“So imagine the sweetest person in the world and triple it and you will get Julie. My dog is 14, blind, has dementia, and needs to be let out frequently. Basically he needs round the clock eyes on him. Julie not only did an amazing job with him but thanked us for allowing her the time with our dog. She walked him a handful of times per day (which is not easy with a blind dog) and cared for him maybe better than we do. She is an excellent communicator; she gave us updates and sent us multiple photos, making us feel so at ease. You can leave your dog with Julie knowing they are being treated like family. You can tell she really has a true love for dogs. We cannot express enough how grateful we are to have found her, we only wish we found her sooner. We LOVE Julie!”

About: I’m 59 years old and I’ve cared for many dog breeds since I was 10, poodle, lab, mixed breeds, golden doodle, pitbull mix. I take pride in how I take care of my dog from what I feed him, clean up after him, and keep him happy and comfortable. I believe I can offer the same attention to detail for a guest dogs needs. I am a full time programmer at the Riverhead County Clerk’s Office working 7-3 Mon-Fri, I would like to try boarding on the weekends and possibly during the week as I get more comfortable with this process I have a fenced in yard 4 foot fence, and own a 5 year old mixed breed terrier that loves to play. I’d be looking to care for friendly small to medium sized dogs that have are up to date on shots from the vet. I have a spare large crate if needed but it would be best if you have your own since your pet is used to that one. I’d like to see vet records of shots and meet before hand to make sure our pets get along

I currently have two at home, Luna, a 10-year-old rescue terrier mix, and Tobi, a 6-year-old Pembroke Welsh corgi. Altogether my extended family includes 6 dogs, 2 cats, and a few chickens. (You should see our house at Christmas!) I have lots of experience with both small and large dogs but I love all shapes and sizes. “We had to get work done to our house and or dog couldn't be home during the day. I looked at other options and they just didn't fit what we needed. We'd have to take off some hours from work as the construction was done on our house. I hopped onto Rover and quickly found Ashley. The rates were affordable and her profile really stood out as someone who cares about pets. We consider our dog, Amber, one of our children. Ashley was amazing with pick up and drop off. Always on time which was great because we wanted Amber to be picked up before the workers got there. When we got home from work Ashley would drop her off. My dog gets anxious easily and that, in turn, made me anxious about her being with someone she didn't know in a place she had never been. But Ashley was reassuring and great with her, even in the car ride which Amber usually despises. Ashley sent pictures and updates of Amber relaxing and being happy each day. Highly recommended. About: My love for dogs knows no bounds! While I started actively caring for dogs about three years ago, I’ve had them in my life since I was 10. Taking my dogs to the beach or on trail walks is part of my daily routine. I realized that if I’m already bringing my own pups on adventures, why not share the fun and include other dogs too! I’m currently working full time Tuesday-Friday 9am-5pm but available after work too! Available anytime Monday, Saturday and Sunday. About: I have had dogs of different kinds throughout my whole life. Two rhodesian-ridgebacks, one pit bull, and a jack russel. In addition to this I have dog sat for close friends that have a Golden Doodle, A yorkshire terrier and even cats! I am prepared to deal with pet accidents, special instructions, walks, baths, feeding, etc. I am home from college for break until January 10th! I can work any day and I love all animals! I take care of my own dog every day so I am used to anything they throw at us! I got my own dog at 14 years old and am now almost 21. In high school, I woke two hours before I needed to be up for school and took my dog on a walk, then he was fed and taken out again before I left. In the afternoon after School I took my own dog and my family dog out for a walk while my mom was working from home. I bathe my dog on my own and pay for whatever he needs out of pocket. If I were to care for a dog in someone else’s home I would play with the dog and be extra conscious of the environment. Also I will take them on walks or runs and feed them when needed!! In the past when I have watched a friend’s dog they usually had instructions and times for me to go. I would do what they asked and stay a little longer to give them some company.

It is also rough out here being pre licensed, so anything extra helps. I’ve owned dogs all of life; I’ve had 6 dachshunds this far, so I have experience with dogs of all ages. Additionally, I’ve also been dog sitting for my relatives throughout the years. While my dogs are teenie tiny, I’ve walked medium and larger dogs before. Breed experience is as follows: dachshunds, Irish terrier, border collies, a husky, and a mastiff. Behaviors I’ve dealt with include anxiety, reactivity, and resource guarding. My most recent edition to my family guards and is very much a “my way or the highway” kind of dog. That being said, I’ve done a lot of research on dog behaviors and try to be mindful of their needs and body language. I have a background in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and learned a lot about conditioning and reinforcement in my years of education. I’m in no way a dog trainer, but I know when to reward desired behaviors and when not to reward. I prefer to stick to dog walking since my schedule outside of Rover is pretty demanding. While my schedule is fairly demanding outside of River, my days off from my other job are very open. I’d be open to providing services on Thursdays and Sundays :) I will ensure that any gates are closed and that I keep a watchful eye on your pet when they’re in your backyard. I’m very careful with my own dogs and will give the same respect and care towards your pets.

Im currently working part time and that allows me plenty of time to be available to pet walk or sit on the days I’m off. “I had a last minute emergency of not having someone to watch kylo while i went away. after constant searching my boyfriend recommended i try Rover and i found Jennifer .
