My dogs loved it there, it was the perfect environment for them while I was away, as close to a setting of just being at home as I could have imagined possible. This worked great, especially considering my youngest dog had never been boarded anywhere for overnight. They both fit in and adjusted well quickly. They got used to their new routine quickly, and the youngest really liked the electronic doggie door. About: I’ve had dogs of my own over the years and have raised them from puppies, so I’m very familiar with all stages of a dog’s life from training and high-energy puppy behavior to the needs of adult and senior dogs. I’ve also personally fostered two daschund dogs for several years while a friend went through a difficult transition, caring for them full-time until she was able to find pet-friendly housing. That experience really deepened my understanding of long-term, committed pet care. Over the years, I’ve cared for dogs of all sizes and breeds from larger dogs like Boxers to small breeds like Boston Terriers, Dachshunds, and Yorkies. “Heidi did a wonderful job looking after our bottle baby Muffin (kitten) while we worked in office this week and last. At only 2 weeks old when we took her in, Muffin needed to be fed every 3-4 hours around the clock, and neither my husband nor I can work from home more than a day each week. Heidi came in clutch on the days we had to work in office, bottle feeding her, helping her potty, and playing with her during each visit. I had such peace of mind that Muffin was well cared for. About: I've had cats in my life since I was a baby and care for 3 of my own. My cat Luna who has now passed was THAT animal in my life, if you know what I mean. I raised her from 3 weeks old and taught her to play fetch, do some basic commands, and to walk on a leash. She needed me to give her milk for several weeks, and care for her 24/7 when she came into my life. So I am no stranger to special needs cats/kittens. I've even provided end of life care to my grandmother's cat which included injections and oral medication and cleaning her body when she had accidents. My special needs dog has no business procreating! I have a large home and a decent sized yard with a tie-out cable so that your pet can explore my whole backyard safely without fear of taking off. I also have a screened in porch that I often let the cats roam in during the nicer months. I have a Honda CR-V, so I can keep decently large dogs in the car as well for transport or in case of emergency. If I am caring for your pet in your home, I will cuddle, play, exercise, and feed & water them to their hearts content. About: Dogs have been my passion since my earliest memories. When I was a young girl, I was always training my family and friends dogs. I also would take care of my friends dogs when needed. I started to get involved with dog sports around the age of 12. In addition to this, I trained my dog to be a therapy dog. When I was 16 I started to volunteer at the Animal Humane Society in Golden Valley for a few years before going to college. I graduated from the University of Minnesota- Twin Cities with a degree in Communications and a minor in Leadership. Along the way, I took many classes to learn more about animal behavior and psychology. However, once I graduated, I was at a loss of what to pursue. It was during this time when I stumbled into working for Invisible Fence as a dog trainer. I found my true passion of training dogs through this. I have worked with hundreds of dogs in veterinary, rescue, boarding and grooming settings. I have attained a CGC with two dogs and done some agility. But mostly I love just being with dogs, mine and any I come across, walking, playing, snuggling, swimming, and anything that brings that smile to their face and that sparkle to their eye. About: I have been around pets my entire life! Dogs, cats and birds! I unfortunately just had to put my dog down and I miss him everyday! I live in Waverly. I’m currently a stay at home mom and so I am able to be flexible in most cases. Evenings and weekends will be my most available times! I have two dogs of my own who are very used to new animals coming and going. I don’t have a fenced backyard, but do have tie outs or can leash walk any pets at my home. Every animal has different needs, so I will do my best to figure out what sleeping arrangements make them the most comfortable during their stay (I have kennels of every size so people do not need to bring theirs back and forth unless they prefer to). I’m well versed in methods of calming for pets that might be nervous. I do have a 6 month old infant at home who is very used to dogs, but any pets coming in to my home would need to be safe and comfortable around her.
