I was sent updates and photos throughout my time away. Her yard is crazy big and beautiful and fenced in. My dog LOVED it! She was able to accommodate my daughter’s cat at the same time last minute. I felt so secure knowing they were being well taken care of while I was gone. Cat had her little cat tower and pictures of the cat by the glass door able to look outside and see everything. “This was our second time leaving our furbabies with Gail and Kris, as we knew our doggos would be in good hands. Just like last time, G&K went above and beyond for our dogs’ wellbeing. They walked our dogs 4 times a day through a safe wooded area with lakes that our dogs really enjoyed exploring. It gave them plenty of physical and mental stimulation. G&K made sure to capture these precious moments in the most gorgeous pictures and videos that kept our hearts warm throughout our 2-week trip. As this was summertime, G&K also made sure our furbabies were kept nice and cool, including with ice cubes in their water bowls after walks as needed. G&K also taught them important skills and routines, which we really appreciate. They came home to us extra well-behaved and relaxed. And when we picked them up, they came home extra fresh and fluffy after a bath and blow dry from their favorite spare hoomans. 🥰 And when at one point our dogs refused to eat their regular food, G&K prepared healthy and yummy homemade meals for several days — after first checking with us, of course! It’s impossible to state in words how much dedication and diligence G&K do to keep our dogs safe, well-fed and happy.”

I have been fostering since 2017 and have successful adopted out 11 dogs through Fetch WI rescue and Lucky Dog Animal Rescue in DC. •• MY CARE APPROACH •• I aim to always provide high-quality and safe care by hosting AT MOST 2 dogs at a time (in addition to my resident dog, Kona). This is especially important to us as we know how crowded boarding facilities can be (AND sometimes sitters’ homes) and the stress this can cause on dogs. My goal is to be able to provide constant and undivided attention to your pup while in my home. I also require meet & greets before booking to ensure your dog is comfortable with mine. After booking, I still ensure that all dogs get properly introduced to each other (first outside on a leash, then through a gate barrier, and finally without barriers). As an experienced foster parent, safety will always be my top priority. You can expect to get an immediate update to how your pup is settling in after drop off and daily after that. You won’t have to wait around for updates. I have a mellow 5 year old resident dog who loves to play if your pup is interested. Otherwise she pretty much minds her own business. She is a St. Bernard and Blackmouth cur mix who is very gentle and has had a lot of exposure to dogs of varying temperaments through fostering. She can’t wait to meet you pup!
“Shadid is amazing! It was my first time using Rover and I was nervous about leaving my puppy, Rudy, with someone else. From the moment we met Shadid, she was great with Rudy. I was concerned about Rudy getting anxious and being difficult to manage. I realized quickly that I had nothing to worry about with Shadid. Rudy was immediately comfortable with her. I don’t think he even noticed me leave because he was so excited to hang out with Shadid & Pebbles all day. Throughout the day, I received pictures of Rudy at the park and playing. It felt great knowing that Rudy was in good hands and having an amazing day. When I picked Rudy up, he was sad to leave! Rudy can be challenging and usually takes a while to warm up to people, so I was extremely impressed by Shadid’s ability to care for dogs. I would absolutely be comfortable leaving Rudy with Shadid again and am so grateful that I found her. If you love your dog and don’t know which sitter will be best, contact Shadid!! Your dog will have the best day and you’ll feel great knowing he/she is in good hands! From a professional standpoint, Shadid is excellent. I’m in medical school and was taking an exam during Rudy’s stay, so it was important to me that the sitter be professional. Shadid was perfect. She responds quickly and is completely reliable. Winky can be super shy at first, so I always get nervous leaving him with someone new, but he got comfortable with Huey so quickly it was amazing! She has two super friendly dogs of her own(a little bichon and a corgi), and they got along so well with Winky which is awesome. She also sent me updates and photos during the stay and it looked like he was completely relaxed and having the best time. I also added on grooming during his stay, since she’s also a home based groomer and did such an amazing job(she told me she has 20 years of grooming experience!!) After struggling to find the right care for my own huskies, I decided to become the kind of sitter I would trust with my own dogs. I grew up on a farm surrounded by animals, often caring for multiple dogs at once. Animals have always been naturally drawn to me, and I believe that comes from the genuine love and calm energy I bring to them. Today, I work from home, so your dog will never be left alone. I have a cozy, fully fenced backyard and a calm home environment where dogs can feel safe and relaxed. I share my home with my two friendly huskies. I walk them several times a day, and if your dog is comfortable, we can walk them together. If not, I’m happy to walk them separately to respect their needs. Dogs are not allowed on beds, but they are welcome on the couch. There are multiple dog beds around the house, along with plenty of toys and enrichment. For everyone’s safety, I only accept dogs that are spayed or neutered, and I require a meet and greet beforehand to make sure all dogs are a good fit. For safety reasons, I do not accept dogs with active health issues, as I want to ensure every pet in my care receives the attention they deserve within my level of expertise. About: I love animals very much. I can always establish a good interactive relationship with pets and help them adapt to the new environment quickly. By observing and perceiving their needs, I can provide timely help and let them spend a relaxing and happy time. I have also taken care of many older dogs and know how to feed them medicine and care for them. I work from home so I am able to take care of the pet throughout the day, I take dog for walks in the morning and evening and take him out to play in the backyard every two to three hours.
