“When I picked up Jackson, I was not sure he wanted to leave his vacation with Kathryn and her wonderful family! Sure he was excited to see us, but, then he laid down next to Kathryn as if he was feeling pretty comfortable at her home! She sent photos and write ups daily and this made me feel so much better about leaving him in her care. It was like he knew the family forever! This was the first time we went away without him in 8 years so I was a bit anxious about leaving. I would have no problems leaving him again if I have another opportunity to do so. I highly recommend Kathryn and I know he was very happy being there and well cared for. He enjoyed his daily walks and never missed a meal and perhaps, Me!!!! About: My cat care experience is much less varied than my dog care experience, but I've still had plenty of experience. Both the kennel and humane society I worked at had cats. I lived with 7 cats and took care of them often. A smaller experience would be the campus cats that my college has that will approach me if they're our and about!

About: I worked at an animal hospital for 5 years as a technician. I assisted in every aspect of care, including surgery, pharmacology, nutrition, wound care, and behavior. At our small clinic, we were taught how to work alone with many different temperaments and how to safely navigate anxious dogs. As a part of my training, our hospital was also Fear Free Accreditied, meaning that I was trained specifically on how to reduce fear and stress in scary environments. I believe most animals are not aggressive, only afraid and need patience. I work from home 7-4 Monday through Friday. This would be in addition to my current job. I would not be able to stay at homes for long periods or overnight unless it is a weekend. I always stick to feeding times and walks. This helps keep the anxiety level down as the schedule has not been interrupted. I offer full medical services as well as long as you do not need to be licensed by the state to perform it. I can do procedures such as bandage changes, nail trims, subcutaneous injections/fluids, IV fluid maintenance as long as an IV catheter is present, mat shaving (definitely not a groomer), ear/eye medications and medicated baths. About: My time working a the trading and boarding kennel had allowed me to handle sometimes over a 100 dogs in a day, each one with different personalities and needs. Each time I would take them on their potty breaks I would make sure to lavish them in attention and play chase if they felt inclined. I also have monitored up to 10+ dogs together in group play, being very careful to watch behavior and know when a dog has had too much or needs a better playmate. I am also an experienced feeder that can create highly individualized meals and medicate dogs through pilling or hiding meds in food/treats. This also includes non-oral meds like ear and eyes drops as well as topicals. Before the kennel, I walked many neighborhood dogs, taking them for long 30+minute walks and ensuring they were fed and had water. I would stay and give them attention after their walks to keep them company if I was not spending the night. I have experience in using E-collar and commands as well. I mostly used commands for feeding purposes but I can also use them to stop bad behavior. Injuries can also occur not matter how careful one is, be it a broken nail, ear inflections, or cuts and scrapes. I have experienced this many times at the kennel and am apt at tending to said injuries should they occur. I’m currently between jobs and while applying to new ones I have all the time in the world to see your babies! No matter the time, my attention is theirs. I work hard to slowly build trust with nervous dogs and give them all play time, pets, and treats (owner approved of course). If there are any special needs, like age or aggression, I take extra care to ensure everyone and dog is safe and secure around me.

I have done pet sitting and fostering for families, friends and a dog rescue organization. My husband and I are passionate dog lovers with 30 years of experience caring for dogs of all sizes and ages. I'm reliable, responsible, and dedicated to providing a safe and loving environment for your furry family member. I’ve always been drawn to dogs and spent years volunteering for a dog rescue organization where I gained valuable experience in caring for dogs with a variety of needs. My husband volunteered with me and together we made several trips down south in a large van to rescue puppies from puppy mills or older dogs scheduled to be euthanized for sitting in shelter too long. I offer in-home pet sitting, dog walking, and drop-ins, and I'm happy to administer medication, provide playtime, and ensure your dog's comfort and well-being. I have a strong understanding of dog behavior and am happy to provide personalized care based on your dog's individual needs. My hasband and I are both home every day. I am available to care for dogs day or night. We are very active and include dogs in our daily life along the Potomac River. Spending time in the yard and walking around the neighborhood are part of my daily routine. My home is pet friendly with a large, fenced yard. Dogs are treated as family members.
