About: I’ve been around dogs for basically my whole life and I’ve always loved animals. I’ve been taking care of my own pets- walking, feeding, bathing, training, etc- for as long as I can remember. More recently I’ve taken care of friends pets while their owners are away- including dogs, cats, and a bunny. In these instances I was responsible for checking in on the pets a few times a day to feed them, let them outside, refill water, and give them lots of love and attention. I have also volunteered to dog walk at a few local shelters. I’m currently home from college for the summer and I have a lot of free time. I have a few short trips that are blocked out on my calendar and should be available otherwise. When walking dogs I try to always be aware of my surroundings and be on the lookout for cars, other dogs, or wild animals. My own dog can be a bit sneaky and is a big chewer so I know how important it is to be vigilant when watching dogs. I’ve also had a reactive dog in the past so I’m confident in my abilities to distract and remove a dog from a hostile situation. I am a college student and have a completely free schedule over the summer. I can come on same day notice and can stay over night. Between the two of us, someone is almost always home, so dogs are rarely left alone for more than two hours. Because I only accept a limited number of dogs at a time, each guest receives plenty of individualized attention, playtime, affection, and care throughout the day. My home is quiet, fully fenced, and designed to help dogs feel safe and comfortable. There are no children or resident pets, allowing me to provide a calm environment and plenty of one-on-one attention. Dogs are welcome on the furniture, have clean dog beds throughout the house, and can even sleep with us if that’s what they’re used to at home. I send daily photo and video updates, and you’re always welcome to message me anytime. Several veterinary hospitals and clinics are within a 5-minute drive if veterinary care is ever needed.
About: I’ve been around dogs for basically my whole life and I’ve always loved animals. I’ve been taking care of my own pets- walking, feeding, bathing, training, etc- for as long as I can remember. More recently I’ve taken care of friends pets while their owners are away- including dogs, cats, and a bunny. In these instances I was responsible for checking in on the pets a few times a day to feed them, let them outside, refill water, and give them lots of love and attention. I have also volunteered to dog walk at a few local shelters. I’m currently home from college for the summer and I have a lot of free time. I have a few short trips that are blocked out on my calendar and should be available otherwise. When walking dogs I try to always be aware of my surroundings and be on the lookout for cars, other dogs, or wild animals. My own dog can be a bit sneaky and is a big chewer so I know how important it is to be vigilant when watching dogs. I’ve also had a reactive dog in the past so I’m confident in my abilities to distract and remove a dog from a hostile situation. I’m always interested in learning more about proper pet care and have spent time researching pet safe foods and activities for my own pets. My goal is always to give a pet the best care possible.
About: Hi there! I’m Jess, a college educated writer and pet sitter who loves puppers. I’ve been working with animals of all sorts since I was 6 years old and volunteered on a farm, and I have experience with every dog from chihuahua to mastiff (the mastiff was mine!). I honestly love dogs, and everyone always says I’m great with animals- so why not spend some time with dogs during my free time? I’m gentle with my approaches, and on top of pet sitting I am a nanny- so I can handle any situation thrown at me! I also have experience as a life guard and in CPR and First Aid. I’ve never had a complaint, and I purely believe that’s because I love dogs, cats, and animals in general. I have a dog and a lizard so I’m always feeding/playing with/walking/grooming/cuddling someone! My dog gizmo is very energetic and a little bit difficult, so I’m comfortable with those more challenging cases. I also know reptile and cat care, as I’ve owned cats, lizards, and snakes—I grew up on farms lol I walk gizmo 2-3 times a day, feed him twice, give him medication, and play for at least 30 mins. I also bathe him and clean him after our walks.
