Allowing someone else to care for my dog in their home, was an uncomfortable concept to me. However, when I had a vacation scheduled, and my go-to dog boarding center was booked, Rover was the only option. About: Hi! My name is Audrey! I am a former nurse and used to take care of humans for a living but am pursuing a career change. I now take care of fur babies, but my 7 years of nursing experience has taught me patience, flexibility, and safety skills (as well as making me an expert at cleaning pee and poop). I've been a dog owner and taken care of dogs since I was 12 years old. I've had multiple dogs growing up and currently own my 10-year old Golden Shepherd Mix rescue, Maxx. It brings me so much joy and happiness to meet any and all dogs/cats and to give them love and attention they deserve. I volunteer at the Humane Society to help socialize those dogs and give them love but also to gain experience meeting as many dogs as possible to learn more on how to identify dog behavior/body language and how to gain their trust when meeting a new person. I also love taking fun pictures, so you will get lots of pictures of your fur baby while you're gone. I also work part time as a barista and will occasionally be working 4 to 8 hr shifts periodically throughout the week, but with enough notice, I can try to adjust my schedule to accommodate for you if your pet can't be alone for long periods of time. I can't imagine a life without having a fur baby, and I hope I get to help take care of yours! I work part time as a barista and my schedule changes every week with shifts varying from 4-8hrs long at a time. With enough notice (usually about 2-3 weeks ahead ideally), I can adjust my schedule to try and accommodate for you especially if your pet can't be alone for long periods of time. I'm willing and able to do any day of the week! I'm fairly flexible, so I'll do my best to get my schedule to work with yours. I live in a cozy 2-bedroom apartment with a lot of space to walk around the apartment complex. There is a fenced in dog runner at this complex too.

About: Life long animal person, from a young age I took care of farm animals like chickens, goats, pigs, sheep, cats. In my adult life i got a dog. I love working and learning with my dog. A few years ago I started volunteering and fostering through the Berrien county animal services. I truly love fostering and the difference it makes! I plan to foster for a long time. Always looking for opportunities to build community and knowledge around animals and people! I work part-time very close to home. I pride myself on prioritizing quality time to animals in my care. I have strict boundaries on the quality of care I want to provide so I do not take on more than I feel comfortable with. providing a safe emotional environment for your pets is my top priority I have a big yard with a small portion fenced in. I utilize the fenced in area for play and hanging out with dogs. I love hanging out with the pets inside also, I have raised beds set out in the house for relaxing and plenty of couches the dogs are welcome to enjoy. I use crates and gates in the house for peace of mind and relaxation when I am out of the house.

“When I came across Rover and what it was all about, I was positive that this would be a site I would never use. Allowing someone else to care for my dog in their home, was an uncomfortable concept to me. However, when I had a vacation scheduled, and my go-to dog boarding center was booked, Rover was the only option. Clara's name was mentioned to me by another Rover user who was not able to dog sit my exact dates needed. When I messaged Clara, she replied within 5 minutes saying "YES! I will take care of your dog." No questions asked. She lives about 30 minutes from where I am located in Kzoo, but trust me when I say she is worth the drive. Her house is immaculate, and she has other wonderful pups, a horse and great fenced in greenspace outside. We received pictures and a brief summary of our dog every day. Throughout my vacation, I never worried once about my dog. Clara's first impression made me feel like my dog was immediately apart of her pack. I 1000% recommend Clara for boarding.”
