We met at a halfway point for drop off and she returned the dog to us at the port in downtown Bar Harbor. She could not have been more accommodating aa our boat was a little bit late getting back into port. She is very nice and seems to genuinely care about the animals she watches. About: I’ve been known as a dog whisperer by family, dogs love me and I love dogs. I have raised 3 and owned 4 since the age of 12. I have grown a love for the animal and everything about them. Going on daily walks and making sure my pets always are paid attention too are my top priorities. Moving about to Maine I have found a love for cats the same I have for dogs. Cats were always misinterpreted in my family growing up. We never had one in the house and so I was hesitant in how I could live with 3 of them when moving out. That hesitation disappeared when I moved up here in 2024. I love cats as much as I do dogs now when I discovered they can be just as cuddly and playful, if not more, than dogs! Working part time my schedule is very flexible. Latest I’m available ranges each week. As long as I get some kind of message on what’s good for you I’m sure I can squeeze your pet in! I go off what the pet wants and how we can work around that so that I can provide my best care. Each dog is different so their dislikes and likes are something that needs to be expressed.

About: I’ve taken care of many dogs in my neighborhood. Various tasks such as, dog sitting full time, or just taking on a short walk and feeding dinner. I’m a full time student, but I have a lot of free time in my schedule during the week and weekends. I love all dogs and work very well with them! I do not have the space to care for dogs, but I am comfortable in other owners homes, and I am very comfortable with any dog that I meet.

About: I've been providing neighborhood pet care since I was 11. Short walkies with tiny terriers, long trails with Labrador retrievers, dog parks, training exercises, puzzle feeders, I've done it and enjoyed it all. I like to make friends with our canine companions, and help them feel safe and secure in the absence of their favorite human(s). I have experience giving pills and administering daily shots, like insulin. I work remotely, so my time is freauently on my own schedule and at my own pace. Having an animal to care for is an added bonus that is easy to work around, and forces me to remember my exercise! Dogs staying at my house get 2 longer walks and a shorter walk per day, depending on age, energy, and ability of the dog. I also try to incorporate a special enrichment activity every day. Example: dog park, trail, swimming, long play/training session, suited to the dog's interests and abilities. The dog's space in my house is also where I work, so I spend a lot of time hanging out with your dog. At your house, I'll ask for their favorite toy or play routine, to keep their space consistent until you come back. I love to put on an audiobook and take dogs on a "sniff walk" where they can just sniff to their heart's content, such great enrichment for their strong noses.

About: I have cared for the dogs and cats of family members, friends and coworkers when needed, for years. I personally have a dog and cat. My dog is a sweet boy but he is reactive to other dogs. Before him I had never worked with/known a dog that has reactive tendencies. I have learned a lot over the last 7-8 years about reactivity, especially dogs being reactive towards other dogs. I have cared for as many as three dogs and three cats at a time including puppies and senior dogs. I currently work full time but have developed a good schedule for when I do check in/drop ins for those I pet sit for. If someone is out of town and leaving their pets at home for a check in/drop-in schedule I would typically drop in, in the morning before work, around lunch time, around dinner time and again before bed if the owner requests. I have recently cared for three dogs and a cat for almost two weeks for a coworker and this schedule worked well. I will adhere to any instructions that a pet owner provides. I will make sure that the animals are well cared for and report any concerns I may have for the pets while caring for them. Whether it is a drop in to let a dog out to go to the bathroom at lunch time, walking a dog, feeding the pets, etc.
About: I grew up on a farm with horses, pigs, sheep, cows, a dog and a cat. I particpated at a young age taking care of them (feeding, brushing, removing manure). About: I've always had dogs or cats as pets. I currently have 2 dogs now. Dashy is 16 year old Dashhound who was severely neglected and abandoned at 13 and Beau now 8 is a Rat Terrier mix adopted as a puppy. Both boys are very friendly, happy, healthy and quite spoiled. I also have my Pet CPR & First Aid cert from Red Cross as well as some behavioral training. I work best senior, handicapped and terminally ill pets though the fee may change depending of medical need. I'm retired and I have full daily availability from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. and some night time availability as well as overnights. Overnight rates are based on 1, 12 block of time. I have a fenced/blocked back yard, another fur baby and plenty of room for them to play. Grass, gazebo and lawn Charis for them! The inside is spacious, has AC and safe for dogs and dog friendly cats.
About: I've been taking care of cats as long as I can remember. I don't currently have a dog but I frequently take care of my aunt's Great Pyrenees and I've taken care of many other dogs. I have a very flexible schedule and I'm free any day of the week for sitting. I would be happy to take care of any kind of dog or cat. Your pet will be safe in my care, as I have the time to keep my eyes on them and make sure they're both happy and healthy during their stay with me. I will be able to follow the feeding schedule/routine that is given to me for the pet and I will never ever give any pet food (outside of what's packed for them) or treats without explicit permission from the owner first unless prior permission is given (such as treats being packed for the pet in my care).

About: As a pet lover for my entire life, I am very open to who I will take in. I have taken care of my family’s dogs and cats. As well as friends’ pets as well. Not just our small pets. I worked on my family farm in the middle of Maine near Dover-Foxcroft. That included Horses, chickens, occasionally some cows and donkeys. I would love to take care of your pets for whenever you need me to. Just give me any details about them. Medical, whether they are in heat, spayed or neutered. However, when checking in or walking pups I do make sure water bowl is filled if I notice it’s low and I make sure to bring a pop up water bowl on long walks in the summer.

“We contacted Karen about watching our dogs we while we went whale watching. She was very easy to work with and very accommodating. She had our dog from 1 pm until 8 pm. We met at a halfway point for drop off and she returned the dog to us at the port in downtown Bar Harbor. She could not have been more accommodating aa our boat was a little bit late getting back into port. She is very nice and seems to genuinely care about the animals she watches. She sent me pictures throughout the day and text message updates. I would definitely recommend Karen and I would use her again. You do not need to have any worries about leaving your pet in her care. About: I have two labs, one is six years old and the second is six months old. People have trusted me to take care of their dogs for years and I love being around animals. I currently work full-time from home and I’m outside with my dogs every day playing! pet care is a necessity for me as my world revolves around my girls. I have two labs that are very friendly and playful, I also have the ability to crate dogs as well. I used to work in clients homes so I have a vast understanding of the necessity to keep your home safe and well cared for. About: I provide calm, reliable care in a quite setting. I have plenty of fenced in outdoor space for dogs to explore and get exercise. I will make sure they feel at home and well cared for. Relaxing or active your pet will enjoy their stay. I currently work as a B&B host in the summers, leaving my winters, fully open schedule wise. Hosting for over four years so I know how to make sure you get a five star experience. We have a fenced yard hard floors, dog kennels, and everything a dog would need. I have a golden retriever named Sadie, who is very sociable goes to the dog park super friendly. I work for myself managing properties and are able to bring any pets with me to job sites if needed.
