Over the past 15 years, we’ve shared our home with four dogs, including caring for three into their senior years through age-related and chronic health conditions. We’ve also raised a litter of puppies, giving us experience with young dogs and the extra patience, attention, and consistency they require. Because I work from home, your dog will receive plenty of supervision, companionship, and care throughout the day instead of being left alone for long periods. “Fantastic experience with Coddy and Byron! Our 1-ish year old Austrlian shepherd, Wes, stayed with them for a portion of July. Coddy and Byron were very responsive to messages, sent updates (and pictures/videos of Wes), and genuinely, thoughtfully incorporated Wes into their home for 2 weeks. Two weeks! We miscalculated Wes's food and, when it become apparent it would run out a few days before, Coddy and Byron rationed and mixed it with their own dogs' food in a way that didn't negatively affect Wes's digestion. If that's not top-tier dog watching, we really don't know what is. Would highly recommend and would book again!”

About: I have been pet sitting since I was 15 for family and friends. I have watched all types of dogs, large, small, young, and old as well as some cats. I am an active person that enjoys exercise but I also love nature so I can go at whatever speed your dog prefers. I am a graduate student at MSU so I keep a busy schedule, but I will always find time for your pets and treat them as my own! Although I am not certified I have trained my own dogs and can adjust to whatever level of obedience you are looking to attain. About: I’ve devoted my life to animals and taking care of them. I have prior experience in the veterinary field, doggy day cares, and have fostered many dogs over the years for various nonprofits. We live on a small farm and have chickens, quail, cats, rabbits, and kunekune pigs. We also have two dogs. Sylvia is a 12 year old Pit Bull terrier (who is a sweet and lovely advocate for the breed) and Aquila our fun loving 3 year old Icelandic sheepdog. Aquila and I compete in dog sports in our free time. I consider myself especially comfortable with nervous or fearful dogs. I’m currently a stay at home mom and my husband works from home as well, which allows me to have free time throughout the day to accommodate time slots for pet care. As far as boarding goes, one of us is almost always home. While we do not have a fenced yard, we use a long lead that provides lots of room for your dog to play but still be securely attached to me. Our 3 acres allows for walks in the woods and lots of sniffs around our farm animals. We only board one client at a time in our home because quality over quantity is very important to us. If you have a puppy you can expect any training to be ongoing with us and if desired, we can also do extra socialization and outings. Our two children, while very neutral and hands off, are excellent with dogs and are a great positive experience for puppies.

About: I have a very dog and cat friendly place to call home. Most days I am outside working around the property and the dogs are out with us. I’ve raised our dogs from 8 weeks old and the Labs are obedience trained and have taken their Canine Good Citizen class to hopefully be Therapy dogs soon. Our Pug is the youngest and raised by the Labs and of course, me. In the evenings it’s relax in the chair time. The dogs love to snuggle up and just nap after playing outside. I make my own work schedule and am able to fit work around pets. Usually only leaving the dogs for an errand run here and there. I go outside with all dogs and walk them on the property. I feed 2 times a day plus a snack or whatever is necessary for any visiting pet along with fresh water at all times. All pets have free range of the house day and night unless otherwise requested. I have an outdoor kennel for nice days if they need to be outside for a little while.

I am available mostly on Mondays through Fridays. So typically all weekday but I can work with you and work on weekends depending on the said request. Regarding trust and environment, I arrange meet and greets prior to bookings or scheduled dates with new clients to help your beloved pet become familiar with me and build trust naturally, reducing stress and fear when the time comes. I also stay within settings where your pet feels most comfortable, or I may take them to a nearby park to give your pet a chance to explore and enjoy. About: I’m knowledgeable in breed-specific needs and maintain consistency to keep them mentally and physically happy! I have previously taken dog behavior courses and am familiar with dog body language. I have worked with dogs of all sizes and ages! No dog is “too much!” I am comfortable with administering medications and providing grooming for long haired/high maintenance breeds. I have worked with puppies all the way up to senior dogs so I am comfortable handling all ages. I have a full-time job but am more than happy to fit time in to take care of your lovely fur baby. My typical shift is 8:00-4:30pm M-F. I have open availability on weekends to provide housesitting! If you are looking for constant care (pet cannot be left alone for 4 hours or more), I am happy to provide that however, I do charge a constant care rate if during the work week as I will need to take those days off and I will need to recoup lost salary. For constant care pets, I do require at least a month’s notice ahead of time so I can get that time off to accommodate. I will never take a sit if my work schedule cannot accommodate it—your pet’s care and safety is extremely important to me. I will work with you to decide if I am the right fit for your pet’s needs and routine. Nothing is worse than upsetting your pet’s routine and comfortability! I now offer drop-visits as well! This is great for people who might need someone to check in your fur baby a couple times a day but does not need around-the-clock needs. I am happy to drop in before work (8am) and can drop by after work! If you’re someone who works longer shifts, this is perfect for you! I am comfortable crating your pet if requested but they are also more than welcome to share a bed with me if they are used to sleeping with you! If you have an unfenced yard, I will keep them on leash at all times. If you have a fenced yard, I will stay out and monitor them until they are ready to come inside. Doors will be locked at all times whether I am in the home with your pet or if I’m at work. If you have any home-alarm systems, I will use them as well.

About: I had three rescue dogs of my own, two have since passed but we have taken my MILs dog since her passing so we have two dogs currently and three cats! “Fantastic experience with Coddy and Byron! Our 1-ish year old Austrlian shepherd, Wes, stayed with them for a portion of July. Coddy and Byron were very responsive to messages, sent updates (and pictures/videos of Wes), and genuinely, thoughtfully incorporated Wes into their home for 2 weeks. Two weeks! We miscalculated Wes's food and, when it become apparent it would run out a few days before, Coddy and Byron rationed and mixed it with their own dogs' food in a way that didn't negatively affect Wes's digestion. If that's not top-tier dog watching, we really don't know what is. Would highly recommend and would book again!”
