Personalized care for your dog or cat - Penland

Highly-rated overnight sitters - Penland
“Samuel and Erica were great! I got lots of pictures and feedback. Samuel and Erica have Lana well trained as others have stated, and it’s evident. Moose settled in with them pretty quickly. Moose is small and didn’t want to play. They both learned to peacefully co-exist just as Samuel and Erica have experienced with other small pups. I highly recommend them!”

“All I can say is that I didn’t know Georgie could possibly be more spoiled than he already was but he is and that is a good thing! Made the entire trip away perfect knowing he was being so loved. Anyone who adores their dog and considers them their baby and not just a pet, do not hesitate to trust Toni to care for them.”

“We couldn’t have been happier with Jessica and Jack’s care of Blue and the overall experience. They were super responsive, friendly, helpful and accommodating from the first time I contacted them until the end of our dog’s stay. Jessica sent pictures and/or videos every day and so we didn’t have any concerns or worries during our time away. Very grateful for the love and care they gave our Blue- highly recommended!”

“I am so fortunate to have found Carola - not only did she take fantastic care of my two Brussels Griffon, she also prepared homemade food for them when they had upset bellies. They had a great time going on walks and playing with her and I can tell enjoyed their time with her. I greatly appreciate everything she did for them.”

“Daniella did such a great job with the dogs! We have never left them this long before and we were worried how they would be when we got back. They came home happy and full of energy, totally their normal selves. It was great getting photo updates every day. I would certainly use Danielle again. Thanks so much Daniella!”

“Sabrina was Great will Miss Ellie!! She was attentive and flexible to her needs. I received great feedback along with pictures and videos while I was away. Ellie was running and playing when I arrived to pick her up! Love Miss Sabrina!!!”

“Hope and her family are animal lovers and it shows. They were flexible about drop off and pickup times and weren't offended when I asked for a meet and greet before leaving our dog.”

“Olivia took such great care of my girl! She made everything super easy and convenient for us. She was attentive to all of Benelli’s needs and she even sent regular updates so that I knew how she was doing. I would absolutely recommend her services!!”

“I booked this boarding stay last-minute, after our initial pet care plan fell through, but it really couldn’t have worked out better! Valentine and her family were so great with my pup, Rocky. They kept her safe and busy while my husband and I participated in a friend’s wedding festivities. I felt confident leaving Rocky with Valentine, and I would definitely book again if ever back in the area. She’s caring and knows what she’s doing with animals, for sure.”

“Amy and Jason are amazing!! Very welcoming!! Prepared; Mochi is part of their family when there, they treat her as one of their own! Could not have asked for more…Mochi returns home very calm and gets back into real life at home quickly. Thank you! If you are hesitant; don’t be!!”

“Amber was great with Mr B. We were kept in the loop regarding what he was up to with photos and messages and he was a happy pup when we picked him up:) Mr B had a great time with Lukas, Amber’s dog. Thank you Amber :))”

“Elizabeth was amazing with Tex! I got daily updates and Tex seemed to really enjoy himself at their home. Communication was very easy from a meet and greet beforehand, to drop off, updated throughout his stay, and pick up. I highly recommend Elizabeth if you need a stress free place for your pet to stay while you’re away!”

“Jackie and Sammy were great with our dog, Nala. I don't think she wanted to come home. They sent lots of photos and videos letting us know what she was up to and how much fun she was having. We will definitely use them in the future.”

“Kayla was amazing to my senior pup while I went away for a long weekend trip. She was very responsive and made sure I was up to date on how Ribbit was while I was gone. I was very happy to have run into her profile and Ribbit had a blast. Would absolutely book with Kayla again! Thank you Kayla!”

