“Absolutely could not be happier or more grateful for Margarita and her family. The whole process was super easy and after the meet and greet I left feeling 100% confident that bubba would be in great hands. Then traveling back home from Sioux Falls, we get hammered by blizzard conditions. The last 20 miles before finally giving up, I could barely see the lines on the road, let alone any cars in front of me. So we pulled off and checked in to a hotel. Thankfully Margarita was SUPER understanding and reassuring. I was in a bit of a panic worrying about this and that, and the fact that Loki didn't have to be one of those worries was a huge relief. When we finally made it back the next day I could tell he wasn't super thrilled about leaving, which is always what you want to see. (And with that massive yard, I can't blame him!) Will definitely be "boarding" with her and her family again in the future! Super communicative with updates and photos to put our minds at ease.”

About: I’ve always loved dogs my entire life, having one since getting out of the hospital when I was 2. I work with dogs, have dog sit countless times, and currently have an 8 year old dog that I adore I am currently a college student on summer break meaning I have lots of time to care for pets, I love them and would do anything to make time for them! I always make sure there is nothing that the pet is able to get into that would harm them in any way. i also make sure the pet always feels safe with me and right at home

About: I have had pets my whole life that have lived in the house. We have dogs, cats, and even a lizard I have taken care of! I was home alone a lot so taking care of my animals is first priority and a habit. I am a college student and working a seasonal job so there is times to for me to show your pet some love and taken care of! I have no pets at our apartment but we do live close to some parks and our backyard has plenty grass to play in! There is room if your pet has to be crated as well!

About: I currently have the privilege of sharing my home with two cats: Phoenix, my 12-year-old senior queen, and Maize, my energetic 10-week-old kitten. I believe cats thrive when they have a safe, enriching environment that respects their individual personalities, so I've created spaces throughout my home with climbing opportunities, cozy hiding spots, window perches, and separate feeding areas to help them feel comfortable and secure. Phoenix is happiest when we are quietly existing next to each other. Phoenix has taught me the importance of patience, consistency and quality time in the trust building process. I have taken the time to allow her space to take the lead on the type of relationship she was willing to have with me. Like a lot of us, I didn't have background of the 10 years of life she had before coming to our home. Seeing her open up, create snuggle routines, engage in our daily conversations over wet food preparation, pay the cheese tax whenever she hears the bag, take belly up naps in the sun and slow blink back and forth while snuggling has been the most warm, authentic experience I have gotten to experience. She's my little soul cat. Caring for Maize is a little more hands-on. Before each meal, we have a short play session to satisfy his hunting instincts, followed by mealtime and either more play or quiet time depending on his energy level. Maize has been in new experience in caring for a kitten so young. We found Maize after he came running out of a corn field wide eyed and fill of cockleburs. It was never a question in my mind as to whether he would be the next member of our family, and now we are the proud parents of a 10-week-old, black kitten. It has been a completely new experience, but so incredibly rewarding. He has come from hiding behind the toilet and hissing at any movement, to demanding face to face nudges and kisses several times a day. It has been so fun to get to know this small, new little life that will create so many amazing memories for our family for years to come! Now, the admin side of kitten care has involved scooping litter boxes multiple times a day, keeping his space clean, and creating a schedule of healthy amounts of play and rest. I also regularly care for my friend’s cat, Remi. When her family is away, I visit several times throughout the day to make sure she's well cared for and has company. I love hiding her food around the house to provide her a little extra enrichment and always offer as many pets as she'll allow before she lets me know she's reached her limit and gets a little spicy. Every cat is different, and I genuinely enjoy getting to know each one's unique personality while respecting boundaries.

