Personalized care for your dog or cat - Spruce Pine

Highly-rated overnight sitters - Spruce Pine
“Toni is fantastic. She went over and above to make sure that our senior dog had the best care - giving her meds and lots of extra snuggles. She provided lots of updates and photos throughout our time away. We highly recommend Toni!”
“Samuel and Erica were great! I got lots of pictures and feedback. Samuel and Erica have Lana well trained as others have stated, and it’s evident. Moose settled in with them pretty quickly. Moose is small and didn’t want to play. They both learned to peacefully co-exist just as Samuel and Erica have experienced with other small pups. I highly recommend them!”

“Jessica and John were fantastic! Not only did they make my pup a part of their family and take her on adventures but we're also very understanding when there was a last minute change in plans. Highly recommend and will definitely use them again!”

“Chris was great. He was very communicative and helpful with a last minute booking. He came for a meet and great and was very communicative and sent lots of photos. Penny had a blast! Would definitely book with him again”

“Sabrina is great. A great communicator and very understanding about my little Jada who is a bit anti social. She took perfect care and we would love to have her look after Jada again.”

“Porkchop thoroughly enjoyed ringing in the new year with Heather and Louis. Heather is very responsive and good about sending updates and photos. The drop-off upon my return was a godsend. Louis was a great new partner in muddy crime for Porkchop to get his energy out and his appetite up (sometimes not an easy task when I am away). Will definitely book again.”

“I booked this boarding stay last-minute, after our initial pet care plan fell through, but it really couldn’t have worked out better! Valentine and her family were so great with my pup, Rocky. They kept her safe and busy while my husband and I participated in a friend’s wedding festivities. I felt confident leaving Rocky with Valentine, and I would definitely book again if ever back in the area. She’s caring and knows what she’s doing with animals, for sure.”

About: I’ve been around animals my whole life! I’ve done everything from fostering to raising litters of puppies and kittens. I’m an active person so there is no shortage of playtime. I’m very dedicated to providing the love and support pets need! Caring for pets is always a priority of mine as I currently own a dog and cat myself. I work part time so my schedule is very flexible. I have a spare bedroom in my house with a large mattress for pets to rest on. There is space for a crate if needed. My backyard is very spacious. My area is fairly quiet as I live outside the city. I also have a very friendly dog and cat so your pets can have new friends (can be separated if needed).

“Olivia took such great care of my girl! She made everything super easy and convenient for us. She was attentive to all of Benelli’s needs and she even sent regular updates so that I knew how she was doing. I would absolutely recommend her services!!”

About: I’ve always been an animal lover, from horses to reptiles! I’ve had dogs and cats my whole life, and some of the others throughout. We recently lost our dog to cancer at just shy of 13 years old, and I’m currently volunteering as a dog walker at the animal shelter to help fill that void. With the limited hours available there, I thought we could try this avenue as well. I work full time, but my daughter and I would love to find a dog to walk Wednesday through Friday evenings, or weekends! We are available some weekends for dog/cat care while you’re away as well. We love walking dogs, playing fetch, petting them, and providing lots of love. We enjoy playing with cat toys, and giving them plenty of attention as well.

“Willow loved her stay with Daniella. We will definitely use her again. She sent pictures that made me feel we didn’t need to worry about Willow while we were gone. A real relief about having to leave her.”

“Communicated very well with us about some issues with our girl growling over toys with her dogs. Was very flexible and helpful with making it easier on us with transporting her on drop-off and pick up which was much appreciated.”

“I’m so grateful to Jaqueline and Sammy for watching my dog, Banks. They sent tons of pictures and videos, making me feel at ease while he was in their care. They took him on great walking adventures and were incredibly detail-oriented with his needs. They were also so understanding of his separation anxiety, which made him feel comfortable and safe. Banks absolutely adores them. I’m beyond thankful for their kindness and care, and I’ll definitely be rebooking with them in the future!”

“Elizabeth was amazing with Tex! I got daily updates and Tex seemed to really enjoy himself at their home. Communication was very easy from a meet and greet beforehand, to drop off, updated throughout his stay, and pick up. I highly recommend Elizabeth if you need a stress free place for your pet to stay while you’re away!”