About: Hey! I have been an animal lover since I was a kid. I have experience with dogs, cats, birds, reptiles, fish, rabbits, etc. I have volunteered with several pet rescues and I also foster dogs and cats sometimes. I have experience giving medications. I think what really sets me apart is how deeply I care for animals and how much safety and responsibility matter to me. I personally will only let one person watch my animals and that is because I’m super cautious with who watches my animals. I’m very careful about doors, gates, leashes, wildlife, etc and how to keep your pet safe and not get loose. If you are looking for someone who will treat your dog like their own and really prioritize their safety & comfort while you are away i’m your gal. I send cute photos, too! I also work as a mental health therapist and I’m home frequently doing video sessions so I’m around a lot. I also have experience in animal assisted therapy. My only request is that your animal is dog friendly especially since I have a little senior dog. I work from home most of the time so I’m around a lot. Because I do video sessions as a mental health therapist it is helpful if your animal doesn’t bark a ton for no reason. lol. In my home & yours I prioritize their comfort with feeding schedule, walks or hikes if desired, crate if preferred (sleeping, etc/safe space) , and safety.
About: I'm a wildlife biologist and lifelong animal lover with hands-on experience caring for a wide variety of animals. I've looked after pets for friends and family for years and have two beloved cats of my own. I've also volunteered at nature centers and helped care for farm animals, giving me a unique background in both domestic and wild animal care. Whether your pet is playful, shy, or needs extra TLC, I bring patience, responsibility, and genuine love to every visit. I work full time, so mornings before 8 am, evenings after 4pm and weekends work best for me! Within those hours, my schedule is flexible, so I’m available for daily drop-ins, walks, or extended stays. Whether it's an evening walk or feeding, or just playtime and cuddles, I’m happy to fit your pet's needs into my routine. I love for my pets and others’ pets to be spoiled and very loved in my home! If your pet is boarding at my home, I have an open yard for a dog to run around/play in, but it is not fenced in. I live close to parks and would be happy to take them on walks there as well! I have a comfortable home with plenty of comfy spaces for them to relax in as well.

“Jade was amazing with my kitty, Sylvia! She’s a typical orange cat with all the classic orange-cat energy, and Jade handled her so well. Jade even came by the day before my trip to get familiar with everything and to meet my puppy, Sadie, which I really appreciated. Sadie went to daycare while I was away, but after meeting Jade, I would have zero hesitation leaving her in Jade’s care, too. It’s such a relief to have a reliable, trustworthy cat sitter and dog walker nearby. Highly recommend!”

“Megan and Josh were absolutely amazing house sitters! They took the best care of my girl Khloe, sent me daily photo updates, and left the house way cleaner than it was before. Highly, highly recommend!”

“We are so happy to have found William! He was very responsive from our first meet & greet through the time he spent at our house watching our kitties. The house was clean and in order when we returned home and, most importantly, our cats were well taken care of.”

“Sydney is amazing!! She helped me out with my puppy very last minute. She always came on time and followed instructions perfectly! Even though my dog gave her some difficulty in the beginning she was patient and quickly made him feel very comfortable with her. She always sent photos and updates with each visit. I highly recommend her! We cannot thank you enough!”

I’m Celeste — your dog’s new favorite auntie 🐾 I’m a lifelong animal lover originally from Denver, now living right in downtown Asheville with my 5-year-old “puppy” (yes, she still thinks she’s a baby). We go on daily mountain walks, explore the city, and spend way too much time cuddling — so your dog will fit right into our routine. I’m dependable, nurturing, and super communicative. About: I’ve loved and cared for cats my entire life and genuinely enjoy getting to know each pet’s personality and routine. I’m calm, dependable, attentive, and especially good with shy or sensitive cats who need patience and a gentle presence.
About: My family have always owned at least 4 dogs at a time and growing up it was our responsibility as kids to care for them. We would brush them, walk them, feed them, and bath them. I recently graduated with an MBA from East Tennessee State University and I’m working full time as a marketing manager for Ballad Health Medical Associates. I work 3 in days in the office Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and work 2 days remotely Monday and Friday. My job is 2 minutes from my home so I would be able to check on your dog during lunch or check on them at your place. For this reason I don’t accept house sitting on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday that are more than 10 miles away. They will have my attention at all time. They might get tired of me wanting to play with them. I love being around dogs and will make sure your fury friend is well taken care of and happy

I am looking for something that will fit into that kind of schedule. I have no animals at home. It is safe and a very clean environment. I am the most respectful and will aways listen to what you and your pets need.

