They hit it off immediately and Mahayla explained her background in animal/dog behavior studies and reassured us that all would go well... and it did! Our pup had a blast trail hiking and also just relaxing at Mahayla's home. I will let dogs out into a fenced in back yard, crate when left alone at home, keep on leash for walks, etc. as indicated by owners. In general, I would default to keeping dogs on leash during walks and not letting them out on their own unless the yard is fenced in.

About: I have my own kitty who I pamper with wet and dry food everyday, yummy jerky treats and she’s spoiled with toys galore. I trim and file her nails since I have a sofa but she’s such a sweet girl she knows not to!! Love felines, really the amount of times I’ve walked into the local Home Depot and got sucked into hours of sitting on the floor to interact with them is, well, everytime I go in there. I really have no difficulty with cats and their varying personalities.

About: Parents Jessica and Philip are the responsible adults guaranteeing that your dog will get everything they need, but 13-year-old Josie is the primary caretaker of our dog guests. She is a very attentive, loving and engaged pet pal! Since we started on Rover as a summer job for Josie in 2023, we have hosted dogs of all sizes, energy levels and needs and she loved every single one of them. She gets up early every day (whether or not she is caring for a dog) so she often gives the pups their first walk of the day before anyone else has gotten out of bed. In spring of 2023 Josie rescued an Eastern Phoebe (songbird) that was pushed out of its nest and injured; she fed it dry cat food soaked in sugar water and set it free a week later as a robust young fledgling (see pictures). On weekends and school vacations, Josie has little to do other than care for your dog! We are early risers. Our calendar has school days blocked off, but we would consider boarding a dog during the school week if its needs match Josie's availability so please inquire. Both parents work mostly or fully from home and could manage a midday walk for a quiet dog. Jessica is an elementary teacher and education administrator who is accustomed to carrying great responsibility for the safety of precious smaller beings. She closely supervises Josie as the primary caregiver. Our home is in the woods with access to Mt. Toby trails so your pup will get to enjoy the outdoors several times a day. Sometimes dogs who are anxious in the busy neighborhoods of their homes are much calmer when they come to our quiet, wooded setting. We have a flock of chickens in an enclosed outdoor area.

About: Hi! As you can see, I'm not charging a lot (I set it to the minimum for Rover which is $15).... The main reason I am doing this is to get a playmate for my energetic Boston. He is very well behaved and friendly but needs dogs around to play with while I work. I am very safe with my dogs and make sure they are getting along and happy. I have a nice fenced-in area.... I only want to take care of dogs that will want to play with my dog for the day:). Overnights an option but for now, just offering day care on here. thanks! I work full-time from home, or if I goto my solo office, I would take the dogs. (Office is pet friendly and it's not far from my home) I am very good with dogs and have had them a long time. About: ive had a couple of dog growing up in my childhood a sweet old black lab and a super crazy dingo.. in my free time after school and during summer i used to walk them, no amount of walking could satisfy my dingo.. id have her pull my bike to get all her energy out since we didnt have any closed in areas she could run off in.. ( i dont do this anymore! i realize its not very safe! she absolutely loved it for sure though) i love pups big and small old and energetic theyre all very unique and id love some new friends to get me out of the house. id ask you beforehand of course if youd be okay with them swimming, theres a pond i can bring them to after walking to cool off at. our backyard is fenced! i have two cats, so id like to know how your dog reacts around small creatures, if they cant be in contact i can always but them into a room while the dog is over. most likely theyd be outside! lots of shade and id keep em well hydrated and happy :3 i currently have been on a job hunt since what feels like forever, my schedule is very. very open.. since i dont have a car, drop off would be ideal, if your close enough to walk to i can do that too! weekends are the only time id be able to pick up your pooch my cats get their waters filled and cleaned almost daily, lots of love of course and are very spoiled. i dont have any dogs at the moment, so of course id love to chat about what youd expect and need for your lovely pup! im good with communication and friendly, special needs id be extra attentive to. im very good at remembering small things, though id still write em down incase!