“I highly recommend Chelsea as a dog sitter! She took amazing care of my pups, keeping them happy, safe, and well-loved while I was away. Chelsea is reliable, friendly, and kept my mind as ease. I’ll definitely be booking her again!”

“Claire was amazing with my boy! He was well taken care of and super tired when I came to pick him up! He seemed like his super excited self and hated to say goodbye!! Thank you Claire for taking care of my sweet boy! I will definitely be using her again in the future!!”

I've looked after pets for friends and family for years and have two beloved cats of my own. I've also volunteered at nature centers and helped care for farm animals, giving me a unique background in both domestic and wild animal care. Whether your pet is playful, shy, or needs extra TLC, I bring patience, responsibility, and genuine love to every visit. I work full time, so mornings before 8 am, evenings after 4pm and weekends work best for me! Within those hours, my schedule is flexible, so I’m available for daily drop-ins, walks, or extended stays. I have a comfortable home with plenty of comfy spaces for them to relax in as well.

“Summer leaves the house in perfect condition. She spend time with my cats so they are well socialized when I get back and treat me like I'd never left. She takes care of plants and even organized the cat food drawer. You could not get a better cat/house sitter.”

“Dawn is such a good pet sitter. Our cats are normally very reclusive around new people, but took to her immediately. We couldn’t recommend her more and will absolutely use her in the future.”

“Andrea is truly a gem. While we were away on vacation, she stepped in to care for our beloved cats, Scooter and Miss Girl, and her dedication went far beyond our expectations. It was almost as if I were home myself her attention to detail, warmth, and understanding of their personalities mirrored the way I care for them every day. Andrea didn’t just check in she connected with them. She made sure Scooter felt safe and soothed, and gave Miss Girl the affection and routine she thrives on. I came home to two happy, relaxed cats who clearly felt loved and secure in my absence. Andrea’s care was thoughtful, intuitive, and deeply personal. As long as she’s offering her services, I will choose her every single time. She’s that good and my cats agree.”

“Megan and Josh were absolutely amazing house sitters! They took the best care of my girl Khloe, sent me daily photo updates, and left the house way cleaner than it was before. Highly, highly recommend!”

About: I have had many different animals my entire life including cats, ferrets, chinchillas, chickens, ducks, hamsters, rabbits… In my 20’s I founded “Not Just Pets, Professional Pet Care”. In my 30’s I founded “Equine Specialist, Care and Training”. I had horses for over 30 years. I trained, showed, pleasure road, belonged to 3 horse clubs and eventually started my own 4-H club. I have bred and trained Boston Terriers and German Shepherds. Currently, I have 4 dogs that I rescued from a SC kill shelter. I have worked with Aly from Coal Mountain and Karen from Arcadia Animal Rescue’s. Both have been amazed by how well adjusted the four dogs have become considering how terrified they were in which no one else would take a chance on. Animals are my passion and greatest friends! I am currently taking an online course to become a Certified Canine Massage Therapist. I work for myself taking care of Seniors and animals. Relocated 04.07.2025 from Maine. I make my own schedule and am flexible to care for your furry family! Every situation can be different. Meeting with the client and their animals is important. I like to know about any vices, medications, vet info, where supplies are at, etc. Taking notes and leaving daily notes for each client keeps communication open and I find is appreciated.

About: Until 6 years ago I've ALWAYS had a kitty of my own since I was 13. Usually just one sometimes 2 or 3 and the one time 2 adults and 5 babies. My absolute favorite is male tabbys especially the big body ones lol. Just something about those chunky orange kitties I can't resist.
“Anne was amazing with our nervous 1 year old GSP puppy. She was patient and got him to relax and took him on a great walk! Thank you so much Anne!! ☺️ We will definitely have her look after him again in the future🩷”

“Seriph, was very understanding about some last minute changes with the kitties. I came home to a very clean house and the kitties were happy to see us. I appreciate her flexibility. And it was nice to have someone at the house while I was out of the country.”

