About: I have had, rescued, and taken care of a wide variety of dogs from smaller malti-poos to a Dane who had been living on the street, was skin and bones, and ended up 188 lbs. Currently I have Pippa, a 7-year-old Labrador who is allergic to chicken, so I make part of her food. I am home most of the time, except when I host overly-complex board games at the Hickory Library or the Highland Rec Center -- and those sessions are at most 3 hours long. About: My mom got me my first dog when I was 10 years old, and it was from then on that I promised to take care of him the best way I knew how. I have experience administering medication (in pill form, liquid, and gel) to both dogs and cats, even when they don’t want to take it. I have also personally trained my dog to sit, lie down, high five, and on accident, I taught him to get up on his hind legs and beg with his front paws. If there is any special care that your animal needs, I would be more than happy to quickly and efficiently learn and adapt to care for your animal the way they deserve. I am currently job searching, so I will be free almost every weekday with exception for surprise obligations that my family often come to me with. I am not available on the weekends, including friday for various extraneous responsibilities. When I first meet an animal, I get down to their level and extend my hand just enough to offer it as an option for them to investigate, but not enough to shove it it their face. I wait until the dog or cat engages with me before I try to pet them on my own to ensure that they feel comfortable and safe. If your animal has separation anxiety, I would be more than happy to comfort them with calming words and gentle hands for pets and snuggles. I will only feed or give your animal a treat if I am told to do so or given the okay beforehand as I do not want to over feed them or give them a treat you have bought without consent.

I’m currently on terminal leave from the military and will be starting my graduate program soon, with classes only on Wednesdays and Thursdays. This gives me a flexible schedule with plenty of free time on the other weekdays, evenings, and weekends. I’m available for sitting, and walks most days and can easily adjust around my class times to provide pet care. About: Ever since I can remember we’ve had a fur friend in the house! My family and I at one point in time fostered fur friends until they could go to their forever home! I have been around and taken care of all kinds of dogs from pit bulls -chihuahuas! I am working part time right now and going to college online to be a speech and language pathologist! The times I work do vary between morning shifts and closing shifts! I want my fur friends and family to feel as safe and cared for as I do in any environment!
