I found myself in a tough situation where I needed a very last minute dog sitter for my less than two-week old rescue pup, Lilah, who was also on meds at the time. As a new dog owner + an owner of a dog I didn't know that well, I was obviously very nervous to be leaving her. Upon arriving to her house, I could see that Theresa and her family would provide the highest care for Lilah and make her one of their own for the weekend—that they did and I'm pretty sure Lilah had the time of her life. Lilah has severe separation anxiety, EXTREMELY high energy as a young pit/boxer mix, and is still working on her dog socialization skills, but they were absolutely fantastic in working with all of her quirks and needs throughout the weekend. They also have an amazing, massive fenced in backyard that was perfect for her energy needs, and it was great that she got in some socialization with their sweet dogs. Their patience, attention, and care with Lilah left her a better pup then when I dropped her off. If you're anywhere near the OBX, Theresa is definitely the way to go.”

About: 40+ years’ experience caring for and loving dogs of all ages. I’m comfortable with puppies, senior dogs and even those in their prime with plenty of energy. I am experienced with administering medicine if needed and caring for those with special needs. My husband and I have always had our own fur babies (toy and standard poodles), but do not have any currently. Can host only NON-SHEDDING BREEDS, due to family allergies. Must be house broken/trained (to potty outside), with the exception of puppies. I am retired, so I’m always here to give extra cuddles, potty breaks, play time and walks. I really love their company! Tell me their routine while at home with you and I will do my best to ensure it stays the same when in my care. We have a large fenced yard with shade in a small and quiet subdivision. Our home is two story so plenty of room for playing and naps. If they do not care stairs, I will ensure stay on the main floor. Our neighborhood is perfect for walks. I have crates if they are crate trained and you prefer that, but that is not necessary unless that is your preference. Being on the furniture or bed in our home is fine with me too. I give extra special attention if they are nervous for any reason such as thunderstorms, loud noises (such as fireworks on a holiday). I am very attentive and adapt to small things such as if they just don't like going out in the rain. I always send daily updates including photos, videos & text throughout their stay.

“BOOCHI’S FIRST DAY AT DAYCARE 🐶 All I can say is WOW... I couldn’t have asked for a better dog sitter than Monti! When it comes to loving on your fur baby & making them feel at home away from home, Monti is an absolute ANGEL!!! When we first met for our meet and greet last week, it was abundantly clear that Monti and her husband truly love and understand dogs. At first, I was hesitant to book my pup, Boochi, for his first day at daycare because he tends to be a bit picky and kinda anxious sometimes, but Monti and her hubby made him feel completely at home right away – it was like Boochi was part of their family! ❤️ Yesterday was Boochi’s first day at daycare, and he was initially a little nervous when I dropped him off… he wasn't sure whether to follow me or stay with Monti. Fortunately, Monti is a PRO with dogs, and she was SO on top of his care plan – you can tell that she honestly loves and cares about the dogs she watches. From bringing out an entire room full of toys to streaming Boochi's fave comfort cartoon, Monti went MUCH further than the extra mile to make sure that he was comfortable and content… and did I mention how well-fed Boochi was? Not only did she make him his fave lunch, but she even sent him home with cheerios and some leftover chicken with broth! Throughout the day, Monti sent me adorable photos and videos, as well as regular updates with cute little stories about Boochi’s first day at daycare – which really put my mind at ease while I was away… it was clear that Boochi was bonding with Monti, having an awesome time, and getting LOTS of love, attention, and “sugars” (aka kisses). Later, when I arrived for pick-up, Boochi almost didn’t want to leave… he was happy, totally relaxed, and sorta tired from his fun, eventful day – which is always a good sign! In fact, Boochi barely ran over to me because he had become SO comfortable with Monti! Ultimately, Boochi’s first day at daycare couldn’t have gone better! I’m SO glad we found Monti and her husband, and we will definitely be booking again ASAP… it’s such a relief to know that we’ve finally found someone that we can trust with our baby boy! I have wiener dogs who are very social so it includes a socializing experience. I am experienced with deaf/ blind doggos and doggos with insulin shots. I enjoy playing and getting to know your dog, dogs have different personalities and different interests. If your dog is a couch potato we have Netflix, if your dog enjoys long walks on the beach we have a near by park that we walk to, and for those who are more timid and scared we have plenty of places to cover up and burrow in.
“This review comes a bit late, I apologize for not writing it sooner as I intended. I did want to make sure that pet owners that are in need of a dog sitter, to please consider Sabrina. We live in Maryland and we had to go to Virginia for a conference. We also wanted to take our pups with us so we didn't have to leave them back home. We decided to use Rover and this was our 1st time. I came across Sabrina's profile, read her reviews and had a peace about hiring her. We booked her back in mid July for mid September dates. Over the next few weeks, we kept referring to our pups as little ranch hands :-) . On the day of meeting, we were greeted by Sabrina's assistant Lauren and our dogs fell in love right away. They communicated throughout the 2 days, sent pictures whether they were securing the grounds, sniffing the animals or napping after a hard day. They were well taken care of. PS: I know my photos dont look the best whoever I am working on it and you will receive many updates on your pets day I am a college student so my schedule is very flexible and allows me all the time in the world to love your pets. I am available Monday-Sunday starting at 10am til whenever I am needed I will follow whatever schedule you give to the letter. The average day would be breakfast in morning with a 30 min to an 1hr walk to give them all the time to digest and get that energy out. In the afternoon I will either play with them outside or go on another walk. In the evening is dinner and another walk or playtime so they can take that well deserved nap. In between those walks I will always be near and doting on your pet (unless they show discomfort) and making sure they get there potty breaks and water is filled. I couldn't imagine treating your pet anyless than my own.

I do need a few hours a day to spend doing my school work, which won’t affect drop ins or walks, but if I’m house sitting I would do this work from your home (: I understand that every dog is different so I am very flexible on what kind of care you need for your pet. If you want a stroller walk for senior pets or a run for an active dog or if you simply just want me to play fetch in the house. You know what your babies need the best!
“She was incredible with both my labs. Very responsive. Sent updates of them playing. I felt totally comfortable with them in her care. She even exercised them on a treadmill on a rainy day. I would recommend her to anyone looking for dog care in the area.”
“I cannot say enough good things about Theresa and her family. The next time I am anywhere near the OBX, I will definitely be going back to Theresa. I found myself in a tough situation where I needed a very last minute dog sitter for my less than two-week old rescue pup, Lilah, who was also on meds at the time. As a new dog owner + an owner of a dog I didn't know that well, I was obviously very nervous to be leaving her. Upon arriving to her house, I could see that Theresa and her family would provide the highest care for Lilah and make her one of their own for the weekend—that they did and I'm pretty sure Lilah had the time of her life. Lilah has severe separation anxiety, EXTREMELY high energy as a young pit/boxer mix, and is still working on her dog socialization skills, but they were absolutely fantastic in working with all of her quirks and needs throughout the weekend. They also have an amazing, massive fenced in backyard that was perfect for her energy needs, and it was great that she got in some socialization with their sweet dogs. Their patience, attention, and care with Lilah left her a better pup then when I dropped her off. If you're anywhere near the OBX, Theresa is definitely the way to go.”
“Copper had a great time with Taylor and her animal family! He was zonked right after we got home from having so much fun! She sent me plenty of pictures and videos while I was away of Copper to ensure me he was loving it!! Would definitely recommend.”
