About: I mostly have experience with medium to larger dogs. I love going on walks so I will take pets along for the journey. I grew up with bulldogs and I’ve personally owned German Shepards and Huskies. I am currently in between jobs and preparing for a certification test for signed language interpreting. About: A little about me: I’ve had a dog by my side every day since I was six years old — dogs are an integral part of my life, not just something I do on the side. Over the years I’ve cared for dogs of every size, age, and temperament, from tiny lap dogs to a 90-pound Labrador, and from bouncy puppies to dogs in their older years. Experience: My deepest experience is with senior and special-needs dogs. My Labrador had a series of health challenges, including three separate leg surgeries. I nursed him through every recovery, which meant walking him with a support sling until he was back on his feet. When he was later diagnosed with cancer, I cared for him through hospice at home — giving his daily medications and keeping him comfortable and loved right to the end. So if your older dog needs medication, a little mobility help, or just extra patience and gentleness, that’s something I genuinely know how to do. I’m just as comfortable with high-energy dogs. That same Labrador was a handful in his younger years, so I know what it takes to keep a strong, active dog happy and well-exercised. I also love puppies and understand the patience and consistency they need. I’m happy to walk more than one dog at a time, and I have experience with leash-reactive dogs — I know how to keep walks calm, controlled, and low-stress for a dog who needs a little extra management. Right now I share my home with two girls — a 15-year-old Chihuahua mix and a 2-year-old Cairn Terrier — so both ends of the age spectrum are part of my daily routine. Before them I’ve cared for several terriers and a Border Collie mix, among others. I walk my own dogs every single day and I’ll keep yours on a good routine too. My younger dog gets dedicated playtime with her toys, and my senior girl gets her medication right on schedule every other day. I keep that same consistency and attention for any dog in my care — sticking to your dog's normal feeding, walking, medication, and potty routine so their world stays steady while you're away. When I care for your dog in your home, safety comes first. I keep all doors and gates closed and latched, and I'm constantly aware of where your dog is — especially any time I'm heading in or out, so there's no chance of an escape. I follow whatever house rules and routines you set. I also treat your home with the same respect I give my own. When I dog-sat for family and friends, I kept their house tidy, watered their plants, and brought in mail while they were away. I understand that every dog has a unique personality, routine, and set of needs, and I am committed to providing dependable, compassionate care that helps them feel safe and comfortable while you are away. I have hands-on experience training and caring for several of my family’s dogs. My experience includes leash training, reinforcing positive behaviors, administering oral medications, maintaining feeding schedules, and providing regular walks and playtime. I am comfortable following specific care instructions and adapting to each dog’s energy level, temperament, and daily routine. I am also attentive to the ways dogs communicate their needs. Whether a dog is feeling stressed, hungry, excited, tired, overheated, or simply in need of reassurance, I recognize the importance of observing their body language and behavior closely. I prioritize safe walks, hydration, a calm environment, and plenty of positive interaction to ensure each dog receives the care and attention they deserve.
“Most of the Rover sitters have been great, but we were starting to run into scheduling and response-time problems with the 20-somethings. I decided to try Patricia (started out by walking both our dogs) and she is the mature and responsible dog sitter/walker we've been looking for. We plan to have Patricia do some house sitting for us soon when we can take some badly-needed time away from our business.”
About: In college I was a house and pet sitter. I have had pets since I was in elementary school and am now a senior. I currently have three dogs of my own. I’m emotionally intelligent and good to work with. I work a half day as an Occupational Therapist educator in Wednesdays and as an OT practitioner on Fridays. I would be available in the afternoons on these days. I will not take care of pets in my home but am happy to come to yours to care for, walk, pet and feed your fur babies.