About: I’ve taken care of dog of many sizes and health conditions, I have had a cat for 9ish years and have cared for friend and families dogs for years. I am a student, I am relatively free but lots of work to do! I like to go on walks already! I am able to be flexible. I know how to feed animals and care for them, can follow special instructions as I know they are important. As much as I would love to care for your fur baby at my home, I cannot.
About: Have owned dogs for over 20 years, pet sit for friends, family, and neighbors. I am over cautious and protective when it comes to animals, I'm also active so love walking dogs, throwing a ball for them, or taking them to our local lake for a swim. I have tons of patience for shy dogs, I have dealt with rescue dogs and know when to get close or not to an animal. I have never had an incident where I have had a dog become aggressive with me. I have taken my own dog to obedience school a few times and learned a few key trips for working with difficult dogs or puppies. I have taken care of puppies within the past three years and am comfortable with the extra care they require. I have a solid connection with our local vet and emergency animal hospital and am able to handle dogs who need shots or medications administered. I work from home and have several pets already needing care. Bathroom breaks, walks, ball throwing, catnip time, all of it already happens in my home. We have several pet fences within our home and a puppy proof first floor. If a pet is okay of leash then we walk them around our 4 acres throwing a ball or whatever the pet likes. If a pet is not okay off leash, then we just walk them on a leash on our land every 1.5 or 2 hours or as needed. Water bowls are everywhere, no chemicals are on site within reach of curious puppies, and no cars move very quickly on our driveway and everyone who does arrive at our home knows we have several pets and need to slow down. We have owned dogs for over 25 years and have never had any of our pets get injured.
About: I’ve interned at my local vet clinic for two years now and have recently moved to a paid position as an assistant! through this internship i have not only learned substantial knowledge regarding pet care, such as how to most effectively administer medications, but also discovered my love for pet sitting, as i have become one of the veterinarian’s permanent pet sitter! i also plan to go to vet school after i earn my bachelors degree! i am currently enrolled in college, as well as working various part time jobs so my availability is limited at the moment, but i will try my best to arrange my schedule best for yours ( and your furry friend’s) needs! i’ll treat your furry family like my own! i come with treats ready (with permission of course) and never leave without a game of fetch or whatever else your babies might enjoy! they’ll definitely be the highlight of my day, so i’ll try to be there’s too!
About: Growing up in Vermont on a farm, I have been exposed to animals my entire life. I have been taking care of family and friends dogs, horses, cats, guinea pigs, camels (yes, camels) since I was allowed to leave the driveway on my bike as a child. Since leaving high school I took on a professional equestrian career with Wichita riding academy working with rehabilitating abused/ off the track race horses. I have just recently moved to Denver with a fenced in yard and lots of space. I have a dog of my own that is my entire pride and joy who loves spending time with other dogs. Having a fenced in yard, it’s very helpful and handy to those pups with bladder issues to go in and out of the house as needed. My home was completely childproof when I moved in and it’s so far worked for dogs as well. Huge open field located next to the house available for dogs who like to run as well.
About: I’ve had pets since I was about 4 years old, and am experienced with caring for cats and dogs. Any needs they have, I will take care of them all - from simple company when you're at work, to walks, giving meds and overnight stays! I have experience training puppies too, from potty training to the classic "stay", "sit", "come", "leave" etc. commands. I have a large dog myself so size of your pet is no issue. Anything you're unsure about, shoot me a message! I work full time at a school but am free weekdays after 2pm until around 10pm. On weekends I am free from Friday afternoon until Monday morning so I can do overnight stays too if needed. Depending on the care required, I will feed pets, give them meds, take them outside, play games/fetch/etc., brush them, empty litter boxes and so on. I have had several cats and dogs of my own and cared for many more, so I am comfortable with adjusting to their different personality types.
About: Loving animals runs in my family! My mother is an animal rescue volunteer and growing up we owned 6 cats and one dog. There were always strays and foster pets going in and out of our home. I absolutely love animals and understand them very well. I know how to take care of them and love them the way they want to receive love. I recently quit my job for my well being and I’m taking a break so I’d love to fill my time hanging out with animals! I am leaving my job as a hair stylist to pursue my true passions in art and healing. I will have a completely open schedule in a week and I’d love to fill it with another passion of mine, Animals :D I have a nice sized apartment and am a 1 minute walk to a large dog friendly park! I have a car so I can go whenever I am needed. I listen to animals and what they need to assure they are always safe and well taken care of. I consider myself a very reliable person.
About: I've lived with and cared for dogs for many years of my adult life. I've regularly taken my friends and housemates dogs for runs, hikes, and even watched them for weekends at a time. I enjoy the company of dogs and have a natural affinity for them. I have flexible availability due to working part time from home. I live with my partner in a house that we have all to ourselves, close to many fun hiking and nature spots for dogs to enjoy! About: I have grown up surrounded by all sorts of animals and have been an adoring playmate for them all, except for one of my ferrets who only liked my mother! At an early age I began to provide animal care for people in my communities and have continued to gain experience ever since. From cats and dogs to horses and geckos, I've loved interacting with so many different personalities! I am a UMASS Student who is currently figuring out her summer work schedule. About: When I lived in my grandmothers house I would frequently house sit for relatives that rented out the bottom apartment. They have 2 senior dogs that needed a little extra attention and love, and a few house plants. I took care of them roughly 4 or 5 times over the years (not consecutively, so not quite an entire year of experience) so that their moms could go on vacation and recover from hospital stays. Since then, I have gone on to get a job at a Doggie Daycare facility out near Boston, where I am continuing to learn more about dog behavior and health. At my job we are trained on safety procedures & health concerns to be on the lookout for, and I have been trained to watch for body language changes. I am currently looking for something to fill my time during the beginning of the week. On weekends and later on in the week I commute to Boston for my job at the doggie daycare. I am also flexible with my weekend dates, so with enough notice I can move almost anything around. I can easily crate a dog if needed for safety of any kind. My position at the daycare is to constantly be on the lookout for changes in behavior and mood, so you can entrust that I will always have your pups safety as priority number one. I am also well versed in being able to reward the good behavior and ignore the bad (within reason) so as not to encourage attention seeking behavior, but still reward even the simplest well done tasks (sitting down/relaxing, playing safely).
