About: I raised, trained, and cared for my family dog from a puppy when I was in high school. Post college I adopted a senior dog and cared for him for the last couple of years of his life. In the meantime I have been a sitter for friends and family dogs and cats over the years. I am used to giving medications (even when it needs to be disguised) and staying on a feeding schedules. I am very up for caring for senior dogs who want to lay around the house, and equally ready to go on long walks with a dog with more energy. I work from home always, so will be around during the day for pups who like to hang! I'm on the East End of Portland with the Eastern Prom very close by so plenty of places to walk and explore. I am usually out and about in the evenings for a few hours at a time. On the weekends I like to be busy, but can certainly adjust my time when I have a dog or cat around. I have a large one bedroom, and am on the 3rd floor. So my place is likely not good for pets with mobility issues (unless they are small enough that I can carry them). I live very close to lots of nature easily accessible and make a point to get outside often.

I certainly felt better about leaving her there because she didn't seem as anxious as she was the first time we visited. Also, Nova is the only animal in our household and she "rules the roost," so I was glad that she had other canine company. Natalie sent texts and photos to me while I was away and Nova looked alert, calm, and content. I really appreciated getting little messages about Nova and answering any questions Natalie may have had. While I did think about Nova a lot during the weekend (we've had her all her life and she's 9 now), I did not worry about her. I felt she was safe, looked after, and treated kindly.