“Great daycare service! Brody was very easy to communicate with and was able to fit us in due to a last minute cancellation by our usual rover sitter. He had a great yard for the dogs to play in and gave us updates throughout the day. If we are visiting Asheville again, we’ll definitely use Brody again :)”

About: **About me & my home** Dogs have been a part of my life for as long as I can remember — they are simply woven into who I am. I hold an associate's degree in pre-veterinary medicine and have volunteered alongside veterinarians, which gave me hands-on clinical experience and a deeper understanding of animal health and behavior. I have spent a lifetime learning what truly makes dogs tick, and it shows in how I care for them. I live with my husband and our Boston Terrier, **Leo** — just the three of us. We are a quiet, dog-loving household with no children or other pets, which means your dog will enjoy a calm, attentive environment from the moment they arrive. Leo is charming, friendly, and absolutely loves meeting new dogs and playing. My husband and I are both devoted dog lovers, so your pup will never be short on affection. I am currently not working, which means I am home all day, every day — your dog will have my complete, undivided attention around the clock. No rushing off to an office, no leaving your pup alone. Just full-time, devoted care. I am also a photographer, so expect an abundance of beautiful, candid photos and videos of your dog throughout their stay — memories you'll want to keep forever. **My approach: quality over quantity, always** I accept one family at a time — this is intentional and non-negotiable. Your dog deserves undivided attention, not a crowded boarding environment. Families with two dogs are warmly welcome; that is the perfect arrangement. Your pets will be treated like family: long walks on beautiful forested trails right from my door, plenty of love, proper nutrition, and full-time human companionship every single day. **Good to know before booking** - I do not accept aggressive dogs under any circumstances. - I do not accept females in heat. - Please bathe your dog before arrival — I have allergies, and a fresh coat makes a meaningful difference. Bathing on arrival is available for an additional fee. - Please bring: crate, bed, bowls, leash, favorite toys, and any medications. - Medication administration fee: 1 medication once/day $3 · twice/day $5 | 2 medications once/day $5 · twice/day $10. - Tell me everything — quirks, anxieties, funny habits, challenging behaviors. I've heard and seen it all, and I never judge. The more you share, the better I can care for your loved one. - Not a good fit for very large or extremely powerful dogs that require exceptional physical strength to handle safely on a leash. **Other pets I can care for:** Turtles · Hamsters · Guinea pigs · Bunnies · Fish · Birds NEW CLIENTS: $20 of your first booking when you use this link to book: https://www.rover.com/sit/linao I am all day at home, doggies will have me around pretty much all the time; except when I go out to run an errand. I provide walks with the leash always I pay attention to their behaviors to be able to read their needs Love and structure, a mixture that always works with furbabies

About: Hi! I'm Megan! As a former Kennel/Vet Tech with Vet Tech schooling and growing up with dogs, cats, horses and chickens, I have always had a special bond and connection to animals. I have experience with all kinds of different breeds and personalities! My husband, Josh, and I live in our camper van, so we are able to provide constant care for your pets while you're away. When you book us for overnight sits, we take care of your pets and stay in your home as a team of professional petsitters. Josh works remotely in IT, and I work some weekends in the wedding industry, so with no physical, daily job to go to and no house/pets of our own to check on, we are able to spend a significant amount of our time taking care of your pets. A bonus of our luxury care is that your pets will get double the love and attention from us throughout the day; our goal is to keep their routine as normal as possible and for them to hardly know you're gone! Living in a van and working remotely comes with so much flexibility for us and our Rover clients. Pet parents value the level of care we're able to provide with our nomadic lifestyle. Petcare is my full-time job, so when you book us for a housesit, that is my main priority. While I'm the main caretaker, Josh learns about your pets' care needs and helps out a ton as well, especially if I have to work a wedding or I need to do drop-ins/dog walks. We work great as a team to meet your pets’ needs and to keep their normal routine. We take the safety of your pets and the care of your home very serious. If you have pets that require special attention or have high anxiety, we are there to ensure everyone is safe, relaxed, and taken care of. We care for your pets as if they were our own and you can be rest assured they'll not only have their needs met, but be loved, played with and given plenty of attention as well!
About: Hi there! I’ve had the privilege of working at the McDowell County Animal Shelter, where my passion for animals truly began to grow. That love for pets later led me to become a doggy daycare attendant in Wilmington. Over the last few years, I’ve really enjoyed meeting new people, spending time with pets, and making lasting connections through Rover. With hands-on experience in walking, feeding, playtime, and giving lots of love, I’m dedicated to making sure every pet in my care feels safe, happy, and comfortable. ⏰ My Schedule: I work from my computer so I am completely free for pet sitting, walks, and extra snuggles. Clients often tell me their pets look happy and relaxed in the photos and videos I send. I believe animals can feel when they are genuinely loved, and that’s the kind of care I bring to every visit. Under my care, your pets will always have: ✔ Fresh food and clean water ✔ Regular walks and exercise ✔ Plenty of cuddles, play, and attention ✔ Memorable photo and video updates 📸 My promise is simple: to treat your pets like family and give you peace of mind while you’re away.🐶🐾🐱 Caring for pets is a natural part of my daily routine. I make sure they have healthy food, clean water, exercise, and a comfortable space to relax. During the week, I’m available for before and after work visits, and on weekends I’m completely free to provide longer stays, walks, and extra attention. Pet care fits easily into my schedule because I truly enjoy it—it doesn’t feel like work, it feels like quality time with a furry friend. When I care for pets—whether in my home or in a client’s—I focus on creating a safe, loving, and comfortable environment. I make sure they always have fresh food, clean water, exercise, and plenty of affection. Every pet is unique, so I pay close attention to their routines and personalities to keep them happy and at ease. To give you peace of mind, I send regular photo and video updates so you can see your pet enjoying their time and feeling cared for. My goal is simple: for you to feel completely confident that your furry family member is safe, loved, and well taken care of while you’re away.

