and is very in tune to the dogs condition and needs. They gave us wonderful updates with videos and photos, as well as texts, keeping us up-to-date on what activities the dogs were involved with at the time. Which was very reassuring. They provide a wonderful environment for the animals.”

About: I grew up around animals. I have taken care of my own dogs, cats, rabbits and fish throughout my life. I have also taken care of friends pets when they’ve gone out of town. I am comfortable with large and small dogs, cats, and caged animals. I’m currently working part time so I have plenty of time for your pets. I have a 4yr old who is comfortable around animals and I am available for boarding if your animal is comfortable with men, women, and children. I live on a quiet street in an apartment and look forward to walking with your dog at my home or yours. I am comfortable working with multiple kinds of collars and leashes.
“Amazing! Our first time using Rover and Amber set the bar! From the start, she made us feel comfortable leaving our puppy in her care. Very knowledgeable in puppy’s and their quirks. She is very communicative - from questions before booking, through booking changes, and while our pup was in her care - kept me posted on how he was doing and even provided pictures! Something that really helps a first time puppy mom! She also kept our puppy active which was great after a long trip - he slept the entire night and even slept in late!! Additionally, I have also raised two dogs for Guiding Eyes for the Blind. We had to say goodbye to our beloved, old shitzu this past year.
