About: I grew up on a family farm in Iowa, raising beef cattle, chickens, dogs, cats, horses and the occasional raccoon! I have experience from bottlefeeding newborn baby animals up to senior pets. My schedule varies weekly. I am a professional photographer that works on site and from home. My “home work” location is flexible as long as I have Wi-Fi! I can be fairly flexible with times as well as staying with your pet. For pets in my home, I live in an apartment with my boyfriend and there’s a river trail nearby for longer walks along with a pet area at my complex. I have previously stayed at and checked daily friends, family, and clients homes while they’re out of town/at work to care for their pets as well as farm animals. I have a wide array of experience working with different animals from regular in-home pets to many farm animals with feeding, walking, and giving medication if needed.
“Dana was great watching our Maggie for the weekend! She sent frequent updates and photos on how she was doing. She gave our pup lots of great attention during her stay. Maggie was happy and worn out from a long weekend of playing when we picked her up!”

About: I grew up not being able to have any cats or dogs so I was always watching my friends/family's pets every chance I got. My intuition with most pets really helps me be able to get along with them and keep them happy in any way I can! I am a financial account representative for Shamrock Trading Corporation/RTS Financial in Overland Park. I work 8-5 Monday through Friday so weekends work best for me. On the weekends I can essentially surround my plans around how much time the pet needs and be pretty flexible in regards to what has to get done. In most circumstances I only take care of pets at the clients home. I feed the pets, walk them, play with them, spend time with them or do anything I can to go above and beyond in order to please my client.

About: I’ve been around dogs my entire life, but what really sets me apart is hands-on experience actually raising and training one myself. I grew up training my German Shepherd from a young age, which taught me patience, consistency, and how to understand dog behavior, not just watch them. As a student athlete, I’m very active, so I naturally bring a lot of energy to walks, playtime, and keeping dogs engaged. At the same time, I understand that every dog is different, some need structure and training, while others need calm, gentle care, especially seniors. I’m comfortable reinforcing basic training, handling larger or high-energy breeds, and making sure pets feel safe and understood while their owners are away. I don’t just “watch” dogs, I genuinely enjoy spending time with them and building trust. As a college student athlete, I keep a very structured schedule, which actually makes me reliable and consistent when it comes to pet care. I plan my days around responsibilities, so I make sure pets are fed, walked, and given attention on time. I also work part-time at a golf course, but I’m looking to spend more of my free time doing something I enjoy, being around dogs. Pet care fits naturally into my routine because it gives me a break from school and sports while still staying active. Whether it’s morning walks, afternoon check-ins, or evening care, I’m used to balancing multiple commitments and staying dependable. I focus on keeping pets comfortable by sticking as closely as possible to their normal routine, feeding times, walks, play, and any training habits they’re used to. In a client’s home, I’m respectful of both the space and the pet’s environment, making sure everything stays clean, safe, and stress-free. I give dogs plenty of attention, exercise, and supervision, and I always keep owners updated so they feel confident their pet is in good hands. I’m especially attentive to energy levels and behavior, whether that means getting a high-energy dog out for a long walk or just spending calm time with a more relaxed or older dog.
About: I’ve kept and rescued animals since a young age, which included tending to any wounds or injuries. My own pets were fosters, and most recently I fostered a lovely pittie who was then adopted. I’m very good with skittish cats, and I have a good understanding of basic dog training techniques. Lastly, I live a street away from a nice park which is good for dog walks. I love all animals, and spending time with them and caring for them is just as good for me as it is for them. I am currently self employed and jobs are few, so I have a very flexible schedule. Most, if not all my time would be dedicated to any pets in my care. I do have two of my own cats, so any dogs would have to be okay with cats in the house. All pets are different, with their own personalities, routines and likes/dislikes. Therefore, I plan to ask for detailed instructions regarding pet care. This can include things like a preference to crate the dog at night, dietary restrictions, favorite activities etc. I am detail oriented and appreciate any information or details owners can provide about their pets so that I may provide the best care possible.

“Christine was super flexible with our last minute need for someone to watch our dog while we were on vacation. Our dog came home happy and tired from a day of fun playing with Christine and her kids.”

“Ron did a great job accommodating my 10 month old standard poodle who can have a lot of energy at times. It is obvious that Ron loves the company of dogs and I plan on having Link visit him for daycare each week! Link came home happy, well cared for, and calm.”

About: Hello! I’ve been dog sitting for over a couple years for friends and family and I can’t wait to do more for the community. I love all animals and treat them like family. I’m excited to meet more furry friends! I’m currently a medical student at UAMS. I usually just stay at home and study. I’ll have plenty of time to go on walks, dog parks, and much more! I have a back yard and a smoke free home to keep your furry friend company whenever needs be. I can adapt to your needs as long as we communicate and work through it!