About: “I have taken care of dogs my whole life and currently have a sweet pug puppy named Willow. I love taking dogs on walks, giving them playtime, potty breaks, snuggles, and lots of attention. I treat every dog like my own — with patience, kindness, and positive reinforcement. Whether it’s a quick drop-in or an overnight stay, your pup will feel safe, happy and deeply loved in my care I work from home as an artist and am almost always here, so your dog will get consistent walks, potty breaks, playtime, and plenty of snuggles throughout the day. They won’t be left alone except for quick errands. 🐾 My home is very dog-friendly with a fully fenced in yard, tons of toys, comfy dog beds, and lots of space to relax. Dogs are welcome on the furniture and in my bed (just like my own pups). I treat every dog like part of the family — with lots of love, patience, and positive reinforcement. 🐾
About: I have volunteered at an animal rescue sanctuary for 10+ years. As a caretaker my duties at the sanctuary require demanding physical labor, housekeeping, and responsibilities of supervision over animals and other volunteers. We had over 100+ different types of animals and always have been around dogs and cats! They are my joy! I work 2 full time jobs but I have mornings, evenings and weekends open! I am looking for something that will fit into that kind of schedule. I have no animals at home. It is safe and a very clean environment. I am the most respectful and will aways listen to what you and your pets need.

About: I believe dogs, like people, need exercise and play time, and lots of love! I am so excited to play with your dogs! I will treat your pets and your home with the care and affection I would exercise on my own home. Animals and hiking are my true passions, so being out in nature with your pup is always a dream come true for me. We will stay active and engaged together to distract them from how much they miss you. Please check out my ample references. I have owned, cared for, and trained dogs all my life, and I love to fill my life with their infectious positivity. I am comfortable with all sizes and temperaments. Please feel free to message me with any questions or concerns, and I will reply as soon as possible! I like to help anyone who needs help! People aren't traveling as much as they used to, so I also clean houses, refinish decks, and am a notary public. I prioritize the pet care, and make my other puzzle pieces fit around your fur babies. I have 24.5 acres- 22 of it is an extensive old forest network with trails weaving around. The meadow area would make a great place to play fetch and enjoy the environment. The attention, exercise and great smelling work will keep your dog engaged and happy in your absence.
About: Animals just relax around me. I’ve worked with many pet owners who are apprehensive to leave their pets with anyone due to the pet’s nervous temperaments, and other various quirks, and every single time the animals have surprised their owners by completely settling in with me. I prioritize play, love, and connecting with each individual pet I watch however they specifically need. I’ve looked after animals of all breeds, ages, & temperaments- from anxious & fussy older pets to energetic young puppies. I have experience administering medications to sick animals, hand feeding injured puppies, walking several pets at once, and managing dogs & cats that are a bit wild. I’ve even cared for lizards, turtles, fish, plants (haha), hamsters, birds, & rabbits. Whatever their needs, I will make sure they feel safe, loved, & at home while they’re with me. I am a potter who works from my home studio, and I make my own schedule- so I can generally be flexible and accommodate your pets needs. I love having pets in my home, and breaking away from my studio to get some fresh air and puppy/kitty love too! If I’m working on a big project, it’s nice to have to flexibility to come and go from my studio when possible, or have your pet there with me- but I have worked out all kinds of house sit/drop in/boarding arrangements according to the needs of clients and their pets. Let’s talk! I live in a peaceful home with a large fenced in backyard, and nice quiet streets to walk with your pet as needed. I will follow whatever routines you generally stick to and prefer when working with your animals. Give me all the details of your needs and preferences, boundaries and particulars- no matter what type of sit- so I can be sure you and your pet(s) feel a sense of trust, ease, and predictability.