“Jade was amazing with my kitty, Sylvia! She’s a typical orange cat with all the classic orange-cat energy, and Jade handled her so well. Jade even came by the day before my trip to get familiar with everything and to meet my puppy, Sadie, which I really appreciated. Sadie went to daycare while I was away, but after meeting Jade, I would have zero hesitation leaving her in Jade’s care, too. It’s such a relief to have a reliable, trustworthy cat sitter and dog walker nearby. Highly recommend!”

About: I’ve loved and cared for cats my entire life and genuinely enjoy getting to know each pet’s personality and routine. Friends, neighbors, and family have trusted me to feed, play with, check in on, and comfort their cats while away. I’m calm, dependable, attentive, and especially good with shy or sensitive cats who need patience and a gentle presence.
About: I have volunteered at an animal rescue sanctuary for 10+ years. As a caretaker my duties at the sanctuary require demanding physical labor, housekeeping, and responsibilities of supervision over animals and other volunteers. We had over 100+ different types of animals and always have been around dogs and cats! They are my joy! I work 2 full time jobs but I have mornings, evenings and weekends open! I am looking for something that will fit into that kind of schedule. I have no animals at home. It is safe and a very clean environment. I am the most respectful and will aways listen to what you and your pets need.
About: My family have always owned at least 4 dogs at a time and growing up it was our responsibility as kids to care for them. We would brush them, walk them, feed them, and bath them. I work fully remote and am willing to travel. I would be able to give full attention to your pets. Since my job is remote, it gives me a lot of flexibility with my schedule. Most of my days are spent behind a monitor working. They will have my attention at all time. They might get tired of me wanting to play with them. I love being around dogs and will make sure your fury friend is well taken care of and happy
About: Hi! I’m Celeste — your dog’s new favorite auntie 🐾 I’m a lifelong animal lover originally from Denver, now living right in downtown Asheville with my 5-year-old “puppy” (yes, she still thinks she’s a baby). We go on daily mountain walks, explore the city, and spend way too much time cuddling — so your dog will fit right into our routine. I’m dependable, nurturing, and super communicative. I’ll treat your fur baby like my own, keep you updated with plenty of photos, and make sure they feel safe, loved, and entertained the whole time. Whether your pup needs hikes, chill couch time, consistent structure, or someone who just gets dog personalities — I’m your girl. Can’t wait to meet your four-legged best friend! 🐶💛 My schedule is super flexible. I’m home most days and can accommodate morning, afternoon, and evening visits. Because I live right in downtown Asheville, I’m able to pop in quickly for walks, check-ins, or longer stays. I’m available weekdays, weekends, and holidays, and I can often take last-minute bookings. If you need consistent care, overnight sitting, or a recurring schedule, I’m happy to make that work too — just send me a message! In My Home: I create a calm, safe, and loving environment. I live in downtown Asheville with my friendly 5-year-old pup, and we follow a steady routine of walks, playtime, and mellow downtime. Visiting pets get the same treatment as my own — constant supervision, lots of affection, fresh water at all times, and a cozy place to relax. I keep my space clean, dog-proofed, and stress-free so every animal feels comfortable and at home. In Their Home: I follow your pet’s normal routine to keep them grounded and secure. I handle feeding, walking, potty schedules, medication (if needed), enrichment, and plenty of snuggles. I’m big on communication, so you’ll get updates and photos as often as you’d like. My goal is to make sure your pet feels safe, loved, and understood while you’re away — no disruption, just comfort.

“Sydney is amazing!! She helped me out with my puppy very last minute. She always came on time and followed instructions perfectly! Even though my dog gave her some difficulty in the beginning she was patient and quickly made him feel very comfortable with her. She always sent photos and updates with each visit. I highly recommend her! We cannot thank you enough!”

About: I have 2 dogs of my own (a mini schnauzer and a cattle dog). I always watch my families pets when they go out of town and they always know they’re in amazing care and are spoiled to the max when gone. They rely on bathing, feeding, walking or letting them out to run in their back yard, clean up accidents, and play with them. I do work full time unless my schedule changes so if it changes and I can always update anyone on that and go earlier if possible. During the week I am available to walk/check in between 7am to 8am before work typically unless my schedule changes and after work would be after 5:30pm unless my schedule changes and I get off earlier and weekends I am completely flexible! I can play with the dogs in your home or your backyard if you have one. Feed and water them if they’re on a schedule. Ensure gates/doors are locked/closed to ensure safety.