“Trent and Kalyn took great care of my dog! She really enjoyed her time with them! It can be so scary leaving your furry loved one with someone you don’t know, so it was a great relief to find Trent & Kalyn to care for her! They were accommodating and very communicative-and I am so appreciative!”

“Caitlin took great care of our Corgi and Cockapoo. The girls had the best time and were exhausted when we picked them up. We will definitely book with Caitlyn again.”

“Allison was fantastic! Ozzie adored her and her dog, and by the third day when I told him he was going to see her he got excited. She kept me updated with lots of photos and was also very understanding of my shifting drop-off and pick-up hours due to the nature of the daytime event I was working. I will definitely be sending Ozzie to stay with her again in the future, and would recommend her to anyone.”
About: Hi, I’m Chris! Dogs have always been a huge part of my life—I’ve spent 30+ years caring for pets for friends and family and I volunteer at a local shelter as a dog walker. I work from home and now have the flexibility to spend more time doing what I love: keeping good dogs (and cats) company. Your dog will get plenty of attention, care, and a walk they’ll look forward to. With a work-from-home schedule, I’m able to offer flexible, attentive care for your pup. We regularly walk around Loose Park and the Plaza and would love to include your dog. When visiting your home, I make sure each walk is tailored to your neighborhood and your dog’s routine. I provide a safe, structured, and attentive environment tailored to each dog’s needs. I take the time to understand your pet’s routine—feeding, exercise, and any specific preferences—so they feel comfortable and cared for from the start. In your home, I’m respectful and detail-oriented, ensuring doors, gates, and leashes are handled carefully at all times. Walks are attentive and controlled, with a focus on safety, awareness, and your dog’s comfort level. With my background in shelter volunteering, I’m experienced with a range of temperaments and prioritize calm, positive interactions. I also provide regular updates, so you can feel confident your dog is in good hands while you’re away.
“Rachel was awesome! She answered my request fast, and accommodated watching my dog on very short notice. She sent me pictures right away, was communicative and super sweet. Will definitely be using her again!”

About: I have been the "go-to" dog sitter for my circle of friends for years, and I’ve realized that the only thing better than having one dog in the house is having two (or three if you have a pair of pups!). I’m opening up my home to Rover guests primarily to provide some social fun for my own dog, Ripley. Ripley is a high-energy ball of joy who loves to play, so if you have a dog that never seems to tire out, they’ll find a kindred spirit here. Whether it's rounds of fetch, wrestling in the yard, or just having a buddy to nap with, your dog will be integrated into our daily routine. What to Expect: • Individualized Attention: Because I only sit 1 family’s dogs at a time, your dogs will get plenty of attention! • Active Days: We specialize in high-energy play. If your dog loves to move, they’ll come home happy and exhausted. • A Present Sitter: I work from home so your dogs will have plenty of face time with me! All dogs with an easy going temperament that are ready to play are welcome. I work from home so your dogs will get plenty of belly rubs and play time. I typically give Ripley a long walk (3 miles) after work that your pup is welcome to join or we can just stick to outdoor play time. I have a fenced in yard and a friendly dog that would love to play outside with your pup. I will send you daily updates and photos. I am happy to accommodate crate-trained dogs (bring your own crate) or dogs that roam a little bit more free (provided they don’t have destructive tendencies😂). I am a bit of a toasty sleeper so unfortunately no dogs in the bed, but they are welcome to sleep at the foot of my bed or anywhere else in the house!

About: I have cared for my friend’s dogs while they are away many times. I enjoy providing animals with enrichment and making sure they get ample exercise. I am careful around new dogs to let them show me what kind of care they prefer, and strive to make my time with them as enjoyable as possible for both of us. I have full time evening employment. I am available to care for pets Sunday-Thursday 9am to 2pm (meaning my latest available visit would start at 1:30pm for an 30 min visit), and All day Fridays and Saturdays! I have lots of experience with sneaky animals who love eating things they are not supposed to eat or hiding in places they should not be. I am diligent with putting away foodstuffs and making sure doors/ screens are shut. Please let me know if your pet has these behaviors so I can be prepared before the visit.
About: I strive to care for all animals with the utmost respect and kindness! I am very patient and will always interact with your pets as if they were my own. I have 4+ years of experience caring for my own cats, cat sitting for friends, and volunteering through KC Pet Project. I currently work a regular 8-5 M-F. I'm available most evenings and weekends to care for your pets. I am also usually free and in town during holidays. I am happy to accommodate your busy schedule! I take a calm and gentle approach and will respect and accommodate any needs of the pets I care for. I understand that all animals are unique and am excited to cater my services to your pet's personality.
“Kimball is wonderful! She happily met our pup beforehand and was very professional and attentive to her needs. She did a great job of walking her and loving on her, making sure she got a good walk in while we are at work.”

