“We were lucky enough to find Heidi for our two dogs while we were in Portland for a weekend wedding. From the beginning Heidi was responsive and easy to book. She went above and beyond for our dogs during their stay with her. We were very nervous for one of our dogs who has developed new stranger reactivity and from the get go Heidi was calm, patient and kind, within 3 minutes they were best friends. She was also excellent with our other dog who is recovering from an injury. “Connor was great with our dog Bolt! This was our first time going through the app, she made it very easy. We were bringing Bolt to a boarding place nearby but would always feel very on edge and worrying while on vacation. He would come home from the boarding place and his elbows were very rough and red and he would be so thirsty. I picked him up from Connor and he was fine, like he never left home. He was a little tired but that’s to be expected going to a new place. Connor’s house was clean and she has a very nice yard and large covered porch she sat under with him. She was easy to communicate with and flexible. As soon as I met her and she met my dog, I knew we were going to be good! I plan to bring him to her again soon and will continue to for as long as I can!”
“I'm only hours home from my trip, but made it my first priority after unpacking to review my experience with Trisha and Dan, who "pet-sat" our dog Piper this weekend. Piper is attached at the hip to my wife. He was a dog that was found abandoned on the street, abused, and has a bit of what we think us PTSD. He gets VERY nervous if you are not right at his side, cannot stay alone, etc. Unfortunately my cousin suddenly passed away and were needed a dog sitter so we could attend services out of state. Very nervous that it would be hard on Piper to be without us, (and knowing we couldn't put him a kennel-type environment with his anxious personality), we spent hours on DogVacay looking for the perfect host. Trisha got back to us within minutes (talk about professional!). She was so awesome and detailed, and we knew right then that Piper would be in good hands. Piper stayed with Trish and her husband in their gorgeous home in a safe, quiet neighborhood (with a fenced in backyard) for 2 days, and they were excellent at communicating with his. They're such good people- so kind and friendly and love animals. Piper is now home (though I'm not sure he wants to be!) I've said jokingly "Piper- Do you want to go back to Trisha, Dan, and Stout's house?" and his ears perk up and the tail starts wagging. They are the best of the best, and I cannot recommend them highly enough. We are forever grateful to them for taking Piper on such short notice and taking such good care of him!”

She was clear, always very nice, calming, and she checked to be sure that my dog, Frances, had a temperament which did not object to the presence of her, evidently mellow, two dogs and one cat—she was just very good at customer service. I felt very secure with my dog staying in her (and her husband’s) care. She (and they) obviously knows and cares for dogs. I had useful feedback from the visit (my dog was fine with her cat—(and dogs)—though she has had very little exposure to cats—so it appears vibes are what count with Frances. ) Hannah was friendly even when I changed my time plans on the actual day, oh-so-gently informing me she would definitely modify whenever she could, but she was dealing as well with other customers’ sometimes conflicting schedules. She was very good!”

About: I have always had dogs but am currently without one after my 16-year-old golden retriever passed away. I am comfortable working with dogs of all ages, and understand how their needs, routines and personalities change throughout their lives. I live in a quiet community with beach access a short walk away. If you have a pup that loves to swim, go on adventures or walks, or simply spend time outside, I would be a great fit. While your away, you can be sure they too are enjoying a mini vacation. I can work from home so your dog will not be lonely during the day. There are some days I may not be home all day, but I will be sure to give them plenty of exercise with time to run, play or swim in the mornings, afternoons and evenings. I also have a life jacket for those dogs who are not strong swimmers or who may want a little extra support in the water. I've not crated any of my dogs, but if you are more comfortable with crating, I can accommodate that if you bring yours. I do not have a fenced in yard, but I do have a small side yard, access to trails and a beach so they will get plenty of time outside.

About: I have had pets my whole life and have been pet sitting for the past five years. I have come to know these pets that I have watched as family members, but have since moved back to California! I have experience with cats and dogs, both my own, and other people that I have watched as well as a few bunnies and even some rats! I am happy to help with cleaning around the house or small gardening activities if necessary during longer trips or anything else that might be necessary for someone to have a comfortable vacation! I hope I can be your go to pet sitter for years to come! I just moved back to the area so I have a part-time job at a winery till about 6 pm on Fridays and Saturdays, but can work around that (just ask!) or any other day of the week! I love making pets feel comfortable and sticking to their given routine. I feel that when the parents are out of town, it can be stressful so keeping things as normal as possible is incredibly important! It’s great to go on walks for dogs and just to have some time lounging around for cats playing with one of their toys. I have 4 dogs of my own, ranging from 3 years - 8 years. The smallest being a silly frenchie and the largest is a malinois. About: When I’m not boarding, walking, or doing doggy daycare I’m hanging out with my kiddos. Do you want to FaceTime your dog while they are with me? Not a problem, call whenever. I will send pictures and updates throughout the day for you so you know they are okay. “Jeanne took amazing care of our two terriers, Shannie and Wesley. She has a beautiful farm with a large fenced-in area in the backyard for the dogs to play. She also takes them into the barn and on walks, so the dogs never got bored. Jeanne was very responsive, accommodating, and sent lots of photos during the week that she had the dogs. When we picked up Shannie and Wesley, they were healthy, happy, full of energy — it was obvious they'd enjoyed the farm and Jeanne's company, as they were not in any hurry to leave. “Our energetic Maddie had a great stay with Tony. We always try to board her with people that have other dogs so she can play and make friends. Tony had her alone, but still managed to get her walking and running off leash in a fenced in yard and kept her happy. He was very good about reaching out and sending pictures during her stay which is very reassuring. Not enough Rover people do that! Tony is highly recommended!”
“We were lucky enough to find Heidi for our two dogs while we were in Portland for a weekend wedding. From the beginning Heidi was responsive and easy to book. She went above and beyond for our dogs during their stay with her. We were very nervous for one of our dogs who has developed new stranger reactivity and from the get go Heidi was calm, patient and kind, within 3 minutes they were best friends. She was also excellent with our other dog who is recovering from an injury. Needless to say we had an excellent experience and were able to truly enjoy our weekend knowing our pups were in good hands with Heidi.”
“Connor was great with our dog Bolt! This was our first time going through the app, she made it very easy. We were bringing Bolt to a boarding place nearby but would always feel very on edge and worrying while on vacation. He would come home from the boarding place and his elbows were very rough and red and he would be so thirsty. I picked him up from Connor and he was fine, like he never left home. He was a little tired but that’s to be expected going to a new place. Connor’s house was clean and she has a very nice yard and large covered porch she sat under with him. She was easy to communicate with and flexible. As soon as I met her and she met my dog, I knew we were going to be good! I plan to bring him to her again soon and will continue to for as long as I can!”