About: Hi! My name is Jade and I am an avid dog enthusiast and college student. I currently own a 1 year old Australian Shepherd and boy oh boy does he have energy. Before him I had another Aussie (female) who acquired cancer around 7-8years old, because of this I have sadly become very skilled with working with sick/hurting dogs. I also love to train dogs, my current Aussie has a Novice Trick Dog title from AKC and we are working on his intermediate title while learning Conformation skills and Therapy dog skills. I am very patient with the pups and am a big believer in positive reinforcement. My Aussie is registered and I am very good friends with his breeder who is very knowledgeable in this field and is always happy to lend a hand. Currently I have no dogs at home, because I live in Tennessee for college and my Aussie is back with my family in Texas. Thanks for your consideration!! I’m currently a student, so I have a very flexible schedule in which I can take care of animals in your home or mine! I love walking dogs (I live in a safe-gated apartment complex) and chilling on the couch with sweet cats! I have a large apartment, and can take the dogs on long walks to suit their needs. I’m diligent about always feeding and watering animals before myself and am fully committed to the wellbeing of the fur babies in my care!

“I couldn't be any happier to leave my two Huskies with Lina! She was always giving updates of both of them and sending me pictures! I can tell she really love dogs and how much she cares about animals! If i had to do it over again , I would do it with my eyes close! Thanks a lot!!! They deserve more than 5 stars!! :)”

“Kaitlyn accepted our request at last minute and was flexible with pickup when our flight got delayed. She kept us updated with message and pictures. Mylles loved his stay there. I will definitely use her service again.”

“Lauren was a great choice! Sutton loved her and her family and came home a tired but happy boy. She was great and was very responsive with me. She was also very flexible with drop off and pick up which I really appreciated. I will definitely use her again!!”
“Hannah is the BEST!!! Highly recommended. I immediately felt like I was dealing with someone who has it together which gave me peace of mind that Moses was in good hands. She was friendly, communicative, and sent photos and updates. At no point was I worried about my sweet pooch. Thank you, Hannah. You’re greatly appreciated.”

“Lena was fantastic! We were nervous about our dog staying at her place because they had never met before, but as soon as we got there, he felt right at home. He could have cared less when we left him. She sent us pics all weekend and he looked so happy. It is obvious that Lena is a natural with animals and has the calm and soothing energy that they flock to. Thank you so much Lena!!!”

About: Hello, I'm Allison. I love animals. I started taking care of my family's pets when I was 4 years old. Animals play a huge part in my life, especially dogs. I'm a proud owner of a mix breed (Chance) and two other dogs(Loki and Prada. Who are all rescues. Chance was rescued off the side of the road with a minor head injury. Loki was rescued from a litter of pups, where he was the runt that nobody wanted. Prada was rescued from a "homeless", who could not care for her. I'm very patient and loving when it comes to the care of animals. I've worked at a animal shelter/vets office for 1 year. My services include feeding, playing, exercise, bathing, cage-less boarding, teeth brushing, and more. I'm capable of giving your Pet it's medication (oral or injection if needed). Im a stay at home mom. So I'll have plenty of time to play with your fur babies. My schedule is pretty flexible if needed. I have a very friendly and social cat. She mostly stays in her car tree or I can put her in a separate part of the apartment. So no need to worry about your fur baby getting her. I can also crate your fur baby if needed