About: Ever since I was a child, I’ve been surrounded by animals—dogs, cats, even hamsters, rabbits, and fish! Now, being a full time student at Rockhurst University here in KC, having an animal of my own, Lemmy (a sweet Ragdoll cat), has been an ultimate highlight in my daily routine. I love taking care of my own animal, and having such a strong passion for it would allow me to give the same, special care for your own furry friend! I’m used to all animals of all ages and sizes, and am eager to help in any way possible! I’m currently a college student at Rockhurst University in Kansas City, and have a very flexible schedule! I’m willing to accommodate most days/times to help with your needs! I will make sure all food is given out properly and water is freshly filled. I’ll ensure that the doors remain locked when I’m there and when I leave, and that your animals are safe and calm!

“Ron was terrific! I loved that I was able to find a walker in my neighborhood. He and Kerry bonded and they both seemed to love each other’s company.”

“Came over the day before to meet Sawyer. Went for walk on trail near my house even though I said they could just walk the neighborhood. Went above and beyond, would book again!”

“Professional, accommodating, and reliable. Ashley did a wonderful job looking after my senior dog whilst I was out of town. I wouldn't hesitate to utilize her services again in the future!”

About: I've been living my dream for the past three and a half years, pet-sitting in exchange for accommodation as I travel the U.S. as a full-time digital nomad. My extensive nomadic pet-sitting experience has largely been built through a different platform (where I have over 50 five-star reviews for my pet-sitting services) while I worked an unrelated job remotely, but I have converted to / added on Rover in light of being impacted by a mass layoff several months ago. As you can see, I've completed Rover sits in other parts of the U.S. But, Kansas (City) is my home base (I used to live in KC, and I have family/friends all over the area), and I'll be back for a bit in July. I am certainly looking to spend some time in the city while I'm in the area this summer, and I know from experience that pet-sitting is a great way to do it! In the aftermath of my layoff, I have remained very stable through remote side gigs and projects that keep me busy and fulfilled (e.g., a paid remote internship teaching me something new, travel blogging). Still, I have more flexibility in my days to travel to other parts of town and do my work in various settings, so I enjoy utilizing my extensive pet-sitting experience to even further stabilize my life financially. Over the past few years, I've cared for all sorts of pets, ranging from one healthy cat to a seven-animal pack including previously-stray dogs who need to be proven to that they're safe. I've truly made some best friends in these pets; my top favorites have been pitbulls with a personality, as well as cats who provide me some freedom in my daily routine. I've also provided all sorts of medical care to my furry friends: simple pills in pill pockets, "pilling" a cat, checking glucose levels of a diabetic cat and giving it insulin injections, giving a dog allergy immunizations, post-seizure comfort care to a dog, and sincere patience with senior dogs on walks, going up stairs, or who are in the stage of life of needing to wear diapers. I've also watched service dogs who adhere to a different set of rules/commands than their siblings. (When I was younger, I helped train a litter of puppies, so that's also not foreign to me.) While my experience is top-quality, I also have a true love for just spending time with animals, especially dogs and cats. What you can count on from me as your pet-sitter: 1) I will send at least one/two picture(s) a day (if not more because you request it or they do something extra cute/funny!), 2) I will end the sit with various nicknames for them, 3) I will talk to them all day and invite them into every room I hang out in (as long as they're allowed), and 4) I am very attentive to their nonverbal cues, and I will contact you and/or a virtual vet if something seems really off. Pet-sitting has been such a huge part of my nomadic journey thus far, and I've absolutely loved it. . . . I see an opportunity through Rover to monetize and further stabilize my life - as I conduct a full-time job search and pursue adventures I have planned, but also beyond. In my profile pictures, I have included some of my reviews on the other platform I've used for the past few years. If a pet-owner is still curious, I would be happy to provide them with my full profile link. I'm a digital nomad, and pet-sitting has been such a huge part of my journey! I am excited to be back in Kansas City for a bit this summer, and I'm eager to share my time with your pets! My calendar is updated for those dates I'm available. I've spent lots of time in KC over the years, through pet-sitting and living there before I got on the road. I can start my days early and stay up late; I've watched pets who rise before the sun comes up, as well as ones who sleep in like teenagers! I have a lot of remote, digital work to do (ranging from my remote internship to my full-time job search, to running a blog), and your pet is welcome to sit in my lap / at my feet while I work. In my part-time employment era, I have more flexibility and time on my hands, so I figure I might as well expand my time with pets! I look forward to keeping your pets company overnight while watching over your home. But, if you just need someone throughout the day, I love a good coffee shop, so I can hang out at one in your area between drop-ins. In my free time, I enjoy blogging/writing, reading, practicing yoga, cooking and baking, enjoying coffee shops and parks, and going on walks. So, both energetic and calm pets will have a buddy in me. I love a good night in, but I also love to explore new neighborhoods. I look forward to doing so while watching over your furry family! I only agree to pet-sits I feel confident about meeting the pet/home-owners' expectations. Luckily for those searching for the best care for their fur family, I have an extremely wide range of successful experience, including medical/anxiety/senior and home care. Some pets simply need--and want--a human to take them outside and feed them. Others require a bit more attention. I think I really have done it all. I've watched over and bonded with eager, cuddly pets, as well as many rescued/previously-stray dogs who take quite a bit of time to warm up, and cats who fill the litter box and empty the food bowl but rarely show their face. I'm always eager to give the animals my love and affection, should they welcome it, and to fulfill their care needs. I follow all procedures and care that your pet is used to / that you request for them and your home. I am very attentive to pet-owners' instructions, from feeding instructions to crating needs during specific amounts of time alone/overnight, to medication instructions and signs to look out for, to times your fur baby needs to be let out or wants to wake for the day or go to bed. If your pet loves to cuddle and is allowed in the bed or on the couch, they will be welcome to join me. Additionally, I've been astounded to learn how important the HOUSE-sitting portion can be. . . . I've saved a flooding bathroom caused by the connected unit, handled a creepy neighbor while keeping the homeowner involved, kept a saltwater pool clean and operating, oversaw an AC and furnace replacement, and more. Especially for overnight stays, I am known to leave homes just as clean if not cleaner than I found them, with bedding and towels taken care of if my departure time allows.

