“We left our puppy with Rebecca for a little over four weeks. We were anxious about leaving her, since she is so young and it was going to be for so long. But she was very happy with Rebecca, her dog, and the other dogs she cares for. Rebecca has a nice courtyard with lots of things for the dogs to do, and they had plenty of ways to cool off in the summer (shaded doggie platforms, pools, etc). Rebecca sent us photos regularly, and kept us informed on how Suki was doing, which was very comforting. We were so happy to know Suki was having her own fun vacation! It is obvious that Rebecca loves animals, she gives them so much attention and love.”

About: I volunteer at Animal Humane as a dog walker at their main campus weekly. I’ve always been an animal lover and I think my coworkers notice because I dog-sit for them whenever they are out of town. I’ve dog-sat 4 dogs at a time and loved it very much. About: I’ve always had a variety of pets in my house. Growing up my family cared for dogs, turtles, fish, hamsters, frogs, hermit crabs, and chickens. We never owned a cat because my mom is allergic to them but since I moved in with my auntie during university, I have lived with one and have loved it! With my grandma, we currently have 6 dogs! We had two (a chihuahua mixed with poodle and another mixed dog) who are the parents of the other four. I was the only one in my house present when my doggy gave birth to all her babies and I was more than excited to be there with her :) I’m a full-time university student at NMSU. Since I will be on break I also plan to be available nights and weekends. My dogs are family dogs and live outside. I don’t have a house of my own but live with my grandma and mom along with my three siblings and one cousin. The dogs are cared for amongst all family members.

“Shell and her family took in my persnickety old pooch with open arms. Our Meet and Greet went well and I felt confident in her professionalism. My feelings were spot on, as I received text updates and photos of him enjoying the good life at Shells. When we arrived to pick him up, he was so busy being part of the family he almost didn't recognize us! That was a great sign and made me know he was in top shape. He came home happy and well rested. He never showed the least bit of stress that is always displayed after boarding episodes at kennels - no matter how attentive or nice they were. Her house and yard are beautiful, clean, tranquil and inviting; it's a wonderful HOME. A safe environment for "sensitive" dogs. I've already told everyone I know with a dog about Dog VaCay and Shell, and what a great concept and home we found in both.”
