About: I've had large dogs my entire life, including a special needs dog and police-trained K9 dogs. I have owned and operated a farm hotel in Brazil for the past 5 years, where I was the primary responsible for all daily care, injections, medical treatments and behavioral work with the animals (5 large dogs and multiple farm animals), so am very comfortable administering any special care your animal may need. I have also rescued & fostered nearly a dozen dogs from the street and helped them find forever homes. I love all animals and understand each one is different with unique personalities. The pics on my profile are from my farm. I work from home which allows me to always be present to keep your pet company, and love taking small cuddle, walk and play breaks throughout the day to break up my desk routine. Having extra dogs is the perfect excuse to stretch my legs! I live alone in a spacious apartment downtown Portsmouth where I can board up to 2 large dogs or 3 small dogs at a time. I am only a 5min walk from the Mill Pond dog park and can take your dog for several walks throughout the day. I can also crate your dog if they prefer it. “Benji had a great time staying with Nicholas and his family. I know this because Nicholas sent me lots of pictures and I was able to see that Benji was very chill, enjoying tummy rubs, getting along well with Nicholas' other 3 dogs and finding his place to relax right under their desk (just like he does at home). Benji has a sensitive stomach and often doesn't eat for the first couple of days. When his appetite did pick up, Nicholas was careful to make sure that Benji ate only his special food and that kept his GI track working properly! On the day of our return, our pickup time had to be delayed because of a flight change, but this was not a problem at all for Nicholas. We will definitely reach out to Nicholas the next time that we have need for a pet sitter.”

When I picked up Coco she was happy to see me, having been away from me for 8 days, as she has separation anxiety, and was not stressed at all. When Coco and I were leaving, Robert said wait and kissed Coco goodbye !! :) As a pet owner nothing feels better than knowing your pets is in loving hands. About: I’ve been caring for dogs and cats my entire life, with most of my pets coming from shelters and rescues. This experience has given me a strong appreciation for different temperaments, routines, and comfort levels. Currently, I live with my partner Caley (also on Rover!) and an 8 year old domestic shorthair cat named Barnett. We reside in walking distance of North Beach in Hampton. We've only had Luna for 4 months (rescue) and she is incredibly timid and loud around strangers in the house. We were worried going into the weekend that we might even have to cancel our trip because Luna has been unmanageable by just about everyone we've tried to get to walk her. And even with us, on walks she is easily distracted and will try to chase everything from squirrels to grasshoppers. It can be a challenge for non-family to even get close enough to get a leash on her. Laurie was so kind and patient with Luna, and spent so much time with her to gain her trust. She proved fully capable of leashing Luna and bringing her on long walks. We will definitely be booking Laurie again! (provided she would be willing!)”

She even cleaned up a few messes they created which was above and beyond her responsibilities! Most importantly, she gave my diabetic cat her insulin shot twice a day. She really helped me enjoy my vacation because I didn't worry about them being in her care. I will be entrusting her to sit for them again going forward.”

“Gavin took care of my six year old orange tabby for approximately two weeks. This was my first experience with Rover. In fact, when I first registered with Rover and started searching for house sitters with availability, I contacted Gavin in error. (Technology is not my strong suit). Gavin was gracious and kind in responding to my newbie error. When I intentionally reached out to him to see if he was interested in setting up a meet and greet, he responded in a timely manner, as he did with all of our communications. About: Without exception, the dog park is always one of the best parts of my day. I've had three dogs of my own, and have been around countless other dogs, most of whom instantly become my new best friends. We just gravitate to each other, hence the fuzzy friend whisperer nickname. I have a playful, loving attitude toward every dog I meet. I am also sensitive to dogs who need a little more patience and space to ease into trusting me and respect the boundaries that they need to do that. My training style with my own dogs is focused on positive reinforcement rather than punishment. This approach translates to other dogs as well, unless their owners request differently. Your dog will be in caring, responsible hands with me. They will be loved. Vogel Emergency Vet just opened right across the street from our house, so if anything kind of emergency pops up, your baby will be a hop, skip and a jump away from the care they need. I'm self employed and work mostly from home so my schedule is quite flexible. Sometimes I’ll have drop in visits throughout the day, but if your dog is boarding with me, there will generally be someone else at home with them. They’ll rarely, if ever be left alone. I live on a small farm but also live near a road, so your dog will always be safely on a leash when we go outside for potty breaks. I have a very friendly 12 year old 45lb labradoodle named Huck to keep your baby company in the rare cases that I'm not at home. I have a "squirrel observatory" (bird feeder) right near my workspace so your dog will not only be supervised most of the time but also entertained.

