In the past we have used a great local kennel but due to concerns about the horrible canine virus circulating in several states last year we decided to try something different this trip. We paid a little more than we normally would have, but our dogs were less stressed due to the calmer environment (no other dogs, did not have to be crated at night) and the loving attention provided by Mark. Mark was great at sending daily updates and pics via messaging throughout the stay so that we could see how our pups were doing. I’m sure Mark stays pretty booked due to his loving care but we would definitely consider using his service again for futures needs, assuming he is available.”

Our yard is completely fenced six foot high with no gaps. The dogs will stay outside unless it’s cold or rainy. Inside, I keep a clean (tho covered in fur), dog-friendly space with water always available and hazardous items well out of reach. There are two cats inside so I do need to know if your dog is or isn’t cat friendly. I know dog body language from my years of boarding, so I can spot stress or overstimulation before it becomes an issue. If any pup needs a break, I have quiet spaces set up for alone time. I also require updated vaccines and am comfortable giving oral medications if needed. With two friendly resident dogs, I carefully manage introductions and group play to make sure everyone feels safe and comfortable.

“Maellin was an absolutely wonderful dog sitter; she had excellent communication across the board. Sharing updates and photos of Navi every day. I could tell from the photos that she took such good care of her, Navi was smiling, and really warmed up to Maellin, which she doesn’t do with everyone. It was over the 4th, and Navi was quite nervous about the fireworks. Maellin took every measure to ensure her greatest ease and comfort, bringing her into their bedroom and turning on some background noise to help drown it out. Maellin is also a wonderfully sweet human; she will 100% be my first choice anytime we need care for Navi.”
“Apollo can be a handful with his anxiety and reactivity, and Bri handled it beautifully. They had a rocky first night, because he kept barking at every small noise. After several hours of this, he had her a bit worried about whether or not she could get him to settle down and sleep. But she stuck with it and got him to calm down and pass out. From there the visit went great. She followed our feeding and medication instructions exactly, worked on some training with him during his stay, and did a nice job with redirecting his attention when he got reactive on walks. Communication was excellent throughout. I received regular photos and updates, and she flagged any concerns as they came up rather than letting them sit. The best sign of how the weekend went: at pickup, Apollo planted himself on and between her feet multiple times while we were talking about how the weekend went. He clearly trusts and adores her, which can be difficult given his anxiety. We'll absolutely be booking with her again!”

Our cats are very skittish, and do not really like strangers, but Misty did everything she could to socialize with the cats and make them comfortable. By the end of the stay, I believe the cats were not as afraid, and started warming up to her, which is a big accomplishment! She sent pictures and updates daily, and assured us that things were going well. She kindly agreed to feed and water the wild birds and rabbits, and even sent pictures of them. About: Since a kid I've been surrounded by dogs. I was taught young how to care for and interact with them. About: I have lived with at least 2 dogs in my household for the past 20 years. Providing them with the opportunities to live fulfilling and healthy lives has been my priority. Although I am their caregiver, I consider them also to be my teachers. Learning how to communicate with them is the best way to ensure they are happy and calm, and that they feel safe. I am currently retired and spend quite a bit of time at the dog park. My dog and I are mostly inseparable. I take him with me to run errands when I can. It isn't always practical and so he minds the house when I am away. Barney is my only companion, and, even though I'm kind of a loner, Barney is NOT. He is extremely friendly and social and craves the company of other dog;, that factors into my decision to care for other dogs in my home. Barney will help me keep your dog comfortable and happy while in our care. We have a fenced back yard (4 foot). The surrounding properties have no dogs at this time. If your dog can jump a 4 foot fence, this may not be the safest home for him or her.

Our yard is completely fenced six foot high with no gaps. The dogs will stay outside unless it’s cold or rainy. Inside, I keep a clean (tho covered in fur), dog-friendly space with water always available and hazardous items well out of reach. There are two cats inside so I do need to know if your dog is or isn’t cat friendly. I know dog body language from my years of boarding, so I can spot stress or overstimulation before it becomes an issue. If any pup needs a break, I have quiet spaces set up for alone time. I also require updated vaccines and am comfortable giving oral medications if needed. With two friendly resident dogs, I carefully manage introductions and group play to make sure everyone feels safe and comfortable.

“Maellin was an absolutely wonderful dog sitter; she had excellent communication across the board. Sharing updates and photos of Navi every day. I could tell from the photos that she took such good care of her, Navi was smiling, and really warmed up to Maellin, which she doesn’t do with everyone. It was over the 4th, and Navi was quite nervous about the fireworks. Maellin took every measure to ensure her greatest ease and comfort, bringing her into their bedroom and turning on some background noise to help drown it out. Maellin is also a wonderfully sweet human; she will 100% be my first choice anytime we need care for Navi.”
“Apollo can be a handful with his anxiety and reactivity, and Bri handled it beautifully. They had a rocky first night, because he kept barking at every small noise. After several hours of this, he had her a bit worried about whether or not she could get him to settle down and sleep. But she stuck with it and got him to calm down and pass out. From there the visit went great. She followed our feeding and medication instructions exactly, worked on some training with him during his stay, and did a nice job with redirecting his attention when he got reactive on walks. Communication was excellent throughout. I received regular photos and updates, and she flagged any concerns as they came up rather than letting them sit. The best sign of how the weekend went: at pickup, Apollo planted himself on and between her feet multiple times while we were talking about how the weekend went. He clearly trusts and adores her, which can be difficult given his anxiety. We'll absolutely be booking with her again!”