When I get him he is always a happy puppy and I can tell he is well taken care of. About: I recently transitioned from my role as an outpatient therapist to explore roles that allow me to be more emotionally and physically present in my own life. Throughout my career, I've been known for my warmth, patience, reliability, and ability to build trust. These qualities that naturally extend to the way I care for animals. I grew up in a home that was never without a pet whether it was birds, dogs, cats, etc. I learned from an early age what it means to provide a safe, loving, and enriching environment for animals of all kinds. Today, my own little family includes Phoenix, my wise 12-year-old cat and queen of the house, Gibson, my affectionate Golden Retriever, and Maize, my endlessly curious 10-week-old black kitten. Caring for them is one of the greatest joys in my life. I love everything from long walks and cuddle sessions to finding new enrichment activities and making sure they feel safe, happy, and deeply loved. I'll care for your pets with the same attentiveness, patience, and genuine love that I give my own. I'd be honored to be a small part of helping your pets feel comfortable, cared for, and loved while you're away! I have recently decided to transition from my previous role as an outpatient therapist and have plenty of time for visits and walks sprinkled throughout the day. I am available M-F from 7:00 AM- 3:00 PM for drop-in visits/walks/etc. I currently live in a two-story home with my three pets Phoenix (12-year-old cat), Gibson (9-year-old Golden Retriever) and Maize (10-week-old kitten). Each of my pets have aspects of our home set up to meet their individual needs, whether that is areas to climb, separate spaces for their food/water, windows to see the world through and full access to all the cozy spots. I love taking slow walks with Gibson, and allow him time to sniff and snoof whatever he pleases along the way. However, the weather in Minnesota is not always friendly for walks during the day. On these days I will often create enrichment activities for Gibson such as peanut butter/water "pupsicles", hiding kibble around the living room for him to sniff and find, peanut butter bones (when we are at a happy weight) and just overall pets and snuggles. As for my cats - Phoenix enjoys quality time most of all - so I try to carve out special time for us to exist in the same space, with pets as she pleases. She also enjoys playing with her wand toys, catnip in her cat tree or snoozing in one of her many enclosed beds or window hammocks. My 10-week-old kitten's (Maize) care involves more consistent responsibilities throughout the day/week. I play with him for a short time before his meals, feed him, offer some alone time or more play (depending on his energy level) and typically put him in his safe room for some time after this to rest. I repeat this three times a day, with the night play session being longer and more energized. I scoop the litter box morning, afternoon and evening. There are many days I have to clean his bottom, paws or space due to a poop fiasco - I have gotten good at making this quick and painless. I also spend a lot of my time redirecting and teaching the lesson "Fingers are not toys" (if you've had/have a kitten you understand). Overall, I do my best to create a safe, healthy and predictable environment for my little housemates!

Our bassets have a fenced in yard, but I’ve also lived with mixed breeds. My mixed breeds have been anywhere from smaller dogs to 100+ pounds! I understand that some pets are cautious around new people. When at work at my veterinary clinic, I take my time with dogs that are more shy. I want all pets I encounter to be my friend, and I know it can take longer with some pets.

About: I have grown up in a household full of rescue dogs of every breed and mix. In my neighborhood, neighbors have asked me the past few years to watch their dogs and even some cats. Need more activities to do on my days off. I usually will have 3 days off. I have my dog with me and know how important he is. He is home. About: I have grown up with two lovely pups in my house. I helped taking care of them and even helped in training our hunting dog! I love being around animals and especially dogs. I am currently a college student I go to school at the university of Minnesota state Mankato. I am majoring in sports management with a minor in marketing. Moving back to college means I’m away from my dog at home. I am not ready to commit to getting a dog of my own due to living in an apartment, but I wanted the opportunity to be around dogs. The whole process was super easy and after the meet and greet I left feeling 100% confident that bubba would be in great hands. Then traveling back home from Sioux Falls, we get hammered by blizzard conditions. The last 20 miles before finally giving up, I could barely see the lines on the road, let alone any cars in front of me. So we pulled off and checked in to a hotel. Thankfully Margarita was SUPER understanding and reassuring. I was in a bit of a panic worrying about this and that, and the fact that Loki didn't have to be one of those worries was a huge relief. When we finally made it back the next day I could tell he wasn't super thrilled about leaving, which is always what you want to see. (And with that massive yard, I can't blame him!) About: Hi! My name is Sage and I specialize in animal caretaking and welfare. I have lived my entire life with at least one animal in the house and I have been dog sitting on and off since high school. I am certified in three years of dog training and currently live with my lovely cat, London. I’ve never met a pet that I haven’t loved, and past employers would describe me as dependable, easy-going, and kind. My days are entirely open, except for the occasional one or two days a week where I am called in from one of my other jobs. I am also a full-time college student during the fall and winter time, but my summers are almost entirely clear. In my home, I live with my cat London, and four other housemates. If your animal stayed with me, they would never feel alone and would always have somebody in the house that can watch them or be there for all their needs. We have a lovely backyard full of grass, a back deck for lounging and sunbathing and a large neighborhood for daily walks. Your pet would feel like a king or queen in a castle! :)

About: I've intermittently assisted my sister at her pet grooming business over the past 10+years. This time is also when I started watching dogs for some of her clients and I then found clients of my own through word of mouth. I've stayed in people's homes with their pets, I've had pets stay at my home. I have experience with puppies to senior dogs, kittens to senior cats. I have experience with toy breeds to Giant breeds. Domestic felines to hybrid. I grew up on a farm and have been around animals my entire life livestock, wildlife and pets, I have a deep love and respect for them. I've always had a pet dog/cat or both.. currently both. My schedule is currently very open daily, weekly, weekends very flexible. I intend to prioritize pet care in hopes of building a good business base for the near future. Pets in my care get all the love and attention. Vet name and number, emergency contact, medications list needed... I have out door tie outs, a zip line tie out, out door kennel, 2 indoor kennels, I'll let your pet sleep in my bed if it's sad. I want the pets to always be as comfortable and stress free as possible, so whatever that looks like for them is what I'll provide.