About: For pretty much most of my entire life I’ve had a dog. I gave them all the love I had and they did the same right back at me. Currently we own a beautiful 4yr old Golden named Sammy. He is gentile playful loving and silly. When a dog walks into our home it takes about 30 seconds and just like that Sammys got a new best friend. My business is in insurance sales which has me doing most of my work from home. This allows me to take great care of my dog Sammy and any of his friends. We’ve got a spacious open concept home with a big grassy fenced in back yard for lots of play time. We can also easily crate your dog if needed. About: I have recently lost my 14.5 year old husky who enjoyed walks every day and all the Rover dogs that stayed with us in the past with Rover boarding. I have recently added service to stay in the pet owners home as well. I love the responsibility of caring for, feeding, cleaning up after and watching dogs socialize and simply enjoy life. One of the most memorable experiences of my childhood is when our golden retriever had 11 puppies. When they were several weeks old, my Mom agreed to bring in one or two for show and tell to my fourth grade class. She couldn't decide which ones to bring and much to my surprise (as well as my classmates), she brought in all 11! I'd love to care for your pet! I work full time during the week primarily remotely. About: I’ve taken care of all kinds of pets since I was a kid. I started dog walking and pet sitting during the summers in college and am looking to continue caring for your precious pets as I start a new career as a teacher. I adopted my dog less than two weeks ago and - still getting to know her - had a trip planned and needed to board her for 5 days. I was hoping for someone to treat my dog like their own and Shana and Dylan did just that. In fact, they went above and beyond what I could’ve hoped for - letting her snuggle with them at night, sending me frequent updates and pup pics, going out of their way to pick up beef and rice and cook it for my girl when her stool was soft, and packing the rest to go when I picked her up. Their dog Cleo is a sweetheart, and joined in on the doggy snuggles. I know if I ever need a sitter again I’ll be reaching out to Shana.”

About: I've had large dogs my entire life, including a special needs dog and police-trained K9 dogs. I have owned and operated a farm hotel in Brazil for the past 5 years, where I was the primary responsible for all daily care, injections, medical treatments and behavioral work with the animals (5 large dogs and multiple farm animals), so am very comfortable administering any special care your animal may need. I have also rescued & fostered nearly a dozen dogs from the street and helped them find forever homes. I love all animals and understand each one is different with unique personalities. The pics on my profile are from my farm. I work from home which allows me to always be present to keep your pet company, and love taking small cuddle, walk and play breaks throughout the day to break up my desk routine. Having extra dogs is the perfect excuse to stretch my legs! I live alone in a spacious apartment downtown Portsmouth where I can board up to 2 large dogs or 3 small dogs at a time. I am only a 5min walk from the Mill Pond dog park and can take your dog for several walks throughout the day. I can also crate your dog if they prefer it. I can administer medication and provide any special treatment necessary. I treat all pets as my own, like members of my family.

“Benji had a great time staying with Nicholas and his family. I know this because Nicholas sent me lots of pictures and I was able to see that Benji was very chill, enjoying tummy rubs, getting along well with Nicholas' other 3 dogs and finding his place to relax right under their desk (just like he does at home). Benji has a sensitive stomach and often doesn't eat for the first couple of days. When his appetite did pick up, Nicholas was careful to make sure that Benji ate only his special food and that kept his GI track working properly! On the day of our return, our pickup time had to be delayed because of a flight change, but this was not a problem at all for Nicholas. We will definitely reach out to Nicholas the next time that we have need for a pet sitter.”

“Kris is fabulous! We went away for 10 days and we were so worried about leaving our dog. Kris had us do a meet and greet in advance, and we knew immediately that she would take great care of our dog. She communicated with us every day while we were away with updates on how she was doing. She always responded right away to texts, and she sent plenty of pictures and videos. We ended up missing our flight home and needed Kris to keep our dog an additional day, and she was super accommodating. Understanding of special needs for anxiety/separation issues was not only able to accommodate my last minute request for day care, but fit in a meet and greet a day ahead to help Luna get comfortable with her and go over any needs. She went the extra mile staying late when I hit delays with work meetings and traffic, and was great with respecting limits and engaging Luna on her level for her intro sit, and reading dog behavior. I am picky about who I entrust my dog with, and I felt immediately comfortable with Cecilia on first meet. She demonstrated her care and professionalism from the start ~ asking the right pre-sit questions, clearly communicating, and providing regular updates while I was away. Really helped ease my mind and allow me to focus on the work I needed to do. I hope to continue with her as a regular sitter for Luna when we need someone!”
