Currently, we have a 2-yr old Bernese mountain dog and an older cat at home. I’m a teacher with a very open availability during summer and would love to fill it with taking care of your dogs - any breed but happy to provide confidence for high energy larger breeds. I’m a full-time teacher, so if you’re booking during the summer my availability is pretty widely open to meet your pets needs. If it’s during the school year, the weekends are there for loving your pet. I love to walk and exercise and am happy to take your dog for long walks as needed. Alternatively if they’re at my house, they can play with our Bernese Mountain Dog in the backyard for endless hours! Our yard is fenced in and the gates are always locked.

About: I love all kinds of animals! I have a pointer/lab mix and mini dauschund of my own, and they are my tag alongs for all sorts of adventures! I also had a variety of frogs, lizards, hamsters, guinea pigs when I was growing up. Most notably, my bearded dragon Cricket who lived to be 16 years old! Additionally, I have experience pet-sitting and dog walking for family members as well as friends and neighbors. I have helped friends with their chickens and other farm animals as well! About: I have been around animals since a very young age. I grew up having to care for my dogs, cats, horses, cows, and sheep! I participated in 4-H for 10 years showing both cattle and sheep. Throughout high school and college I worked at a doggy day care, that cared for both cats and dogs, either for day visits or overnight stays. I was responsible for making sure the animals were as comfortable as possible. This involved cleaning their kennels daily, feeding, and medications. Later, I worked as a veterinary assistant for 6 months. I have house/dog and cat sat for various friends and family members throughout the years as well. I am very flexible! I am more than happy to stay at your home while pet sitting or simply come by to care for the pet a couple times a day. Open to working with you to figure out the best solution for your pet. Unfortunately my current lease does not allow pets. I am more than happy to work with you and figure out a schedule/plan that would fit your needs! We have several resident pets on the farm: 20 sheep, 2 mini donkeys, chickens and one beloved mutt. Our regular routine involves a 1 mi walk in the am and pm with lots of other opportunities throughout the day for supervised fresh air or playtime in one of our fenced 1 acre pastures. Safe and secure, a ball lovers paradise! I’m comfortable treating your pet as my own with specialized treatment or care as needed. We have 2 respectful preteen boys in the household so kid friendly dogs are an absolute must.

About: I have helped owners with dog sitting/walking in the Traverse City area. I've had my dog and cat business for 5+ years and I spend my time with special dogs and cats during the day, overnights or on weekends. I cared for my two dogs until they passed away. Now I have time to devote to other pets who need my support. I have time in my life to care for your lovely dogs, walking them during the week and watching them for overnights on the weekends As my yard is not fenced in, I prefer to go to clients home to help out. I have a reliable vehicle and could come and visit
“Margalina, Joshua and their daughter were wonderful caretakers of our maltipoo for two weeks. I got adorable photos every day and regular communication about all the fun he was having becoming a farm dog (lots of great exercise). This was a last minute booking but we could not have been luckier. Our dog is a very social one but also clingy to his main caretaker, and Margalina quickly because that person! We will definitely use them again and can’t recommend them highly enough.”