About: I take my dog (Louie) on walks daily, so I would love to add your dog to our routine! I’ve been dog sitting for 20+ years, in addition to my family always having at least one dog. I personally love smaller dogs. I have experience with rat terriers, cavapoo, yorkies and cavalier king charles breeds. I love pets and think they’re so important to a family! Let me help you keep your pet happy and healthy 😁 I live on the Plaza so I’m in a very walkable part of town, near many parks. I walk my dog in the evenings after work - a quick workout for both of us. We love to walk around Kansas City together! When I’m home, Louie is always right by my side - on the couch, in bed or even while I’m cooking. I crate him most nights and while I’m at work. I live in an apartment so walks are very necessary - we go on at least one a day or we run in my apartment’s dog park. Would love to add your dog to the mix!

“I have and will continue to keep sending my pup to stay with brittany. She is great at communicating, quick to reply, and always sends several pictures during the stay. My dog gets lots of play time in her large backyard and is always well taken care of!”

“Ashley was absolutely wonderful with Cici! We needed a sitter on very short notice while we were out of town for our wedding weekend, and she was so kind and accommodating. She took excellent care of Cici and kept us updated throughout the weekend with messages and photos, which gave us so much peace of mind. Her kids were also so sweet and gentle with Cici, and it was clear she felt comfortable and well cared for. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience and would highly recommend Ashley to anyone looking for a trustworthy and caring pet sitter!”

“Becky took such great care of our two boys! She sent pictures and videos every day and loved them just like we do. So thankful to have a trusted sitter while we are out of town! We will definitely use again!”

“Erin is the BEST!! She keeps me updated with photos, and my 1 year old golden doodle is a part of her family while she's there. She often has other dogs there too for her to play with. 100% recommend Erin.”

“Had great experience with Jessie! She was super patient with both of our dogs, but especially with our dog who takes a minute to warm up to new dogs. She kept me updated all weekend with videos and pictures. Couldn't recommend enough!”

About: I grew up raising and caring for dogs, gaining hands on experience with feeding, grooming, and understanding different behaviors, needs, and personalities in a loving, responsible environment. I am available during the day but I work from 1a-11a . Please note that my children may also be present at my home during the stay. I will get the extra accessories I need , due to me not having a fenced in yard, such as a leash, a harness, and toys if not provided ! I will ensure to keep your fur babies entertained!
“Nathen did a great job taking care of my golden retriever Stella. He’s got a cozy area in his basement where the dogs he’s taking care of can hang out with him while he works, and a good sized, fenced back yard for play.”

“This was our fist time boarding our dogs. They did great and loved Joseph. He made them feel comfortable right away. They came back happy and tired. Would definitely recommend Joseph.”

“This was my first time leaving Lucy with a sitter like this, so I was definitely a little anxious. Melissa made the whole experience really easy and kept me updated while I was gone. Lucy came home happy and well taken care of, and I felt like she was in good hands the whole time. I’d definitely trust Melissa with Lucy again!”
