About: Hey guys! I'm just a Midwest girl living in my Midwest world! I have the typical Veteran husband and one of our three kids still living at home! We have a 7 pound Chihuahua and two kittens who are the current rulers of the home. I bring a professional, hands-on background to every dog I care for, shaped by my experience supporting K9 work in the military and training dogs across a wide range of needs. From guiding young puppies through early obedience and socialization to reinforcing structure and confidence in adult dogs, I focus on calm, consistent, and respectful handling. My approach blends proven training principles with genuine affection—clear communication, routine, and trust, paired with plenty of attention and care. On our private 20-acre property, dogs have the space to decompress, explore safely, and enjoy a peaceful environment while still receiving individualized guidance and close supervision. While we do have 20 acres that we can walk through we also have a fenced in area and GPS Fence collars for your dog to use. Depending on the training your dog has been through we can work with you to see what fits best. I am a full time mom who homeschools her kid. My husband is home part time so most of the time we are home if not pup will be crated. I have a fenced in yard and a pet safe GPS collar for the pups. So no matter what the pup will be secured. There is no gate to leave the fenced in area so to leave you have to go through the house.

About: I currently work at Little Traverse Bat Humane Society where I am an animal caregiver! I work alongside cats and dogs, but I spend a lot of time with cats! I’ve been exposed to many different temperaments, needs, and medical. Working at the shelter has given me a ton of experience and confident with being able to work with all ages and types of cats. I have grown up with cats all of my life. I currently have one cat named Charlie. He is the light of my life.
“Maddy was fantastic. She went above and beyond to check on our cat while we were out of town. You can tell she clearly cares about the animals she’s responsible for. We will certainly be reaching out to her again next time we are going out of town. We can’t recommend her enough.”

“This was our second time having Dawn do drop in visits with our cats. I appreciate all the photos, especially of them all playing. Dawn went above and beyond on this booking - when she went downstairs to the basement for the litter boxes the morning after a bad storm, she discovered our basement was flooded. She called us right away and offered to get a box and some litter for our cats which was greatly appreciated. It's clear that Dawn's first priority is our cats, and that makes her a wonderful sitter.”

“Dorothy is great with my 1 yr. old puppy. She is patient but consistent with dealing with his puppy energy and lack of focus. I can tell he enjoys being with her. Thank you, Dorothy!”

“Peter communicated promptly about pre-scheduled arrangements and Cora felt very comfortable and happy while with him. His house is located on a beautiful street with old trees alley close by the beaches. We appreciated his last minute availability and will be glad to request dog care again in the future.”

“This is our first time using Rover. It was an outstanding experience. Our initial inquiry was answered quickly. My conversation with Christine allowed me to feel this was a good fit for our dog Rio. The communication was excellent and more than I expected. I received texts, photos and a video. Rio was living his best life today. He got to play with another dog, go for walks and a swim. He is sleeping now after a fun filled day. I highly recommend you book with Christine. I love to shop in Petoskey so I know will be back.”

About: Not only have I grown up with pets my whole life, I have made a living out of taking care of them. It was my calling as a young child to become a Veterinarian. I started Pet Well Mobile Vet, the area's only mobile veterinary service, in 2021 to help bring a better level of quality to pet care after seeing how much more relaxed my friend's pets were when I took care of them in their homes. Building that bond through pet sitting is much the same thing. Pets get individualized care and you get peace of mind. As the mobile veterinarian, I can schedule my days as needed. I have the flexibility to do mid-day meals or walk, if needed. I'm almost always done working by 6pm to make sure everyone gets dinner on time and then some evening playtime. All pets will be cared for as if they are my own. I encourage pet parents to write up the normal routine for their baby so I can stick to it as much as possible. I love to send pictures and updates. (I would want them if the roles were reversed.) I also have the ability to care for medical issues that arise during the stay, only with the pet parent's permission of course.
About: I have worked with a lot of high energy dogs so I understand and am willing to do the work that is needed for them. I have also worked with dogs that have had traumatic pasts and have spent time working with them to trust their environment and other people. I am a teacher so I have summers off and weekends free. I am also free after school for those last minute date nights and outings. I have two high energy black labs so I am used to dogs that need long walks and lots of stimulation. I am very comfortable around big dogs as mine are both 80 lbs. I prioritize trust and comfort for the dogs I care for. I work to build a strong bond with dogs I work with in order for both of us to have a good time.