“Heather is amazing! I could tell from the very start that she knew a lot about animal behavior and that her dog, Louie, would be a good fit for my Willow. Heather was extremely accommodating, as far as asking if Willow needed any meals, and also with regard to ensuring Willow had her treats over the course of the day. I would absolutely, unequivocally recommend Heather for doggie daycare!”

“Lena did a great job taking care of my pup who had surgery and needed some love while I was gone for long clinical days at the hospital. It gave me peace of mind she was being well taken care of. I will definitely be using Lena again to care for my pups.”
“Jackie and Sammy are great. Loretta loved their backyard and all the walks and cuddles. They truly treated Loretta like she was their own. Would definitely recommend!”

About: I grew up with dogs as family pets and have always considered myself a “dog person.” My family had a sheepdog, a black lab, and a Scottish sheepdog, which helped shape my lifelong love for animals. About 30 years ago, I met my wife, a true cat person through and through, and over time I happily transitioned into becoming a devoted cat lover as well. Over the years, my wife and I have shared life with three cats, even taking them on leash walks around the neighborhood—yes, I am proudly that person now. Bella, my 18-year-old super senior cat, just lost her struggle with kidney disease and we miss her dearly. My wife and I spoil our animals all the time. Our cats have always been like children to us and the bonds we build with our animals over the years have been deeply meaningful. I believe animals teach unconditional love, friendship, and have a beautiful way of offering comfort exactly when it’s needed most. In addition to caring for my own pets, I have spent years looking after neighbors’ chickens, rabbits, dogs, cats, hamsters, and even a rat! After 13 years of teaching English at a nearby Early College, I recently retired from education and am excited to begin this new chapter with Rover. I have always had an entrepreneurial spirit. When I am not caring for animals, I run a professional mountain biking guide service in Asheville called Pisgah Mountain Bike Adventures. With more than 40 years of passion for mountain biking, being outdoors and in the mountains is where I feel most at home. I also run an Airbnb in our finished basement and I am currently writing a memoir. I am excited to be part of the Rover team and I look forward to caring for your dog, cat, or other beloved pet with the same level of attentiveness and heart that I have given to everything in my life. I am all in. I am excited to continue growing with Rover and embrace this new direction in my life with enthusiasm and hope, proving it’s never too late to follow a new calling! I am available 7 days a week for dog walks, overnight care, drop in visits, pet transport and housesitting. I am pet first aide and CPR certified and ready to help care for your fur babies anytime. I will board your dog or cat in my home or yours. I am an outdoor enthusiast, so will provide outdoor enrichment, long walks and various activities like playing fetch in the park or snuggles and extra 1 on 1 time for your pet. As a retired teacher, I bring professional level customer service, reliablity and professional pet care for you and your fur babies. I am very flexible with scheduling. Your pet or house is in good hands, leaving you free to go about your day and not worry about your home or fur babies. Thanks for trusting in menfor your pet and houshold needs.

