About: I have have had dogs and cats my whole life and have always loved them and wanted to work with animals since I was little. I have had pets as young as 4 weeks old to 18 years old, but I am comfortable working with all aged pets. I currently have three cats, Sadia, Mr. Orange and Oakley. I have had Sadia since she was a kitten and is almost 6 now. And the two boys I rescued within the past 6 months from being street cats and have fit so perfectly into our home. They are so sweet and friendly and great with my daughter Mila. About: I am an experienced foster animal caregiver, and a teacher. I offer a totally open schedule during the summer and on weekends. I’ve taken care of animals since a young age; I’ve personally had, kittens, cats, dogs, puppies, chickens, fish, and hamsters too. I have experience in crate training, potty training, basic obedience and leash training as well. Currently I have a male Golden Retriever in my home who is not neutered due to breed standards- he will be as soon as he is old enough, and he is up to date on all his vaccines and shots. He is well mannered and loves all animals- we have hosted puppies and dogs through the foster rescue and all were successful :) I am currently a teacher, so my weekends and “breaks” are fully open; beginning in June will be home full time! I wake up pretty early and like to spend time in the backyard with my resident doggie and any fosters I have playing with toys, balls, or sticks. Then I move into a short training session based on what the pups need- if it’s just my resident dog I usually work on a new command or leash skills. We head inside and usually it’s nap time (where the pups can relax on the couch if they want)! After naps or relaxing time we go back outside for more playtime, or go for a walk and repeat throughout the day. I have a 1/2 acre fenced in backyard and a very friendly/playful golden retriever pup to keep your doggies company. I do have a separate “doggie room” which has crates, beds, toys, etc on hand just in case the pup needs a break or some adjustment time- and in there we have extra collars and leashes. We have two baby gates that block of the bathroom and front door area so the doggies don’t get into cleaning supplies or slip out the front door :)

My parents started me as a volunteer with a dog rescue around 10 years old, and I have never looked back! I am now a licensed vet tech and help friends and family with dog behavior issues, dog walking and drop in visits and also kitty visits including nail trims! Meet my pets Chicago is a 4 year old playful husky mix who enjoys sunbathing and meeting new friends, About my yard I have a completely fenced in chain link backyard. We have had a history of escape artists with our own dogs so some parts are very tall and reinforced! No toxic plants or pesticides used in our back yard either! My experience administering medication Absolutely. ---- vet tech here! LoL We took a break from sitting for a while when our dogs became seniors. We now have a dog that enjoys having friends over again! I also offer drop in services and would love to take your dog for a short walk, training walk or play time in the backyard if you need it! If your dog is staying in my home I would likely be here the entire time. I do require dogs are able to stay in a crate or a secure gated room when alone so the dog are separated when unsupervised.

I have cared for and fostered dozens of dogs throughout my life, and absolutely love large dogs and bully breeds! I have also fostered and cared for hundreds of adult cats, kittens, and geriatric felines. I am a major proponent of positive reinforcement, and will not ever work with any kind of negative reinforcement or punishment based training. I am comfortable with some clicker and reward based training as well should you want to work on a few things with your dog and/or cat (I've trained a few cats to do tricks, too!) I am experienced in administering a variety of medications. I have three cats of my own ranging from 15-years-old to 2-years-old, and a 5-year-old 65lb pitty. Ask me anything! I truly cannot wait to meet your furry family members! My job allows me an immense amount of flexibility as well as being remote so I have lots of time for your baby! I can provide multiple check ins a day during the week or weekend. Although I do not bring clients into my home, I care for them in their comfortable home environment however they are most comfortable. It's important I maintain their routines and help them to feel safe and secure. For cats this includes dedicated toy time and snuggles, and for dogs it includes supervised yard time or walkies!

In February of this year I got into a horrible accident and didn’t wake up for two days, I lived alone and my dog didn’t have anyone, I woke up in the ICU and Samantha was the first one I got a hold of knowing she had a key. She showed and saved my dogs life, my keys were lost in the accident and I had no way to get home. She safely got the key to my family and Obsidian is safe and healthy with me traveling across the United States and happier then ever. I couldn’t thank her enough for being that reliable. About: With 16 years of hands-on experience, I specialize in the pets who need a little extra: seniors, anxious or reactive dogs, and pets on medication schedules (oral and injectable). I’m an approved foster parent with Almost Home Animal Rescue, where I’ve cared for dogs with special needs, helped shy and fearful pups come out of their shells, and managed multi-dog households with conflict, including food-aggressive and territorial dogs. I’ve trained puppies, nursed blind senior dogs through their golden years, and treat every pet in my care exactly as I would my own two dogs at home. I’m equally comfortable with cats. I grew up with them, have cared for 5+ over the years, and even rescued a kitten from my previous neighborhood. I’m currently working part time while I am in graduate school and my partner currently works from home most days so my schedule is very flexible for care. I am available weekdays except for Friday afternoons and Saturday mornings, as I coach a dance team during that time. We currently reside in a house in Farmington Hills with a huge fenced in backyard. The house has been puppy proofed as we approved foster parents with Almost Home Animal Rescue. When caring for a new pet, I always make sure to give them a comfortable and positive experience with me.
“Brit did a good job walking my 130 pound American Akita named Apollo. Apollo walks good on a leash, but if he sees a squirrel he may pull. Today Brit was able to teach me something new. Today I learned when he pulls to bend my arm to get more control. Brit has lots of experience with dogs, even large breeds. Would def book her to walk him again.”
