About: I have had, rescued, and taken care of a wide variety of dogs from smaller malti-poos to a Dane who had been living on the street, was skin and bones, and ended up 188 lbs. Currently I have Pippa, a 7-year-old Labrador who is allergic to chicken, so I make part of her food. I am home most of the time, except when I host overly-complex board games at the Hickory Library or the Highland Rec Center -- and those sessions are at most 3 hours long. I am home most days, except when I am hosting 3-hour board games at the local library and rec center. Otherwise, I take care of our house and rental properties. I offer pet care on the side as my schedule allows, and my goal is always to accommodate what your pet is used to. For house sitting, my standard rate covers overnight care with normal daytime absences. I stay overnight and am out during the day, with potty breaks as indicated, plus meals and playtime. Some pets need more than that. Puppies, seniors, pets on medication, and dogs with separation anxiety often do best with someone home nearly full time. About: Pets have always been a part of my life. I was raised with multiple cats and dogs, and from an early age developed a strong love and knowledge of caring for animals. I currently have two dogs and a cat, and have applied for this position because I truly understand the struggle of having to leave and find someone trustworthy to care for them while I am away.
