She reduces anxieties naturally by listening carefully and observing astutely. Hygge had never been away or 'boarded' for pet sitting prior to my experience with Andrea. At all times she was communicative, caring and purposeful in her interactions with Hygge, who probably worried about being in a new home away from home for a few days on many levels. My transportation plans were delayed due to a severe storm that prevented my scheduled pick up, and Andrea was patient, reasonable and loving during my own stress about being stuck in NYC beyond my control for the pick up of my dog after traveling for a few days. She worked with me every step of the way, and the boarding experience was a total success even with transportation issues. Hygge returned home happy, healthy, well-nourished and satisfied with renewed confidence in his ability to work with another lovely family in our sweet community in a spirit of trust and sucess. About: As lifelong dog owners who love to travel, we know how nerve racking it can be to leave your beloved pets in the care of strangers. We have 2 acres of property, of which a significant portion is fully fenced to let your dogs run and play with the security of knowing they are safe. We have three fenced in areas to separate dogs that might prefer to play on their own. Our resident dogs are Emma, who's never met a dog she didn't consider her best friend, and Honey, our bossy Pomeranian. We own an on-property outbuilding behind our home that is insulated, heated, and has water and electric. We are also very flexible for special needs guests--just tell us about your dog and what he or she needs to feel comfortable away from you. We will also provide pictures during your dog's stay if that is desired. Even if you have a unique situation, please inquire, we're happy to work with you! We are currently working from home and have plenty of time and space to provide your pup with the care and attention he or she needs! We have three fenced in dog areas along with a heated, insulated outbuilding with water and electric. Depending on how many dogs we are hosting, your pup will sleep comfortably in a crate with soft bedding with other dogs secured nearby. We are very flexible and happy to provide tailored service depending on your pup's needs.

About: I have been working as a vet tech for 4 years. I have quite a few clients I go to their home for nail clips and gland expressions, I been doing that for 2-3 years. I have plenty of time to care for your babies, taking time for a bit to do so. I know days you have things come up and need something asap I will be able to provide that. “Barbara is downright awesome. Leaving a pet for the first time is always tough, but Barbara made it as easy as could be. It doesn't hurt that our pooches both absolutely adore her! Beyond that, she was very communicative from the time we first messaged all the way up through the visit and beyond. We had a somewhat last minute family emergency that meant we had to cancel one visit and shift another, and Barbara was very understanding and flexible. Our pups can really be handful together (or by themselves sometimes, if we're being honest), but Barbara followed our instructions for how to play with them without it getting out of hand and by all accounts everyone had a blast. We got lots of wonderful pictures and updates from Barbara of our pups with their happiest faces on, playing with each other and by themselves. As I write this, the morning after coming home, our pooches are happy and playful but rested and not overly insane, just like I'd expect after day of good fun. I (and really, my dogs Tina & Russell) would absolutely recommend giving your dogs the opportunity to hang out with Barbara next time you need to get away.”
About: I grew up in a home that always had multiple animals. Whether it was cats, dogs, fish, snakes and plenty more I was always taking care of different animals. Now as I’ve grown older the love for animals has not stopped. Dogs are really the best companions and can understand you more than some humans. The love I have for animals is truly the same love I have for family members. I’ll always make sure they are being well taken care of, fed, running freely or on walks, playing and always loved! Your dog will be treated like my own! My work schedule varies quite a bit, I may need to go into work sometimes & in that case my mother is typically home anyway. About: When I was a little girl, I read the warrior cat series and fell in love with cats. I decided I had to have one. It took me over two years to convince my parents, but once I got my first (a five year that had been abandoned at the shelter on Christmas) I was hooked. I love every cat, not just my own. Eventually even the most aloof, unfriendly, feral old curmudgeon of a kitty has my respect. I will never force a cat that doesn't want to be bothered to give me attention. That said, I'm very good at doing towel burritos around them if they do need to get a nail trimming or insulin injection. I love to play with them and find new ways to give them enrichment. I really believe cats deserve the attention and commitment dogs do.

About: I didn’t get to experience the joy of growing up with dogs or cats but as soon as I was able I began taking in fosters from the NYC shelter system. It was quite a learning experience spending time with many dogs (and a few cats) of all different types and personalities. I no longer foster but I bring the experience and dedication from working with so many shelter pets to caring for your furry family members. And as a pet parent now myself I have been through many sitters so I understand what makes a good one! A note on boarding and meet and greets: I’m happy to have boarding candidates come by to meet me and check out the space but I do not do meet and greets with my own dogs. My dogs are dog friendly but they are too chaotic and excitable to meet new dogs and owners right away. New dogs are kept separate at first and introduced at their own pace when everyone is calm. This minimizes stress for everyone and allows for better interactions. I currently work out of the house Monday/Wednesday/Friday but my schedule is somewhat flexible. The rest of the week I work at home and I am often available all weekend. Dogs in my home have access to a securely fenced large yard for running and fetch, as well as a quiet neighborhood for walks. If the weather is warm dogs have access to a dog door so they may go outside as they please. If your dog likes to play with other dogs mine will certainly be happy to accommodate but they can also have separate spaces if quiet time is needed. In your home I will make every effort to keep your pets schedule as familiar as possible while offering lots of love and stimulation. As someone who has had many sitters come through and stay at my house I understand the importance of trust and cleanliness so you can be away without worry.

About: As lifelong dog owners who love to travel, we know how nerve racking it can be to leave your beloved pets in the care of strangers. We have 2 acres of property, of which a significant portion is fully fenced to let your dogs run and play with the security of knowing they are safe. We have three fenced in areas to separate dogs that might prefer to play on their own. Our resident dogs are Emma, who's never met a dog she didn't consider her best friend, and Honey, our bossy Pomeranian. We own an on-property outbuilding behind our home that is insulated, heated, and has water and electric. We are also very flexible for special needs guests--just tell us about your dog and what he or she needs to feel comfortable away from you. We will also provide pictures during your dog's stay if that is desired. Even if you have a unique situation, please inquire, we're happy to work with you! We are currently working from home and have plenty of time and space to provide your pup with the care and attention he or she needs! We have three fenced in dog areas along with a heated, insulated outbuilding with water and electric. Depending on how many dogs we are hosting, your pup will sleep comfortably in a crate with soft bedding with other dogs secured nearby. We are very flexible and happy to provide tailored service depending on your pup's needs.