About: Hi! My name is Jade and I am an avid dog enthusiast and college student. I currently own a 1 year old Australian Shepherd and boy oh boy does he have energy. Before him I had another Aussie (female) who acquired cancer around 7-8years old, because of this I have sadly become very skilled with working with sick/hurting dogs. I also love to train dogs, my current Aussie has a Novice Trick Dog title from AKC and we are working on his intermediate title while learning Conformation skills and Therapy dog skills. I am very patient with the pups and am a big believer in positive reinforcement. My Aussie is registered and I am very good friends with his breeder who is very knowledgeable in this field and is always happy to lend a hand. Currently I have no dogs at home, because I live in Tennessee for college and my Aussie is back with my family in Texas. Thanks for your consideration!! I’m currently a student, so I have a very flexible schedule in which I can take care of animals in your home or mine! I love walking dogs (I live in a safe-gated apartment complex) and chilling on the couch with sweet cats! I have a large apartment, and can take the dogs on long walks to suit their needs. I’m diligent about always feeding and watering animals before myself and am fully committed to the wellbeing of the fur babies in my care!
About: Have had pets my entire life, bred multiple reptiles in the past, have had several dogs over the years, exotics, still have a 23 year old african grey who is my middle child who won't leave the nest, spent a decade volunteering at a no-kill shelter, multiple animal rescues, have worked in multiple veterinary offices, been vegetarian since 1997, worked as a vegan chef in several restaurants, and still love to cook for potlucks, friends and fun! I'm currently just working a few days a week in a restaurant, no other commitments. Plus it's the longest I've ever been without companion animal of my own, so I have extra time and love to give at the moment. Will follow the owners instructions to the tee, and more often than not spend additional time when possible. I'm currently without pets of my own which is rare for me, so I have an ample amount of attention and care to spare!
About: Animals just relax around me. I’ve worked with many pet owners who are apprehensive to leave their pets with anyone due to the pet’s nervous temperaments, and other various quirks, and every single time the animals have surprised their owners by completely settling in with me. I prioritize play, love, and connecting with each individual pet I watch however they specifically need. I’ve looked after animals of all breeds, ages, & temperaments- from anxious & fussy older pets to energetic young puppies. I have experience administering medications to sick animals, hand feeding injured puppies, walking several pets at once, and managing dogs & cats that are a bit wild. I’ve even cared for lizards, turtles, fish, plants (haha), hamsters, birds, & rabbits. Whatever their needs, I will make sure they feel safe, loved, & at home while they’re with me. I am a potter who works from my home studio, and I make my own schedule- so I can generally be flexible and accommodate your pets needs. I love having pets in my home, and breaking away from my studio to get some fresh air and puppy/kitty love too! If I’m working on a big project, it’s nice to have to flexibility to come and go from my studio when possible, or have your pet there with me- but I have worked out all kinds of house sit/drop in/boarding arrangements according to the needs of clients and their pets. Let’s talk! I live in a peaceful home with a large fenced in backyard, and nice quiet streets to walk with your pet as needed. I will follow whatever routines you generally stick to and prefer when working with your animals. Give me all the details of your needs and preferences, boundaries and particulars- no matter what type of sit- so I can be sure you and your pet(s) feel a sense of trust, ease, and predictability.
“Sarah was great! Very kind and great communication. Loved seeing all the pictures she took of Enzo on his walk. He always looked so happy! Sad she’s leaving the state for a few months but definitely looking forward to working with her again when she returns.”

About: I believe dogs, like people, need exercise and play time, and lots of love! I am so excited to play with your dogs! I will treat your pets and your home with the care and affection I would exercise on my own home. Animals and hiking are my true passions, so being out in nature with your pup is always a dream come true for me. We will stay active and engaged together to distract them from how much they miss you. Please check out my ample references. I have owned, cared for, and trained dogs all my life, and I love to fill my life with their infectious positivity. I am comfortable with all sizes and temperaments. Please feel free to message me with any questions or concerns, and I will reply as soon as possible! I like to help anyone who needs help! People aren't traveling as much as they used to, so I also clean houses, refinish decks, and am a notary public. I prioritize the pet care, and make my other puzzle pieces fit around your fur babies. I have 24.5 acres- 22 of it is an extensive old forest network with trails weaving around. The meadow area would make a great place to play fetch and enjoy the environment. The attention, exercise and great smelling work will keep your dog engaged and happy in your absence.

“Willow loved her stay with Daniella. We will definitely use her again. She sent pictures that made me feel we didn’t need to worry about Willow while we were gone. A real relief about having to leave her.”

“Katy was great! She was very communicative and willing to flexible about drop off time/location. She sent some updates and pics of Bender, and he was healthy and happy when we picked him up.”

“Lena was fantastic! We were nervous about our dog staying at her place because they had never met before, but as soon as we got there, he felt right at home. He could have cared less when we left him. She sent us pics all weekend and he looked so happy. It is obvious that Lena is a natural with animals and has the calm and soothing energy that they flock to. Thank you so much Lena!!!”
