The second most important thing I look for is someone who is professional and good at communication: Devon also checks these boxes! My more timid dog normally barks at new people but not with Devon! On some visits there were some small obstacles with my more timid dog but Devon did not get discouraged, was very communicative with me about what was happening, super patient with my dog and great at problem solving with me. About: My 10 year old and I love it when your babies enjoy a swim in the lake in the summer and/or a walk around the lake with us. Rest assured your fur babies will be happy and healthy while you are away. Our standard poodle is my daughter’s best girl. We go for walks at least once per day around the lake (1.6 miles around). Sometimes we even go more than once and we all get a good workout in! We usually care for dogs here at home, however, I am open to caring for your fur babies at your house, if you prefer! “We brought our 11 week old German Shepard home the day before Thanksgiving so being able to spend a full 5 days with him was good before we had to get into the rhythm of a full blown work week. Crate training a puppy is HEARTBREAKING! I had someone come and let him out 2x a day for the first couple of days. On the third day my walker couldn't make it in the afternoon so I went home for lunch to walk him. When I put him back in the crate it just broke my heart hearing him cry and howl. Upon returning to work I immediately researched doggie day care in my area and stumbled across Morgan's ad on Rover. I have to say she has been a savior. I dropped Thayer off for his 3rd day this morning with Morgan and I have complete piece of mind he is being well taken care of. About: I have had dogs and cats all my life. I always have 2-3 dogs at the same time. I have potty trained, house trained and taken care of friends and families pets for years. I do work full time from 9-5. I am always home in the evenings and on weekends. I have cameras in the home so I can check in on the animals all day. We have a big yard with the invisible fence. Walking and taking care of pets! As a pet sitter and dog walker, nothing brings me more joy than ensuring the safety and happiness of those furry friends. Whether it's in their homes or out on walks, I try my best to give the most care possible. Before any home visit, I'll make sure to ask the owners all about their pets' routines, feeding schedules, and exercise needs, so I can make sure I can accommodate them to the best of my ability. And when we're out for a walk, I will keep them safe and secure on their leash. But you know what's the best part? Building that trust and relationship with the pets and their owners. That's why I'm all about the updates and photos - keeping everyone in the loop and informed about all the fun we're having together. And when it comes to respecting the owners' homes and privacy, you know I got that covered too. So, let's do this! I'm ready to provide the best pet care, and have a blast while doing it!
About: My love for animals began at a very young age. At the young age of 3, I began riding horses and competing, under the training of my mom. Horses were my entire life and I learned all that I could at a young age. I was handling these 1200+ pound animals by myself and doing all I could with them! In 2016, we moved to a farm where we were able to keep our horses and it also had a dog kennel which was always filled with dogs. From then I started watching how things were run and I got to help handle many different breeds and sizes. As I got older I started to do more for the kennel and got to watch/help administer medication to the older pups. Every morning, before school and before bed, I would go down to the kennel and check on the dogs, refill waters, and give treats! We also had goats, sheep, alpacas, cows, peacocks, chickens, ducks, pigs, and so much more on the farm. I was able to help raise babies and care for all of the animals. It was so amazing to work with all these different animals for years and learn all I could about them! I would go out every morning before school and after school to move the animals from the barn to their paddocks outside. It was my favorite way to start the day. In September 2019, My mom brought home two 8 week old puppies Cinnamon & Pumpkin. They are Toy Australian Shepherds, who are extremely energetic and very strong considering they are small. I started walking them 3 times a day and loved it. Not only was it great exercise for both of us, but I noticed such a difference in their demeanor. From then on, I wanted to do all I could with dogs. In 2020, I started helping a close friend of mine, Alexis, who owns a pet care business (Alexis’s Home Pet Care). I would go on walks with her daily and help as much as possible. She taught me so much about the dog walking side of the business because as we know, it’s not always as easy as it seems. I helped work with the easier dogs and then the reactive dogs as well. Dogs are all different and they all can be triggered by different things, whether it be other dogs passing by, humans, etc. For almost two years, I did all I could to learn everything possible with a great mentor behind me. In March 2022, I felt ready to venture off on my own and I began Devon’s Pet Care. I started with just very few walks a week, and then started to really learn more and started caring for pets overnight. It’s such an amazing feeling to be able to grow with these fur babies. Eventually, my business took off and I felt so happy and accomplished because this was my dream job. I have had the opportunity to work with some very amazing pets and I even have had the chance to have some human-aggressive dogs trust me. Although I have my business, I still work with Alexis, and as she got more into boarding, I am able to help her when she needs it. She is always there to give me advice when needed, as well I am even able to give her advice now. In May of 2023, I looked more into pet boarding and I ended up being able to set up a great kennel-free environment for dogs. It seemed people wanted to stop using “kennel facilities” as the dogs don’t get out as much as they are typically used to. I am so lucky to get the chance to care for amazing dogs and work with some amazing families to make sure their fur babies get the correct care. I now have 30 horses and compete nationally with them as well as being able to raise foals. I helped my mom raise over 10 foals this past season and some were bottle-fed to help get a little start prior to them figuring out how to nurse. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my new puppy, Gemma as well as riding my my horses and spending time with them. I also recently joined my local fire department as a volunteer firefighter. I love being able to help the community! This journey has been amazing, and I am so excited for the future in this field! I do this full time, so your pups will always have the attention they deserve when you are unable to be there for them. I take pride in the care I offer to all pets! Dogs who don’t have a fenced yard will go for at least 3 walks per day with overnight stays, dogs who have a fenced yard will go for at least 1 walk a day during an overnight stay, or drop in visits. Our boarding dogs participate in our doggy day care program, and all dogs will be grouped according to size, for safety!
About: I've had dogs my whole life, so caring for animals has always been a natural part of who I am. I understand that every dog has their own personality, routines, and comfort needs, and I make sure to treat each one like my own. What sets me apart is the patience and attention I give-whether that means extra playtime, slow walks for the older pups, or just being present for snuggles and reassurance. I pay attention to the small things: their favorite toys, how they like to be greeted, and what makes them feel safe. My goal is to always make sure your dog feels loved, comfortable, and understood. I am a college student looking for some extra money, I am available all week day morning and evenings, as well as weekends. Very flexible!! I am pet CPR + First Aid certified! I make sure all dogs feel safe, loved, and comfortable. All dogs have their own personality so instead of them feeling the need to adjust I adjust to their needs.
About: I have taken care of dogs and cats my entire life of all sizes. I have owned numerous dogs and have also watched many dogs for friends and family,including at people's houses. I welcome all breeds and I have never met a dog I didn't love. I have a relatively flexible schedule and have reliable transportation. My current job is M-F from 7:30-4 but I am available on weekends and holidays . If there is anything you would like to ask before or curious about I would be more than happy to speak on the phone or meet you and your pets before you schedule any service with me. My goal is to make sure your pets needs are taken care of and that you and our furry friends are happy as can be.I work with all breeds including Pitbulls and Shepherds. I can give all medications and adhere to any nutritional regimen. I live a very active lifestyle including daily fitness and exercise, also hiking and running or whatever your dog needs to stay healthy.If your pet has any nutritional needs or diet related needs, I would be more than happy to accommodate. I work Monday-Friday from 7:30-4 but I am available and flexible to work with any busy schedule. I try to stay relatively local but will travel if need be to surrounding towns in the Northern New Jersey area I have much experience staying at clients homes. My philosophy is leave it the way you found it or even better than it was. I give personal attention to each individual pet and will accommodate most requests when it comes to a pets needs
